  • you couldnt even buy lunch with that now. it was worth about $300 USD when it first came out, now worthless

  • where did u get the zimbabwean money

  • so this means................? :S

  • @UltimateSuperChannel Its a scam.

  • Why are we in the USA unable to solve our economic woes? Because God is against the prosperity of a nation that routinely slaughters 25% of it's unborn.

  • great video

  • This message can't be pushed enough. For some it's a reminder, for some it's the most important video they will see all year.

    .

Sad that as of 2010 loonies aren't even copper/nickel anymore. Now they're steel like the rest of our worthless fiat coins.

  • zee germans zee germans! ;)

  • ...the queen will be the biggest souvenir when the british monarchy crumbles.

  • do canada use polymer notes like in australia?

  • @4rcane I think we'll be starting soon & also steel-plate layered coins for everything, no more nickel, bronze, copper.

  • great video man

  • explain perfectly

    cheers D

  • I wonder if there will ever be a day when the Queen is absent from the currency.

What is the highest demonination coin you can buy in Canada with the highest percentage of silver? I need to buy one of those Zimbabwe notes to drive the point home to friends and family. Paper ponzi yes I have been using that term for over 5 yrs now Fiat musical chairs!

  • Good vid...helps people understand the devaluation of fiat money.

  • Excellent!

  • Very good example of the 1951 silver $ been able to buy same 10 liters of gaz in 2010. Very important history course about fiat paper money losing value. I favorite this video.

Can you redim the old silver certificats for silver at the Central Bank in 2010 or this garanty expired?

  • @Alexiscom1

I had a friend who tried to redeem a $5 Silver certificate at the "Private" NY Federal Reserve bank when he was taking a tour. The answer is NO and he was escorted out by a security guard. They didn't even offer him a crispy new fiat ponzi $5.

  • @Rizky06 nice... the truth hurts.

  • Very nice video, Derek. Thanks.

  • Well done!

  • Great video Derek!!!

this one has been added to my Playlist called "Meaning of Money" ,your videos clearly shows the depreciation our money has already suffered by being taken off the gold standard.

    good work!

  • @connectingdots1 thank you for adding this to your playlist.

Our loonie ways 7g and is 91.5% nickel. That means it takes 64 to make a LB and we need nickel to go to $64/LB for the metal to be at par. right now nickel is about $10.50 in CAD A loonie is worth about 20 cents in metal value and a toonie might be worth less than 20c a coin in metal value.

Paper dollars worth in paper value??? well its a collectors item or souvenir value I would predict.

  • @endlessmountain

    Thanks.

I've stopped spending any coins and save them all.

Do you know how much a Zimbabwean penny is worth?

  • Say Endless,,, did you know, there is more then a nickle of nickle in a US nickle! :~}

  • @wcarlpdrysdale your nickels have 25% nickel & 75% copper. Nickle is $10.20/LB and Copper is $3.23 making the value of the nickels worth greater than 5cents in metal value. Coinflation web page says 5.46 cents right now

The Canadian nickels pre 1982 are 99.9% nickel and there is much more than a nickel of nickel in a pre82 canadian nickel and because a LB is 453 grams and they are 4.53g each the math is easy. $10.20 divide 100 for 10.2 cents for the nickel. Im glad I gotta bunch of them.

  • Excellent vid. Thanks for the analogy. Just like one oz. of gold in the 1920s would get you a nice suit, and so would a twenty dollar bill. Something has changed yet something has not. Thanks again.

  • @piptaac101 Thank you :)

  • Money in the UK still states it will pay the bearer on demand the sum of xx pounds, however this is true because pound is not defined and so they will simply give you another note for your note which should clue people into the revolving nature of debt in the system.

  • @Danster82 I guess they use to say 'xx pounds sterling' in the same way the US notes use to say 'Silver certificate'

  • @ev06dre pound is a weight measurement in silver

  • @Danster82

*Public announcement in the U.K.* We have replaced all tangible asset backed currency with worthless fiat paper that has symbols on it. Have a nice day!!!!

  • @Rizky06 We know, I was referring to historically the pound was a weight in silver not today.

  • Great video! I try and explain this to all the people i know.. but either they don't get it, or they don't care.

  • @BullBullion2010 i have seen the group of Not getting it when I talk with locals.

  • @endlessmountain I've had very little trouble talking with skeptical people so far. I just ask them to look back in the prices of inflation they pay for and I quote them the # years it takes for your money to buy half what it used to buy. That drives it home. Then I make it clear that with gold and silver you just won't see this happen.
