  • i so wish i hadn't looked at this video, just wanted to see what they were going to do to my mother in the morning and holy hell!!! lil woozy right now but damn TMI!!!

  • WMG?? What in the hell those idiots have to do with Skeletal Metal Trauma Surgery??

  • My femurs were smashed to bits, surgeons were unable to put pins or screws in as the bones were broken into small pieces and both femurs came through the skin. i had to settle for 5 months of traction, i'm a little shorter now but thanks to all the surgeons who put me back together again, i'm one lucky guy.

  • what the fuck am I looking at here?

  • IMAGING HIM WAKING UP!!

  • thank god for something like this, without this i wouldnt have a leg today, so thank everyone and thank god for the time i live in otherwise my life could be a whole lot worst

  • i had a femur surgery for both implanting and removal of the IM rod and nails. Surgeries went perfect and both the anaesthesiologist and the surgeon were nice and comforting... :-)

  • @angeo007 did you feel pain in the nails near your knee . i had my rod in the femur from 3/12/07 to now and the nails in the knee hurt when i run .

  • @darealpapac Dude, had no pain in my thigh post op. The Surgeons a highly skilled one. Got the correct length of the Rod, drilled the right way inserted the nails at the right spot away frm d moving joints, n to say perfect. Didnt feel a thing for 2 years post which i got operated by the same Doc for the implant removal. It went smooth. Is your implant a permanent one or to be removed. you shld get it removed if the Doc says so... i hve hrd they remove the hurting nail as an adjustment as well.

  • @angeo007 My implant is permanent i called my doc today i'll see him next week.i think the nails may have to come out . I walked around at a lean 145lbs before now i am 185lbs not so lean lol i just wann get back to the old me. Miss boxing playing b ball and running dude thanks for your time and fyi bro be safe.

  • @darealpapac Thanks... i too gained weight during these days but m toning down..hey check with your doc to get a nail removed , esp the one that hurts or to rescrew it a bit above the site so its comfy.. do lemme know what the doc says.. So long, wish you all the best to return back to your old self :)

  • I want to ba an Anesthesiologist :))

  • i just had this surgery 2 weeks ago and could bare toatch this video. i broke it in football some kid drove his helmet into my leg. its the hort pain in the world

  • I wanna be Anesthesiologist too :)

  • i have to admit it is a bit disturbing

  • these guys aren't really "trauma surgeons"...they are orthopedic surgeons. Ortho surgeons can specialize in trauma, but they are not "trauma surgeons". "trauma surgeons" typically work with soft tissue in the area of the abdomen and tend to wounds like stabbings, and gunshot wounds.

  • In the 1900's they use to race motorcycles on wooden tracks, many racer's sustained broken femur bones, unable to repair them, most would die.Its the worst bone to break,at least I think so.

  • why this people ????

  • omygawsh....... *SHUDDERS DEEPLY*

  • this is lame... where the babies at?

  • i had 24 operation in right femur

  • i like blood =]

  • My son just had a spiral fracture of his Femur. With a plate and 13 screws. This is fascinating stuff!

  • for a strange reason my balls hurt when i see this

  • everything is free in canada

  • that's what i like about trauma surgery there's nothing delicate about it, it's gory, hardcore and awesome!!!

  • it is the miracle

  • ugh, im having this same sergury in a week :( now im sick

  • @NickReager How did it go? :)

  • @BluWolf2012 pretty good, but somtimes it still hurts, thx! lol :)

  • heart surgery and brain surgey is boring, this is definetly what i'm going to be, future Trauma Surgeon here

  • Imagine the pain if he was awake...

  • impressive how you work so quickly

  • is a periprosthetic fracture a bone disintegration at the point where the prosthesis connects to it?

  • Wow. :D

I really want to be a Trauma Surgeon.

  • AFTER surgery to put metal pin in arm/wrist (bones apart)- i took morphine pills only once w bad reaction- so i used only anti-inflamatory & ice & elevated my arm suspened in sling from ceiling-that was the best pain killer

  • cant wait to see this done in person one day!

  • i had this op 2 weeks ago today aint as bad as what i thought

  • @XxSPARKYxX16 what happened?

  • @stifflersmum7 i Crashed My Motorbike and had this op done on 17th of march after doing it on the 16th and wanted to see the op so found it lol

  • im so proud of myself, i was actually able to watch this!

  • You guys can be the Trauma surgeon but I want to be in the background making sure this guy stays alive, doesn't feel a thing and doesn't remember a thing. Don't neglect the Anesthesiologist!

  • @nateo200 i asked to be awake-i had the arm block- never had the bad recovery & was conscious & aware- not sick & low blood sugar/pressure reaction-& lung cough out poison after- much better to have a local limb block-less dangerous

  • @nateo200 Your right! Because no one wants to be awake for this lol

  • imma get this surgery today .. SHIT!!!!!!!

  • How interesting, I don't know ither to Get into Trauma Surgery, Cardiovascular, or Neurosurgery.

  • dude, that looks like fun. i'm definitely going to be a surgeon!

  • this person was really fat.

  • @DeLuca221

That's probably not as much adipose tissue as it is inflammation and fluids as a result of the fracture. Especially with the femur, fluid accumulation after trauma is expected.

  • bones

  • yay broke my rigight femure 1 week ago....

no it feels awful..FOKODM the pain!!!!!!it hurts like hell!!!!!!!!!

  • Just had this exact surgery done. 7 screws and an 8 inch metal plate put in. Had know idea it was like this.

  • Imagin waking up in the middle of that.

  • aww..scary

  • I love the surgeon gowning at the beginning. He slaps the nurse's hand and it's on!

  • i want to be a trauma surgeon =]

  • @malubayraymond

too bad there is no such things as a trauma surgeon.........maybe you're thinking of a general surgeon.

  • @eb2phkingood Please shut up. I work as a central support/ IV support technician at a hospital and we just had a meeting that covered a shortage of trauma surgeons in the area; 2 hospitals don't have enough trauma surgeons to cover both areas. Trauma surgeons are an integral part of the surgery team; that's why trauma sugery is a recognized fellowship in the USA! Look it up!

  • @AxonHilock

I am a graduate from Creighton Med. IThere is no such thing as a trauma surgeon, it is called a general surgeon. A quick google search will even give you that answer. Good try though.

  • @eb2phkingood Turn on the news, men are named as TRAUMA SURGEONS who are saving senator Gabrielle Giffords life! You ignorance is offensive to me. You should google "American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma" or "American Association for the Surgery of Trauma"

  • @AxonHilock

@eb2phkingood you got pwned, AxonHilock is correct

  • @eb2phkingood Trauma surgeons.. if you happened to get shot, car accident, explosions, whatever, you would normally see a trauma surgeon fixing what you've fucked up.

  • i have metal in my arm a metal plate and it not bad but for femur ya scary

  • i crushed my femur bone and had to get a plate, 2 wires and 4 screws. i sure hope i wasnt this bloody and cut this guy lol :P. but i got this looooooooooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnggggg scar tho xD

  • my cousin is having this done to him right now.

  • my 8 year old brother had this done to him, damnnn !

  • man this surgeon is a butcher i broke my femur in a dirtbike accident and all i have is a couple of small cuts and a metal rod and some screws

  • @chargerman06 maybe its a different degree of fracture, not all of them require external fixators or a multitue of pins and needles

  • @chargerman06 you might of had a hairline fracture this one looks like it was broken in two places

  • @sandwinaGB

hell no i had a spiral fracture it was in pieces.

  • thats a pretty big leg

  • pretty cool how they can just go in and operate like that like it's nothing

  • @mkdancer1986 dude there so pre trained and experianced it's crazy

  • @lilcroy103 yea ur tellin me... i want to do that some day :) it's so amazing!!!

  • Hi, I had a similar surgery, an intramedullary femur nail, 16 inch long because I broke my femur in 3 places. Does anyone know who the patient is, is he o.k. now, or has anyone had this happen to them? I had it 2 months ago, and I'm hobbling around now, how long until I'm 100% again, anyone know the total heal time on this,

    Kris

  • @kristofferpfister how did you brake it??

  • @kristofferpfister a year man my cousin had a conpounded femur after having his leg crushed by 800 pounds of glass and he had a rod put and and leg re alligned took him a year and some months to fully fully recover

  • @kristofferpfister breaking your fumur is second world to breaking your spine, its a REAL thick bone that shouldnt be broken easily, youll be wobbling for a good half year, and then you need to get on the calcium to build it up, because im sure you know it wont come out the way you went in, good luck man..or woman

  • @LAETSPITS nah, i broke my femur because there was a big cyst in there and i was running and it snapped, i was walking 6 weeks after

  • @kristofferpfister Dude by now you may be fine, i had broken mine 2 years ago and just recently i got my Rod removed.... Check with your doc if the rod needs to be removed after a prescribed period, if yes get it removed.. it is less time taking... m back to normalcy. Bless You. :-)

  • You need how many years of school to do this? Easy! I could have walked out of highschool and done this stuff. Now brain surgery, my survival rate would suck.

  • i had one of this :D

  • I dont understand ?? In what situation would you have needed this type of surgery ??

  • @africabatic2 according to the title, this was a trauma. i'm pretty sure this is the result of a broken femur.. i'm not sure. not a professional.

  • @africabatic2 a more severe tibular/fibular fracture would have necessitated such a surgery (almost any fracture that can't be healed by manual manipulation and/or reduction would need surgery) --> that's why the speciality's called orthopedic *surgery*

  • @africabatic2 I needed it because I broke my femur in 3 places, there was a 6 inch piece of bone punched out of the center of the femur, they had to put an intramedullary rod down the hip, and cut the leg to align it.

  • and people fucking go recover from this?

  • that was sick awesome

  • lol he use black and deker!!! o m g

  • Comment removed

  • this is orthopedic surgery, not trauma surgery!

  • its the same thing, all fractures are due to trauma. of course deformity correction and other stuff is not trauma surgery.

  • yummmmmmmmmyyyyyyyyy

  • this vid. made my skin crawl...cool hahaa

  • very lovely video. .. great images .. jus what i WAS Looking for.

  • So glad I was asleep for this :P

  • Yeah dude me too. How did you break yours?
