  • WOW Just wow!!!! Damn Great cover!

  • fuck yeah.

  • LONG LIVE THE BLACK CROWES !!!!

  • First half of the record was Keith, then the second half solo was Mick Taylor.

  • When the Black Crowes first and second albums came out I thought they had so much Stones influence. I'm a Stones fanatic and wish there were more Black Crowes type bands

  • best stones song not performed by the stones

  • The best cover of a Stones song I've ever heard is Connection by Montrose, mid 70s. Great cover.

  • not a Stones fan at all but love this cover

  • I think Devo's cover of Satisfaction is better than the original

  • @Farkelu bad troll, bad

  • Love the Black Crows, but can't touch the Stones version, but who could?

  • horrible version urghh!!!

  • Check out the youtube clips of recent Stones performances of this song. They're excellent.

  • And the prize for the most stupid comment posted on the Black Crowes videos goes to odh202 sayin "the Black Crowes are practically a classic rock cover band they're so retro" !

    Congrats!

  • @mauno911 This band is for people who think good rock music stopped being made somewhere around 1975.

  • @odh202 True! The best rock ever recorded!

  • def. one of my fav. all time rock songs

  • Wow they really nailed this, great job!

  • There's no contemporary band nowadays that plays this song better than the Black Crowes . Listen to recent Rolling Stones concerts And hear what i mean.. The Black crowes guitar sound is more 70ties..

  • how dare you?! how dare you compare the rolling stones to other bands?!? but i like the black crowes too..

  • This version is louder...but the Stones play this better. Listen to the detail that Keith Richards plays during the chorus that is missing here. And while Ron Wood is not know for soloing, he kills it on Can't You Hear Me Knocking.

  • I'm sure that Wood kills it live, but Mick Taylor plays on the original; Wood didn't join the band until about four years after the release of Sticky Fingers. Amen on the Richards comment, though.

  • Wasn't Mick Taylor playing playing on the original version?

  • Yes it's Mick Taylor on the original studio recording, but Ron Wood plays this solo surprisingly well onstage.

  • @odh202

It's Mick Taylor who plays the solo in Can't you hear me knocking

  • @rodrikes "The Black Crowes guitar sound is more 70ties". Uh, the Stones have been playing basically same guitars and amps since the Black Crowes were still sucking their thumbs. Strats/Teles with Fender Twin amps, with the occasional deviation.

  • I love the BlackCrowes but no one does it like the Stones!

  • ...this band is amazing live

  • Its just music friends its not impossible to cover anything you just have to know how to fucking play the bloody thing these guys rock. stones crowes leon russel the band dr john and all the new orleans guys blind faith bands like these ya get it?

  • Dude, some say that the Stones are simply impossible to cover, but I disagree. I REALLY disagree.

  • Enjoy the Ted Nugent version of Jumpin Jack Flash? The GnR version of Sympathy for the Devil? Most bands try to play versions that are louder and a lot busier guitar-wise than the Stones, but it isn't as good. One of the things that I love about the Stones is that they never devolved into a hard rock-style "guitar band", although they certainly had some of the greatest guitar riff and some great songs. The Black Crowes are practically a cover band they're so retro.

  • "The Crowes are practically a cover band, they're so retro"? HUH? WTF? If you were here, i'd make you suck my dick, just so your mouth couldn't utter such nonsense.

  • This argument can be settled once and for all: watch the stupendous clip of Linda Rondstadt performing Tumbling Dice in Atlanta in 1977.

  • the exception proves the rule

  • @jmyers95655 I didn't say they were impossible to cover, but extremely difficult to mimic. The only cover versions of Stones songs that are any good are the ones that try to do something totally different with the song such as Devo's "Satisfaction", Otis Redding's "Satisfaction" and.....I can't think of any others.

  • absolutly amazing

idk whose better at this song

    rolling stones

    or the black crows

but i do know that they both kick so m uch as at this song

    :D

    LOVE THIS SONG

  • NO ONE has ever did a Stones song better than the Stones.

    never

  • i thought the same until i hear blind faith's under my thumb and leon russells 's jumpin jack flash.

but yeah , you are right if we talk about the gun's sympathy for the devil, or pearl jam's waiting on a friend.... simply pathethic.

  • You know at first glance that's a stupid comment. I mean saying "no one." But after giving it some thought, I think you're right. I can't think of one example.

The best bands are so far above everyone else because of the ARRANGEMENT of the instruments- the way they complement each other. No one does this better than the Stones.

Nonetheless, I love this cover! Even if it's missing the texture of Keith Richards' guitar.

  • @piklhed except RockAndRolf

  • @piklhed ...until the crowes*

  • @litatyas IF the Crowes have ever topped a Stones original with one of their covers....(and that's a big "if")....this ain't it.

  • @swiggy58a NOBODY will ever top a Stones "original".....with a "cover. NO-body!

The Stones are just too GOOD!

How-EVER! ....Keith Richards would Approve of this!

... He once said that the greatest "Epitaph" a Musician could have on his head-stone would be: "He passed it on". There will NEVER be another Rolling Stones! But the Black Crows are trying! They are "passing it on".

    What more can you do?

  • I wannabe a rolling stone...

    Black Crowes,... HAHAHAHA never!!!!

  • This is the best video version of this song I have found! Did the Stones perform it live in the day?? Where is it?? Later Stoes performances don't have the guts this has.

  • Wyman and Richards both say the song was performed in early shows of the 1971 tour but no recordings or even setlists of these shows exist. The first tour it was definitely played was 2002-2003 where i agree that the versions were weak due mainly to Richards having far too clean a guitar sound ,meaning the opening section had no punch whatsoever. The Crowes version is very good btw

  • @powderfinger71 Um...who asked you? And what do YOU really know?

    Can you play a guitar?

    Can you play THIS !??!

Or are you just another useless Asshole; with a big Opinion?

    Probably the "Latter.

    Learn to play a Guitar;

write somethting better than one of "Keef"s 200 top Ten hits......

then write me back and tell me how "effing" "Brilliant" you really are.

You know-nothing, worthless piece of Crap!

  • @swiggy58a And a good morning to you, how's your day been?

  • yes and it is on youtube...and in my humble opinion its "THE BEST", but i still love the crows..............

  • Please forward to me, I only find the 2002-2003 version. You know of a Stones/Mick Taylor version from early seventies?

  • What rock u been living under my friend

  • Sunny ROctober day in Pozo watching BC...You have to be there to understand this place and how special it is.

  • love THE BLACK CROWES

  • killer song yes !! this version is crap. sorry: for the black crows.
