Honestly, I found this to be an excellent movie, as good as the 2nd one. People must accept the fact that stories must go foreward! One can only make so many movies about the future war. Finally it started! People say it was too dark, or not enough comedy. But all the franchie is based upon how terrible this war is. These dark times needded to be shown. And I think it was a great idea adding Marcus, who had not been predicted. And about the time traveling, it was too soon for that.

@sunnysideoflove I saw the clip, and I did not see the logic either. Why would a killer machine aim at the feets? So I saw some more clips, and the whole movie seems to have these weaknesses. Either plot holes or dialoque that are not understanable, fight scenes that are hard to follow or just dumb killer machines with no logic.

So I decided, it is not worth the money to buy the DVD.

I saw this piece of trash on the big screen. I grew up with Terminator from the first to the newest. It is number 2 of my top franchises with Metal Gear being number 1.

This movie along with Terminator 3 and that rotten TV series are a insult to the series.

It CONTRADICTS EVERYTHING REESE TOLD SARAH In T1 and it CONTRADICTS T2.

I am a true fan, and T3 took a piss on the series, T Salvation took a gigantic smelly shit all over it. The TV series smeared it in.

tbh, although im going to go see it, i dont have high hopes at all for this movie.

being a die hard terminator fan i have wanted to see the war in the future for my whole life, the desperate struggle of man against machine, where the resistance has lost everything and yet are still fighting for a future, where they are forced to move only at night and scramble for the few resources they can find, this movie just dosnt look at all like the futrue we have been building up to.

I would definately agree that the characters lacked heart and on screen presence but this is only because the script wasnt strong enough to support this latest addition to the franchise. However I thoroughly enjoyed the movie, thought the action and effects were visually stunning and the action was second to none, so to say T4 narrowly beats T3 is unfair and widly inaccurate, T4although not the complete product, did enough 'visually' to make the film a worthy addition to the franchise.

I havnt seen the movie yet. but seen the originals and just to comment on everyone going on about why they used kyle as bait and just not kill him? well.. why would they be looking at him. there mission is to kill john connor they dont even know who he is. there mission was to kill sarah connor also in T1 never kyle. kyle was never a target.

Very good, but the debate is that the terminators caught him and used him as bait instead of killing him. what I'm saying is, they know nothin of kyle or who he is! there mission is to kill john connor, not kyle hence y they used him as bait to kill john connor!!!

Terminators DID know about Kyle. In the sub, 4 days before their big offensive, John is told about a termination list which included the top guys in the sub, with John as #2 on the list. When John asks who is #1, he is told, "Kyle Reese." The machines have history of Kyle's existence in the past via time travel(police records from 1984), that's why they want him dead as a first priority. As soon as he was identified in the line, logically, he would've been killed on the spot, not held as bait.

Well, I'm not a terminator fan, I didnt know that, I only know from watching T1 and T2. I havn't seen T4 yet, so I assumed that was the case with commonsense, but obviously this is not the case so the therefore the plot has some serious holes inside it.

HUGE plot hole in this movie. If Kyle Reese dies, you automatically remove John Connor from the timeline. The machines had many opportunities to kill Kyle, but they instead captured and used him as bait to lure John Connor to Skynet ?? Contrived !! All they had to do when they had Kyle was to TERMINATE him, for which he was targeted, and the machines would win. But they used Kyle as bait to lure John instead of just killing Kyle ? Movie makers think we are dumb and just want action over story.

hole in a plot was after TERMINATOR 2. Think about it. Kyle had a sex with Sarah, after which she was pregnant. That means she had a baby - John Connor. BUT Kylie was dead in the present. So how could he be alive in the future? My point is that killing Kylie wouldn't guarantee John's non-existance, couse Kylies death in the present had no consequances to the fact that Kylie was alive in the future.

The story was a terminator war film and it basicly had the same story line as the other movies but this time it was kyle reese who needed protecting so John could live again and save another universive against the machines in another time line.I could understand why they knew he was the father because skynet had files on everyone. The problem in this movie is "Spoiler":

The crappy Skynet girl robot says the purpose of Marcus was to infiltrate and succeed where all the other atempts of Skynet had fail. The problem is Skynet wants to kill John because he became the leader who won the war, but in T4 he is not yet the leader and Skynet isn't defeated yet. Sending a T800 back trough time was the last resort of Skynet. In T1 Reese said, "We won the war".

So how can Skynet know about the faild atempts of robots send back trough time (that only Sarah and John knew about from T1 and T2) if those events still have to happen for Skynet?

I think that the thing with Marcus is that His body was used for experiments by Cyberdyne Systems Pre Judgment Day, and then Skynet got a hold of his body (Post Judgment Day) and possibly others and made him into a machine human hybrid to test it out. I am just speculating here because where marcus comes from and how he got to be what he is, is never explained in the movie, and I found that frustrating.

You don't need to see the movie, if you saw all the official released clips you saw the movie, the rest is just filling up empty space. There was no charachter developpement, everything had to speed up just to show references to the first two films. The saga ended after T2, period.

Terminator Salvation made me wish that the first Terminator was done better (effects and story wise). The focus wasn't entirely on John Connor (which I enjoyed), but told multiple stories that all revolved around the condition they were in.

T3 was an utter waste of time tho.

T-1 was awsome, the soundtrack and the fact that arnold played on an evil behalf was briliant. Camerons second film obviously was the best. T-3 was good for the fact we got to see the terminators back on our screens, ok it wasnt great, but it still had some good action in it. Now T-4 i hope when it comes out over here in britain shows up at least number 3 and brings back those awsome memories of the saga.

In my opinion T-1 is the best. T-2 was groundbreaking with the fx but T-1 had excellent story telling and Kyle reese. A very dark film.

T-2 seemed more silly and the kid who played John conner was annoying as hell.

T-3 suck ass. This one looks like its gonna be real good.
