  • I too am a modeler. I like your layout, great for long continuous runs. I always wonder why we as modeler run our equipment so close to the edge of the scenery? I know we all value our equipment, whether we bought it new or used. As you said, it is "my own world". Part of the appeal of model railroading is we create a world in our own view, one we control, as opposed to the real world.

  • Great layout but the id bothers me Have to show God His props, not take them for ourselves.

  • @1206kam I'm not a religious man. So This little world of mine is "My own world". So I'm "MyOwnGod". I'm not hurting anyone, so please don't take it personally.

  • @1206kam At least he isn't using God, rather god; nice layout by the way!

  • @1206kam WTF are you saying,, Take some Engrish lessons Bub.. :-/

  • A terrible nice lay-out, and nice trains as well ofcourse.

  • Nice layout, I shall have to see if you have any videos of it after you added scenary. Alone though, it looks great.

  • @GardeBlaze I've started adding scenery now. Check out some of my new videos,

  • You must be an architect.

  • nice job < i was born in roxborough,so I know the green lane bridge well. talk about your control panel and the backdrop please

  • wow nice job, thats very large! hey what is your main line run length, i know mine is only about 35 feet, but it works for me, because i can run 29 car trains, and they still loook ok, but yet still run all the locals that i love to do. nice job!

  • The double mianline is 85ft long. I also have a branch line that is 39ft long. it also acts as one of the reversing loops. The whole layout occupies a space 13-1/2x16ft.

  • Dang man that's a big layout. Love the way it twist's and turns all over the place. Looks good though. Keep up the good work.

  • lolwut? fake horn. Sounds like you were just blowing over the top of an empty glass bottle

  • That's funny. It wasn't a horn, someone upstairs was moving a chair around on the wood floor. I never even thought of it sounding like a horn. If it was, it would be a pretty lame horn.

  • lol sorry well it sounded like someone was blowing over the top of an empty bottle.

blowing over the top of an empty bottle for a horn sound effect does sound really stupid

  • i was just wondering how do i wire a point motor to a controller? maybe you can make a vid? Good layout 11/10 !! =]

  • very very cool layout, i might have asked you this before but how did you clean all that track.

  • anytime i need motivation on my layout, i just take a peek at your layout. One of the coolest on the tube!

  • Thanks,

I'm glad you get inspiration from my videos. It makes it worth it putting them on the net.

  • ^_^ That same Ryobi drill serves well for my CSX layout! I see the video was from 07, Have you gotten much of the scenery added in by now?

  • I have started some of the layouts scenery. Mainly structures, but I have got some of the cardboard mountain forms in on one half of the layout. My Dad and I have been working on the electronics (SPDT toggles) for the turnouts. Go to my Youtube page to see the latest videos.

  • @lbss09 Scenery has begun, Check out some of my newer videos.

  • wow thats a lot, im building a low budget train line xD

  • how much money did it take to buy all that track?

  • The track cost about $1,100. If you go to my main page on Youtube, you can see a link to the complete progress report on this layout. It cronicals it from the very beginning. On page 3 of the thread, at the bottom, we start to discuss the cost of this layout. The thread is about 28 pages long, so sit back and enjoy the info.

  • good so far nice frame work. a lil bit too close for the tracks but still nice job.

  • a big mess, but a good layout

  • didnt think you would have time for a job nice work and safe railroading

  • great videos keep em coming Im using some of your ideas , you have a full time job too

  • Thanks for the comments. Have you chaeck out my full progress thread I have. You can find the link on my Youtube home page.

I hope I have a full time job... otherwise I'm spending 55+ hours a week at a hardware store for fun and not getting paid. ;-)

  • how much money did you spend on just the track! wow! great space!

  • The track was about $1100. I found a really good deal at a hobbyshop in NYC.

    Nagengast Hardware and Hobby

    Est. 1947

    68-02 Fresh Pond Rd.

    Ridgewood N.Y. 11385

    718.821.1319

The guy, Hans, is very nice to work with.

  • thanks i'll never go... i live out west thatnks though :)

  • I never went either. I did it through the mail. It was cheaper then paying the bridge tolls across the Hudson river.

  • Is cool! I have a nce power cab. Do you know about the model rail roader mag sweepstakes?

  • what DCC set do you have?

  • I use the NCE Powercab. My Dad and I both have one of the systems. I really like the NCE throttles, very easy to use. I find the Powercab has enough power to run the 3-4 trains that my Dad and I can handle at one time. How do you like your NCE system?

  • you should test everyone of your trains on this layout when its finsihed

  • I'd love to have that amount of space good job

  • For a home layout, this is HUGE!! Very amazing!

  • It's not to big. The space it occupies is 13'x16' HO scale. The minimum radius is 24", only in 2 place.

I can't wait to get the scenery going. That's my favorite part of the hobby.

  • Simply Outstanding!!!. This is going to be great to watch this layout come together. Keep up the great work and keep posting the update videos. I know I will be waiting and watching.
