  • The band will never be able to play as lively or tight as they did back in the day, but they still are something else. I got the chills last year seeing them for the first time in a long while. Legendary band!

  • Boy, do I miss his oldies set ... Remember when Bruce said he would never play a sports arena? :-)

  • how sad that bruce was so fresh, innocent, and non-white-niggerish up until the mid-nineties. Now he just seems/is a caricature of "himself." Nearly all of the spontaneity is gone. "Never" expected him to become jaded in miserable like dylan et al, but he has. sad.

  • @glenneveaux ...."non-white-niggerish"...??? what does that mean ?

  • This song rocks. And Bruce should have never shaved.

  • Gary US Bonds...

  • Springsteen

  • sevilla!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I have seen The Roots, The Wailers, Chicago in concert but yet have to see Bruce and the E street band who just happen to be my favorite

All those groups were great but this band man MAGIC

  • If Bruce and the E Streeters go back out on tour, say in 2011, go see them - see them no matter what. Because the next time might really be the last time, despite whatever Bruce will say. They're still dynamite, though. Very worth seeing.

  • definitely planning on it!

  • Greatest conclusion to one-of greatest concerts ever performed by one-of greatest-ever performers!!!!!!!!!

  • thats so cool roy got up from his piano to do some back up vocals. ive never seen that before

  • im going to see him tomorrow!!!!!!

  • what a closer

  • I dont get why everybody rated you down man, you were right

  • thank you

  • that comment was made by a 2009 version of a retard.

  • No, just, no

You can't compare a 7-person full band to a solo artist like Mayer, for starters, nor is there any musical or stylistic similarity.

Bruce & E-Street are a bit of an anomaly in music. Landau was wrong about "the future of Rock & Roll," but only because nobody else has the versatility and talent to pull it off.

Really, the closest comparison might be to Jam Bands like the Dead (or modern-day, Dave Matthews, perhaps). And then, the only similarity is just the large bands and solos

  • Will request this song in spanish concerts !

  • Y nos moriremos todos allí del gusto! :)

  • the saxophone requires no translation. it is awesome in every language. mmm... what a great song.

  • oh wow great stuff

  • this is amazing. this is bruce at his finest.

    he does a great cover.

    man, he IS the boss

  • They need to put on shows like this again.

  • I completely agree with you JJSHIZZ, not only the physical appearances, but also his voice. his voice sounds totally different from the time of greetings and wild to the time of lucky town and human touch

  • best fucking concert ever!!!!

  • you R fuckin right!!!

  • yea most def.

  • from 1975 (here).. to 1985, his look completely changed.. if someone didnt know bruce, and you showed them a picture of him from 75, and then from 85, they wouldnt know its the same person... it's crazy.. not only his physical body, but his face to.. i dont know maybe it's me.. anyone wana share their opinion on that?

  • Springsteen was born in 1950. In 1975 he was 25 (hard to believe he was that young), and in 1985 he was 35. So no, not really surprising, you're just forgetting how young he was in these videos.

  • correction... springsteen was born in 1949 of september.. almost 1950.. but 1949 to be exact

  • his sound changed too, for the worst in my opinion. this is nirvana for me.

  • I would argue that while his sound has changed, it isn't better or worse. If he sounded the same as he did when he was 25 at the age of 59, that would be weird. He is bound to sound different with the passage of time, and it makes sense to explore new directions in his music in order to keep it fresh.

  • @johnnydontcry57 Agreed, everyone evolves ... although some more than others judging by some of the comments on youtube!

  • did you expect him to continue the same shtick for 35 years?

  • nah man, all im saying is that everyone says he sounds better now than he did then, and thats just not true.

  • does anybody know the chords to this song?

  • I've just had a go at it and got the rough chords. Verse is B, G#m, E, F#.

Bridge is E, B then the notes B, C C#, D D# for that ascending scale bit, E chord again then F#-E-F#, back to chorus. The rest of the song is based on the same chords.

  • thanks alot

  • Unbeatable rock'n'roll magic. You can't touch this.

  • Great version of a great song....

  • WOW!!

  • im so jelous of the lucky people who got to see this performance LIVE

  • the best thing ever. period

  • This performance is what Rock N Roll is all about. So much energy and so fun.

Going to see the Boss in Milwaukee tomorrow! wooooo!

  • Have a great time at the Harley event. He kicked ass at Gillette Stadium...his best tour yet!

  • I wish that they would still play this as an encore

  • They did it yesterday...

  • I heard they did it!! I'm just waiting for someone to post the video so i can watch it

  • God bless Gary U.S. Bonds and thanks Danny.

  • Bruce had an awesome look back in the day.

  • ROCK ON BOSS!!!!!!!

  • give me that accordian, sax, and keyboard and you have the definitive Jersey sound.

    "tear drops on the city"....

    god speed Danny

  • you mean, sax, piano, organ..ORGAN... circus.. thats what the ESB brought.. that gritty, awesome sound of south jersey and the boardwalk.

  • WOW. E Street band and Bruce at their prime.

  • That's an easily arguable statement.

  • Masterful.

  • Easily the strongest rock performer alive. Long live Springsteen!

  • Who made this song originally?

  • Gary US Bonds

  • Total fuckin' bar band genius, like they got in Jersey, and Louisiana, Detroit and a few other places in North America. Come on, Britishers, clap...on the two, please.

  • Nice post djangola, I am not sure how many got it, but you gotta love a good backbeat.

  • i disagree but we here all love bruce with our hearts mights minds and souls and some of us like some shows over others but yeah this one's awesome

  • I am not saying British audiences don't know to clap on the 2 and 4 now. What djangola posted was what Jeff Beck said about early 60's British audiences.

  • This is the best version of this cover. Period

  • I second thejoad. Thanks for posting this ^^

  • I love Sha na na!

    J/K

    Good to see this ...

  • great video and bruce was soo0o0o0o0o0o hott back then!!

  • He's like the frikkin duracell bunny. He just goes on and on and on and on. I don't mind ;) tho some do, ask Tom petty. At the "no nukes benefit" he played for 5 or 6 hours.

  • sexy MF

  • He still is!!

  • man you got your money's worth back then at a concert you know...

  • At 57 years old he still plays longer than anyone else.

  • This guy never ceases to amaze me!
