  • thats a wicked sounding car...i love it

  • is it carbarated if so what kind of carb

  • @chevyhotsean It was actually fuel injected. I had a TPIS mini ram set up on it.

  • what gears are you running?

  • @03sto 4.10's in this vid

  • thats beautiful! haha. The car sounded nice. Mine is coming here in 2 hours from New york. ill be making some videos of it running also. It a nice 1986 Pontiac Firebird. Color is Black rather than white in this video. BTW i used to live in enfeild CT :D

  • @18Uper Nice man! You still local? I'd love to check out the car if your from the area.

  • @transamman305 nah sorry. I moved down south :( Wish i was still in CT. Loved it

  • my dad has one check it out

  • tasty rims

  • holy crap i feels weird seeing your car in one piece! haha can't wait till it's done. :D

  • @Artyfil Your telling me! I still watch this vid and dream of the day it's back on the road again lol.

  • nice i got ah 85 were u get the white dash

  • how long did that t5 hold up for exactly mines been doin good but now new heads and cam until t56 arrives i need it

  • @s10guy3388 As long as you don't have real sticky tires, like drag radials, it'll hold up for a while. The only thing that really kills them are launching off the line hard and banging gears hard, so stay away from those and the T5 will last you a long time!

  • this is CT rite if it is were is it looks fimilar

  • @79TAGio Yup CT....It's on Rt 159 on the enfield border

  • @transamman305 your car looks nice i have a 85 we allways go to enfeild so it looked fibular lol

  • hahahaha i filmed this

  • @Untraceable1158 Actually no you didn't....Scott filmed this one....So HAAA!

  • damn, i was thinking about getting a trans am as a first car but now i really want one. well, one with a "355 with heads, XR276 cam, and mini ram." lol

  • awesome sound!!

  • what kind of trans do you have

  • @marc12321 In this vid it was just a T5. Held up for a while though! Now I am putting an LS1 in the car and I have a T56 6 speed for it.

  • @transamman305 I've got the T5 still in mine, added a B&M Short throw shifter, though. Where did you get the white faced gauges??? Sounds nice btw!

  • @MechanicDave84 I got the gauges from this website alfaotto.com

They are real nice and are actually the silver reverse glow gauges, not the white faced ones. Look awesome at night and match my autometer cobalt pillar gauges.

  • @MechanicDave84 When you go to the site do a search for this part number: PN82FB-3293RGX

For some reason they don't list pontiac as one of the makes they carry but I just found them and they still offer them.

  • @transamman305 Thanks!

  • what kind of trans do you got

  • what a beast! Hope you got subframe connectors with that kinda power, T-Top birds aren't the strongest bodies.

  • @oldskoolskater233 Subframes and rollcage will be going in with the new motor set up. Check out my build vid on my profile page to see the details. And thanks for the compliment!

  • Thisis a nice car i have a 88 I want to put a bad ass motor in .

  • nice car man cant for to put heads and cam on mine. m

  • Oh my god a manual one!

  • trans ams make me hot! espesialy this one :)

  • @whitethunder1lol Glad to hear that haha. Thanks for the compliment!

  • thats weak

  • @Baseballstud5964 Weak until the Turbo 5.3 is in and running, and 10 sec 1/4 passes are only a small time away. Thanks to all you haters. I'll be sure to put up a vid of the turbo 5.3 and I WILL be taking challenges from any of you talkers. You all prob drive intake only 1990 honda civics.

  • And you are saying that WRX's are the slowest street cars out there? I totally have respect for American Muscle I have an 85 Z28 with a 327 that is a blast to drive but my WRX when it was stock would give your car a run for it's money. Not to mention now lol I would rape you sooooo bad. And you don't know anything about WRX's. I bet you couldn't even begin to tell me the reason why a WRX is better in the long run for modding than an STi.

  • ummmmm, i hope that was a joke. a stock wrx give a 355 heads cam ta a run? now thats just ignorance. and lets see...reasons wrxs suck compared to stis....weak ass 5 speed, weak awd system, 2.0 that turbo lags like a bastard with anything but a stock turbo. it goes on. my bro had one. he traded it in for a real car....a supercharged mustang!

  • @transamman305 What do you run in the 1/4 with that 355 with heads and cam? And that's funny I have a GT35R turbo which is pretty damn big. I even have a FMIC which increases hp and turbo lag but I somehow manage to get full 20psi boost at 3000rpm. Now the stock turbo gets boost at 2800rpm so I guess that 200rpm is a REALLY big difference huh? Speaking of supercharged mustangs I race an 03 Cobra just 3 days ago and I left it behind by a good 10 car lengths. All the while I get 30mpg hwy. hmmmmmm

  • i wish you lived close so i could line up next to you. talk is cheap and id love to see you get your ass handed to you by me and all my freinds. now you tell me, how exactly is a wrx at all better to build than an sti? id love to hear this one.

  • @transamman305 LOL you and all your friends better have something special. WRX's are better because the 5 spd gear ratio is better spread out and you don't have to shift as much. And you can buy gear sets that are VERY strong for the WRX's for not that much. They run on a cable driven throttle instead of fly by wire which is much easier to tune. The heads flow much more air than the heads on the STI. You still didn't answer me, what do you run in the 1/4?

  • I havent been to the track yet since its over an hour drive but i can guarantee itll do a mid 12. And I have never, NEVER heard of anyone saying WRXs are easier to mod than an STI, period. That doesnt make sense. The tranny blows and if you knew how to shift, 6 gears wouldnt be an issue!

  • Ok well being the muscle car fan that you are I highly doubt that you REALLY research anything about subaru's. There are PLENTY of WRX's out there that are running faster than hell. Shit I have vids of one with 800hp so you can't tell me they can't make power. The tranny's only break when people drive them like complete and total morons. Even the STi you shouldn't do a 5k clutch dump. And yes I can drive VERY well if you don't believe me check out the vids of my car. And I doubt a mid 12 lol.

  • bitch shut the fuck up no one cares about your pos subaru

  • @FenderRox Yeah nobody cares until I mop up the streets with their V8. Nobody ever cares until that happens then all of the sudden they seem to care about it.

  • @transamman305 i'm sorry bro, but your car is a 13 sec car at best. you can blame the tuning all day long but its just not that quick. I have an 87 T/A 355/6 speed and it would definitely shat in your mouth. seems to me like you have more serious issues than tuning. your cam is not making power where your intake is either. you need to do some part matching.

  • @bubba428 I've seen PLENTY of heads cam 355 with my EXACT cam and heads and they are in the mid to high 12's. If your car is so quick why don't you post a vid of it running at the track? Proof or it's a load of bullshit. And frankly, I don't really care what your car does or runs and I hope that 355 has some work done to it to beat my set up, since thats the best intake for a 355 made.

  • @65438922 5.3 HOPEFULLY should be in this summer. I'm keeping my fingers crossed on that since I've got a bunch of work still to do to the chassis. The dash and basically entire interior is stock for 86 except for the seats. Thats how I bought it and it was all original. I think 85 was the first year for that interior style. And tell your bro I said good luck! Just don't rush it and it'll go smooth.

  • @65438922 The spoiler is the origianl off the car. It's the crappy rubber one and in 86 they came black no matter what color the car was. Up close it's all cracking and it's not in great shape, so I'm getting a fiberglass one for it. Gotta post up some vids when your cars are done!

  • Very nice. I'm jealous.

  • hey man awesome Trans Am i have one thats the exact same color exact same year except it's a giant piece of shit. wont even start im lucky if it turns over! man in the future ill prolly end up askin u wht parts i should get to make it as badass as that!

  • @KNIGHTRIDERDUDE a new owner for starters.

  • a lot of people keep asking this. it was a long time ago but the website was otto racing or otto r....something like that. try google. im sure youll find something.

  • hey where in CT are you it looks familiar to where i drive my gta

  • suffield....up north. how bout you?

  • i seem to hear lots of bad things about pretty much anything higher than like 3.73 gears. i was looking to get 4.10s but after reading some forums i decided to wait it out. i have 3.23s right now. what do you say about yours?

  • If your going all motor, 4.10's are the way to go! my brother had them in his 92 RS with a 400 sbc in it. Car was a ROCKET. Why do people say not to go higher than 3.73??

  • well i dont plan on going all motor. i want a car that can double as a street car and a drag car. they told me 3.73 would be the best for my application and 4.10s i would spin the tires at every stop light.

  • what heads?

  • Trick flow 195cc's. they are AWESOME heads too!

  • I saw you had CT plates Where in CT are you?!?!?!?

  • Suffield...bout 15 mins from Hartford...where are you?

  • Well I did live in Enfield but now I'm out in Tucson, AZ

  • is this a first gen. 350 or a late model?

  • It was a 355 roller motor out of a 92 camaro. I now have LSx power that will be going in soon ;)

  • What do you have for gears??

  • I have 4:10's, but it seems so doggy because it was running really lean. I was in the process of tuning it in the vid, and it's MUUUUUCH better now.

  • I got an 86 with a rebuilt 350 bored .060 over and lightly tuned. I never (or have yet to) had a problem with the 700r in it, and I took a stock 700r to 7400 rpms in second (dirt racing ftw). I guess I am lucky, but when it goes I got a Muncie for it.

  • What LSA is that cam?

  • It is a comp cams 112 LSA .503 intake lift, .510 exhaust lift, and I believe 224, 230 dur @ .50

  • 112 lsa .503, .510 lift.

  • sweet TA, where did you find those gauges

  • i know what you mean. i had an 87 gta which was auto, and it blew out the 3-4 clutch pack. i had an 88 gta which was auto, i rebuilt the trans with some serious "over kill" parts, and as soon as i bored it to a 355, ported the heads intake plenum and runners, cammed it, and a few other things, it chewed the 3-4 clutch pack. Now i have an 00 t/a which is a 6 speed, and the previous owner was a chick. and i mean girly girl chick. the synchs in that poor t56 are so beat.

  • I had an 00 Firehawk. There are a few vids of it on here under my profile. I LOVED that car but sold it due to it not being a very practical vehicle for new england. LS1's go like hell!

  • sounded like you almost missed 3rd lol

  • Trust me, that T5 has seen much better days, like back in 86! LOL

  • dude thats a bad ass ta u have... i got an 86 t tops 5 speed with the ho 305 i want to do a tpi swap on it or upgrade the carb heads and cam, that would cost more than doing the tpi swap tho

  • Thanks for the comment! I was having a lot of issues getting the mini ram to run right on the car, so it actually now has a 750cfm carb and an edelbrock RPM air gap manifold on it now. I'm working on getting some good footage of it running so I can post it up.
