It's not intolerent to have religious beliefs. If you read the old testament, the new one and koran, there is a prohibition for mairrage of people of the same sex. Islamic nations don't even have a LBGT community. Most Americans support civil unions because of thier religious beliefs. Can't you be happy with that.

I am not affraid of them. I just feel that being LGBT is a medical issue that needs further research to find viable medical treatments. However, until we find it, we should allow civil union. If your going to reason, than you would know thee medical traits, differerences in DNA,. Do we tolerate the effects of schziophrenia, or do we as a society try and treat it? Again, we have serpation of church and state. A minority can not force anyone to giving intro religious marriage.

It is intolerant when you use those religious beliefs to make the lives of millions very unhappy with no just reasoning. Civil unions do not provide the same benefits as marriage, nor do they carry the same social standing. That is why we cannot be happy with them.
