@ThreeWickedWonders That's actually a lie. Sidious as a Sith loved himself too much and he knew that if he lowered his guard, Mace would go against the code and slay him without hesitation. He wouldn't risk his life in the possibility that Anakin would join him. He was strong(in my opinion the strongest sith lord in all history) but so was Windu.

@Thetop10guy1 in the fact that he has a stronger command of the force he wasnt at his full potential when they fought obi wan was a master anikan only recently then became a knight, and yoda has more wisdom and command of the force than mace windu, thereby reasoning of why windu named yoda grand master. mace widu only beat sidious bc his light saber skills where legendary. and if we were going by command of the force anikin would be 2nd if not 1st only to yoda

@ThreeWickedWonders That's actually a lie. Sidious as a Sith loved himself too much and he knew that if he lowered his guard, Mace would go against the code and slay him without hesitation. He wouldn't risk his life in the possibility that Anakin would join him. He was strong(in my opinion the strongest sith lord in all history) but so was Windu.

@wintersnoob you're right.. about only one thing.. sidious did protect himself. He used force lightning on mace windu but mace blocked with his lightsaber to keep him busy while anakin was pressured to make his decision.. he then stopped using force lighting whenever he noticed anakin was still having trouble choosing which side, in the process forcing anakin to make a decision right then and there.. DID YOU EVEN WATCH THE MOVIE? It was an act.. and it was a brilliant one.

Then go to Mace Windu's article and read the last duel part. There it is stated that Windu survived due to his mastery of Vaapad. Windu defeated Palpatine with a kick.

@ThreeWickedWonders Look just stop inventing. The movie doesn't tell you shit about it. It didn't tell you that Sidious planned that showdown and his own defeat so why the fuck are inventing crap? What the movie shows you is that Windu disarms Palpatine with a nicely-positioned kick and knocks him down...leaving Palpatine with his last resource, which was the force lightning though he wasn't expecting Windu to deflect it at him. Then when he saw Anakin approaching he used the opptortunity.

That doesn't mean he knew about his showdown otherwise he wouldn't have slaughtered most of the jedi and used the "killing strike" against Dooku, in other words, a strong strike to Windu's chest.Also he wouldn't let his important lightsaber fly off the window or even be disfigured by his own lightning.
