80 % of the people here, wont be in church on sunday, who really knows if there is a life after death. has anyone returned and told us. I remember a preacher said raise your hand if you wanna go to heaven, everyone raise hands. then he said who wants to go right now? NO hand for that. everyone wants to go to heaven ,but no body wants to DIE
RIP Christopher. I loved you for being the penultimate contrarian with a gift of intelligent argument. I hope you were wrong about the atheism thing and that you and God had a good laugh about that.
@Moonchalice Good riddance to the braying jackass Christ' Hitchens who supported the sanctions and the war of pelf against Iraq. [Lesley Stahl on U.S. sanctions against Iraq: "We have heard that a half million children have died. I mean, that's more children than died in Hiroshima. And, you know, is the price worth it?"; Secretary of State Madeleine Albright: "I think this is a very hard choice, but the price--we think the price is worth it." — "60 Minutes" (5/12/96)]
Hey guys, I’m working on a website, and hopefully a book of where we can compile letters from people all over the world about the influence Hitchens had on them. Please e-mail anything you wish to say to letterstohitchens@gmail.com.
Wikipedia: Hitchens has written of his homosexual experiences when in boarding school in his memoir, "Hitch-22." These experiences continued in his college years when he allegedly had relationships with two men who eventually became a part of the Thatcher government.
Was sodomite Christ' Hitchens' hollow death an early Christmas gift, or retribution for the total-war that he endorsed against the mothers & children of the Arab sphere?
Read the chapter entitled 'Faith' in "The Audacity of Hope" and you will see that Obama absolutely does retain a certain level of faith. To say that he is a non-believer simply runs contrary to what Obama actually says in his book. He DOES make seemingly secular arguments and clearly has a moderate and admittedly skeptical view of Christianity; but, all the evidence would suggest that Obama is, at least somewhat, spiritual.
Tumorous masses aren't always dangerous, nor is it always wise to surgically remove them. The malignant cells w/i a tumor are errant healing cells. Healing cells are trophoblasts, the selfsame cells that form pre-embryonic tissue. Errant/useless trophoblastic (malignant) growth is arrested with Amygdalin (vitamin B17). Amygdalin is abundant in the seeds of 1,200 common fruits, except citrus. Watch G. Edward Griffin's 1974 documentary: "World Without Cancer."
If you believe everything a politician tells you about beliefs, policies etc.. Then you're obviously deluded. They will say anything and do anything to get into power and it wouldn't be the first time in history someone has lied about beliefs to gain power. Judge people on what they do and not what they say.
You couldn't put any thing past Christopher Hitchens! If you wrote it, he read it!
Saying President Obama isn't a believer is like saying Jefferson and Washington weren't believers after reading the letters the founding fathers wrote to each other.
Which, er, um, okay, maybe we should't read those particular letters.
We say God Save The Queen and the Queen is the head of the church of England and the Queen of England. Surely thats the same thing as saying God save Britain, more or less.... In my view the world would be a better place without religion in all its many forms.
No leading British politician would say God bless Britain or mention his own personal beliefs..............It is just not the done thing. Probably a throw back to King Henry V111 who went on a killing spree when the pope would not give him his divorce.
A British leader will be elected regardless of his/her belief in god. Infact they have to keep their personal belief to themselves. This aint the case in America which is drugged on religion so any potential leader has to bullshit they do believe, and declare so openly. Obama is probably lying, Clinton almost certainly was.
@Ali74 People overestimate how religious America is, and Britain has it own religious problems, specifically the hereditary monarchy which is innately religious. If Britain wants to be seen as progressive and secular, they should abolish the monarchy.
i personally think its hilarious we have a morman running for president and am all for him. the more bizare and unconventional the candidates beliefs gets, the closer america gets to having an atheist run for president.
As much as I don't want religion in politics, this is kind of a stretch for even Hitchens. John McCain is also like Obama in the way that the doesn't express himself religiously. Im a realist, not a cynic. I think it's cynical to assume that someone's intelligence is based on faith or non-faith. It's just not right or moral. Im saying this because I like Obama and he has shown more tolerance towards people of other faith along with his own than certainty the last administration.
US congresswoman Cynthia McKinney has come out and blamed the pro-Israel Lobby in America (AIPAC, ADL, ZOA, etc) for ruining her political career. While in congress she refused to sign the pro-Israel pledge and took a pro-Palestinian stance. Because of this, McKinney said “war was declared” on her by the Jewish lobby. In 2009 she told TIU's Ognir that “more than 99% of Congress work for Pro Zionist Israeli interests.”
Crapped-out sodomite Christ' Hitchens died for his faith: the faith that radio waves, and the accompanying radiation-sickness, is organically therapeutic in regards to eradicating malignant (neoplastigenic) growth from mammalian tissue.
The Book of Revelations is about Nero's Rome, when John was imprisoned on the island of Tarsus, you fucking twat. You have to do more than read the Bible like a numbskull, you have to contextualize it.
@xxxxxxedwardxxxxx Are you retarded? I just explained that The Book of Revelations is not a fucking magical prediction of the future. In fact, I asked him to take the book out of superstition and analyze it from the historical context in which it was written. Using a cute zeugma does not real rhetoric make, Twi-tard. Attacking a person's philosophical beliefs doesn't make you more intelligent than them, either. As Hitchens said in this very video, don't tell me how to play with my toys.
@UraharaItsumo Not just attacking, stateing fact will get you there too, I didn't know you were summing up the book. I thought you were just going on of rambleing about a God. So my apology goes out to that.
few years back, hitch was scheduled to speak @ new york's asia society;i made a point of arriving early & was rewarded when i ran into him [& rushdie] in the restroom; he was everything i had imagined - courteous, engaging, curious; unsurprisingly,he knew more about the corner of the world i hail from (kashmir, india) than i did. i was mesmerized & giddy like a school girl who meets her idol.
hitch makes me hope against reason that there be an afterlife, so i may get to hang with him again.
@Saebeck32 - I have to disagree for the same reason I disagree with Hitchens on this topic. His argument is "Obama is lying about being a Christian because I don't believe he's a Christian because he's an intelligent man". That's little more than wishful thinking not based on empirical evidence. It's also nothing more than a stereotype because there are plenty of intelligent people who are Christians. Such as some scientists. There are intelligent theists/religious people and dumb atheists.
@A86 Very true. But Obama wasn't brought up religious, and he joined his church in chicago for the community ties. Even as a member he hardly attended, and he's given several speeches about how silly the bible is. I think he's playing politics by pretending to be religious. I wush he could come out and say "I don't believe in fairy tales"
@Saebeck32 - One can end up being a Christian being raised in a non-Christian household. Many famous atheists were born in Christian or religious households.
Actually, my mother, a devout Christian, claims to not believe in fairy tales. That's the thing about religious people - they usually don't consider their beliefs to be "fairy tales". XD That's usually the perception nonbelievers have of their beliefs or the perceptions most religious people have of miracle stories from other religions.
@Saebeck32 - Even back when I considered myself part of the Christian religion I didn't believe half the stories in the Bible literally occurred and I even admitted the historical Jesus may not have performed some or most of the things attributed to him by the Apostles. I acknowledged they may have been symbolism or exaggerated rhetorical devices meant to portray how great he was to the authors. Something akin to American Tall Tales.
@A86 Once you acknowledge that these are simply "tall tales" doesn't that logically mean you are not a believer? I too can appreciate the philosophy of Jesus, but I don't believe in anything supernatural. I believe Obama shares my view, hence he is not truly religious.
@Saebeck32 - Sorry I forgot to check in to see if you had responded.
"doesn't that logically mean you are not a believer?"
That depends on whether or not you accept the conservative Christian view that you have to be Biblical literalist in order to be a believer. Many Christians would disagree with that view. In the case of Obama he never said he doesn't believe in anything supernatural, or that he doesn't take any of the miraculous tales in the Bible literally.
@Saebeck32 - I watched the whole video and where did he say he doesn't believe in the supernatural? He implied he doesn't believe the Bible is inerrant and said that unlike Bush he won't invoke his religious faith to defend his positions on issues. He also said that religious people should stop letting their faith drive them to religion-specific loyalty and more towards universalism.
After 3:00 he simply says religious faith shouldn't guide policy as it doesn't allow for much compromise.
@Saebeck32 - After 2:05 he even says he's opposed to Bush for religious reasons, but as a political leader he shouldn't use his religious faith or proclamations of what he believes "God" said as the basis of policy. He reaffirms that argument at 3:30. My Christian mother would agree with Obama that the US is not truly a "Christian nation" and that religious belief shouldn't determine legal policy. Obama begins the speech noting sectarianism is dangerous and discriminates against nonbelievers.
The U.S. marines are tough! They can bravely defeat any child. A pregnant woman is no match for a squadron of brave marines either! And the elderly? They'd better say their prayers when the U.S. marines come to town!
To the delight of You-Tube's legions of tattooed, pierced, unemployed, disenfranchised, unread 20-somethings the croaked Christ' Hitchens was: a homosexual, a Marxist and a war-monger.
Homosexual coition NEVER begets children. One can easily verify this unfair fact with a biology book placed beneath the rump of participant #2. Homosex NEVER begets children, therefore by definition "marriage" (marinade, marination) is only possible between a man and a woman. A special, intimate friendship among 2 men is not marriage by definition.
Wikipedia: Hitchens has written of his homosexual experiences when in boarding school in his memoir, "Hitch-22." These experiences continued in his college years when he allegedly had relationships with two men who eventually became a part of the Thatcher government.
Was sodomite Christ' Hitchens' hollow death an early Christmas gift in retribution for the total-war that he endorsed against the mothers & children of the Arab sphere?
All have sinned and greatly offended the holy God of the bible. The just punishment is death then hell. That's not Gods will. He suffered and died on the cross paying for the law you broke in His life's blood so He could legally dismiss your case. You must repent turn from your sin and trust alone in Jesus Christ for your salvation.
it's sad to watch the blind leading the blind tumnling into their own graves. This man has unfortunately caused many to stumble in their faltering walk in search for truth. His intellectual arrogance could only bring destruction to himself and many of those who ignorantly follow his godless dictums.

Look, you can either accept science which isnt proven, but has a huge ammount of evidence supporting it, or you can live in a childish dreamland where peter pan and fairys are real, which is ridicolous because we have found so much evidence against the bible and have shown that it can not be proven true.
Jesus is the truth and the way, get to know him before its too late,, the devil is hoping to remove all that represent and belong to Christ and there will be a famine for the word of God, as only the counterfeit will be allowed to flourish,,, as long as the devil has a form of godliness it suits his purpose as he wants to be worshipped as God, which is what he started war in heave to try to do. God is real, the sooner we get to know him the better,,
the devil is going to have almost the entire world worship him as God before Jesus returns, what he could not do in heaven decieiving angels, he will do on earth,, see how many people celebrate Christmas and its a pagan festival... the devil will use God to be God, but its still only a counterfeit. if people dont get to know the real creator God and his Son they will fall for the devils counterfeit and his impersonation for all the world to see,
Hitchens (and Ann Coulter) may very well be right about Obama. But I wouldn't call him a hypocrite for having a church. No politician can go very far in US politics if they proclaim themselves to be a non believer. At least Hitchens & Coulter aren't stupid enough to call him a Muslim.
So is the message that the late Mr. Hitchens is saying here is that it's OK to lie about being a theist in order to gain public office rather than to be honest with the voters about one's atheism instead? Sounds like an endorsement of hypocrisy to me.
This doesn't raise my opinion of Obama. He's a lying, thieving, murdering, slime-dripping scumbag. Within a few days time he will sign away our 5th amendment rights.
I disagree with those who say "there will only be one Christopher Hitchens."
Out there somewhere another is waiting to take his place. I just hope it happens within my life time. I hope his passing doesn't mean reason has died with him
@sammy2trees You are a moron Ditchen's there As his festering soul rots in hell. had anything but reason. for in his life he was ANYTHING but Reasonable. and Therefore to even suggest that reason may have died with him or the suggestion that it might have shows how ignorant you are. This man is not willingly getting his assfucked in hell as all closest Homo's do. Insane men like himself that same fate awaits all just like him Dawkin's is next on the list. Praise God Hallajuh
Oh you can't possibly expect me to take you serious after a pathetic reply like that!
You clearly hold hateful and intolerant points of view and the profanity is a clue to just how pissed off you are. And then you have the gall to top it off by acknowledging praise to a deity that is suppose to be peaceful, loving, and tolerant by nature and mandates that his adherents be the same. Please don't make me embarrass you further, angry dude.
@LordEli Oh your god!!! You must be homo if you think that Hitchens is homo. Look at the way you wrote homo, it's capitalized! Hmm... What does Freud have to say about that?...
@shade9592 You are pathetic you say God with a capital you fucking fagboy queer. and typing Homo with caps don't mean jack shit hever you are indeed a Homosecual as is anyrock22 for his sick perverted fantasy I realize you are all like you are indeed without a shadow of a doubt and with all Truth are gonna burn generously in the fire of hell.. But Hell is worse than fire.. considering it pile in stacks of living corpses buried underneath a rotten earth screaming for all eternity beneath my feet.
@LordEli What the bloody fucking hell is a homosecual with a capital H???
Sigh... Go to school... It's never too late. You'll learn a lot. If someone calls you ignorant, bear with it. We're all ignorant about something.
But if you go around giving people bullshit, then prepare to be ridiculed. What did I learn from your reply? Nothing. At least I have Sigmund Freud's last name written on my comment. Did you even care to look it up?! You're in the internet for crying out loud!!!
@shade9592 Oh you little bitch HA HA HA You pick out the one typo as if you've got something. HA HA HA You fucking worm you atheist halfwits got alot to learn before you tell others to go back to school AH HA HA HA. sad little wanker
@shade9592 Sure ya did, and tell me why be typing words that I had typed..somewhere? you making document of some sort? eh to feed your little atheist friends and create more propaganda Accusing Christian's for my actions of stomping the ignorance out of you? Christian's are to Kind to Intelligent and far to Superior a people tow aste their time on you. No You people belong to me. And as Destiny has it.. I will tear your Soul's apart.
@LordEli I think that your errors in capitalization and general grammar are enough to make any person ignore you for fear that they were reading the ramblings of a dumbass. Hard to focus on the subject matter with such a poorly written statement.
@KaHabbful There are always more cock suckers like you in the works I get rid one one dumbfuck and in comes another. Now fuckwit before go on about typoes and grammar and well placed caps where I may. realize queerbait that this is the internet and it's fucking youtube and if your worried about that shit here then. its you that has the serious fucking problem not anyone else. now check yourself into a Psyche ward and get sane. Bye bye,.
@LordEli Awww I must have hurt your feelings lol Man you theists really must make your god proud. Funny, you have the imaginary friend and you are telling me to go to the psyche ward.
@KaHabbful There you go halucinating again. You couldn't hurt my feelings even if I let you take your best shot. You rebelious little so called atheists need to come to terms with reality.
@bout LordEli 'So called atheists'? Ha ha, this total nutjob thinks that his own belief of disbelief of the existence of things establishes them. Yes, you are a brain in a jar. Die now with your inane relativist concept of reality.
@JAWWDC Oh fuck off you little moornic fucking teen cry baby. You wqorried about grammar what fucking typical dipshit moorn turd. Stay in school and bury yourself under some books ya worthless prick because you step real world. people like me will take your head off for such ridiculous obscene falsified claims and observations
@LordEli Eli, the "real world"? Seriously?....I'm 41 AND I'm about twice as smart as you (genetically), I can tell that by reading your "about me" description.
You're wasting your life spending time on a mindless crusade. My recommendation - go find some hot woman and spend the week having sex......you'll be much better off.
@JAWWDC 41 eh? Means you spent 41 years of life wasted getting brainwashed into the atheist evolution propaganda. And moron there is no fucking such thing as genetic "intelligence" You fucking retard. You are no where near as Intelligent as I nor will you ever become so. try evolving your way into a thing called reality. fuckwit.
@LordEli That's not very religious of you, all the hatred and swearing... oh wait. You talk about getting into reality and yet you believe that we began six thousand years ago and the original humans were fooled into eating an apple by a talking snake... I think I know who had the larger grasp on reality here.
How is it "propaganda"? Surely I could argue that the Bible, Koran or any other Holy Book is also just propaganda trying to indoctrinate people through false hope and fear.
@LordEli From what I've read of your in-progress argument you swear and bitch as a defense mechanism for when you cannot refute someone elses argument, you're like a child.
@SomeOddworld If there actually was an argument to be in defense of. Ha you are as dumb as the rest of these infidelic atheist scum. I don't even consider what you say for the most part as an intelligent conversation thus whats to argue about? You people will learn. Inferior things..
@LordEli If there's a Hell I hope you go to it. You don't actually say anything intelligent you just bitch and moan and say how much better you are than everyone else.
I'm dumb? You're the one who can barely string a sentence together without an insult or swear. Grow up, I can imagine you being 10 years old. Also follow your beliefs, you're meant to be kind and forgiving, I'm giving you a chance to make an intelligent statement but you refuse to do so.
@SomeOddworld :props feet up on your back; Good doggy Bark like a little bitch for me. Everytime you irrational nonbelieving pukes respond it just shows everyone who is different than Both you and I, That I truely have bested all of your type that come at me. You sweat me. Me I laugh at you and smack ya back down again. crawl for me bitches
@LordEli You haven't bested me. I consider you a moron with no clear sense of anything that you're talking about. Smacked me down? You haven't said anything in actual response to what I've said, you've just whined and bitched like every other comment.
Offer me some fallible evidence of your belief system (trust me, I've looked a lot for it) and I'll listen, until then please crawl back into your little troll cave and don't come out.
@EasingDifficulties "Bitched" isn't a swear in the context that I said it in, if I had said it as an insult it would've been however by that I meant constant complaining, which is a commonly used phrase.
Don't say I'm cursing even if I did swear only once and then ignore the actually cursing guy because he shares your belief system (which is obviously what you're doing).
@EasingDifficulties Plus by that logic the entirety of language would be defunct because I could choose a word, but that would be unneccesary as there would be another word for it, and so on and so on until you run out of words.
@SomeOddworld : This is a public venue. There's nothing unnatural about your bodily functions, but there is a proper time & a place for all things. You've only accomplished one thing: you have demeaned yourself.
@SomeOddworld : This is a public venue. There's nothing unnatural about your bodily functions, but there is a proper time & a place for all things. You've only accomplished one thing: you have demeaned yourself.
@SomeOddworld This is a public venue. There's nothing unnatural about your bodily functions, but there is a proper time & a place for all things. You've only accomplished one thing: you have demeaned yourself.
@LordEli Your personal problems ARE important. You are but one of countless You-Tube degenerates who can't post a comment without alluding to bodily functions.
@LordEli Was sodomite Christ' Hitchens' hollow death an early Christmas gift, or retribution for the total-war that he endorsed against the mothers & children of the Arab sphere?
@sammy2trees I disagree with you... There will only be one Christopher Hitchens. But that doesn't mean that there never be anyone who will match or even surpass him in all his faculties and attributes.
I disagree with those who say "there will only be one Christopher Hitchens."
Out there somewhere another is waiting to take his place. I just hope it happens within my life time. I hope his passing doesn't mean reason has died with him"
lol...LOL....
RIP? Really...?
Requiescat in pace, Latin catholic phraseology?
Do you know how many times Hitchens called the catholic church a gang of pederasts?
@sammy2trees Maybe take his place - but he was very unique in the way her used words and the delivery of those word to make a point. He was in a class of his own. Putting the myth-believers in their place is something he could do like no other.
If we keep waiting as the top comment suggests by "TheRealScarr" eventually the atheists will fabricate that the pilgrims were atheists in disguise of Christians. I can see it now and people would believe them.
Ohh and FYI, I am against religion but KNOW God exists. Just becuase religion is always bullshit and dogma doesn't mean scienc can't find the evedience for God, did you even look that up? has science found God? maybe you need to!
Barack Obama's father by the way wasn't Muslim. He was an atheist. I wouldn't be surprised if his son is an atheist as well. Anyway, Obama had to say that he's Christian simply because if he said otherwise, people wouldn't vote for him. Religious prejudice in the US is far greater than the racial prejudice.
I feel sorry for this guy...he is SO prideful thay he would rather believe that everything came from nothing than believe the bible, which is tested and proven!... now God has allowed him to be ill...his days are numbered...i pray that he repent
@I21GenieLee Where do you religious people get this nonsense? I've never heard a single non-believer say that everything came from nothing, EVER! Yet, I hear the religious telling people that we say this all the time. Where have you ever heard someone say everything came from nothing?
Atheists, bunch of self hating, arrogant , bigoted, pseudo intellectual faggots, all of them are the worst "people on Earth!!".......... Replying to this comment will be completely ignored b'cos having an intellectual argument with atheists is pointless; their hubris blinds their common sense which is very limited anyway, and they think they know everything there is to know which is pathetic and frankly quite amusing............God have mercy on their vile souls!
@mysticman7765 It's funny, because atheists are the ones saying "I don't know" to some of the biggest questions in life such as "where did the universe come from" and the religious people are the ones claiming that they have all the answers. And yet, you say that atheists are the ones claiming to know everything, sounds like bad logic to me. Also, "faggots", homophobic much?
Anybody else notice that according to Christian mindsets when arguing for their pathetic, idiot's beliefs, they accidentally admit that Satan has more power and dominion of Earth than their precious Yahweh does? "How do you explain the fact Jesus was plagiarised from ancient religions?" "The Devil made those religions to confuse you!" "Then why didn't god stop him if he's more powerful?" "In order to trick people with lesser faith than the devout!" So god's an impotent prick!!!
Hitch is correct. If Barry O. had any respect at all for his anthropologist-mother (and I think he had a great deal), who relayed to him a kid's version of the social origins of religion a la Margaret Meade, et al., there's no way he is actually a believer today. Probably in about 10 years, when it can no longer either hurt his political viability or confuse his own beloved children, he will admit he was an atheist his whole adult life.
@50zcarsman I disagree... you could be right, but I know plenty of people who have learned the social origins of religion who still believe in it. Some people think rationality is limited. Science and logic are only useful in the sense that they can be used validate SHARED beliefs... but one can have individual beliefs, based on how good it feels or faith or intuition
Why can't we all just get rid of the christians? they're too stupid to deserve to be here anyway. that's why thepilgrims left England in the first place, to get away from that stupid scumbag bullshit.
@TheRealScarr The Pilgrims were hardcore, tyrannical Puritans who forced the members of their society to abide by rigid laws that violated the sanctity of human life. They WERE the stupid scumbag bullshit.

@remastered1950ford I'd say that's incorrect, specifically if you're an anti theist. To many people, the idea is oppressive.

elfornse 3 weeks ago 3
As much as I don't want religion in politics, this is kind of a stretch for even Hitchens. John McCain is also like Obama in the way that the doesn't express himself religiously. Im a realist, not a cynic. I think it's cynical to assume that someone's intelligence is based on faith or non-faith. It's just not right or moral. Im saying this because I like Obama and he has shown more tolerance towards people of other faith along with his own than certainty the last administration.

Who REALLY runs our world?
US congresswoman Cynthia McKinney has come out and blamed the pro-Israel Lobby in America (AIPAC, ADL, ZOA, etc) for ruining her political career. While in congress she refused to sign the pro-Israel pledge and took a pro-Palestinian stance. Because of this, McKinney said “war was declared” on her by the Jewish lobby. In 2009 she told TIU's Ognir that “more than 99% of Congress work for Pro Zionist Israeli interests.”

Obama is too smart to be religious.
Saebeck32 1 month ago 2
@Saebeck32 - I have to disagree for the same reason I disagree with Hitchens on this topic. His argument is "Obama is lying about being a Christian because I don't believe he's a Christian because he's an intelligent man". That's little more than wishful thinking not based on empirical evidence. It's also nothing more than a stereotype because there are plenty of intelligent people who are Christians. Such as some scientists. There are intelligent theists/religious people and dumb atheists.
A86 4 weeks ago
@A86 Very true. But Obama wasn't brought up religious, and he joined his church in chicago for the community ties. Even as a member he hardly attended, and he's given several speeches about how silly the bible is. I think he's playing politics by pretending to be religious. I wush he could come out and say "I don't believe in fairy tales"
Saebeck32 4 weeks ago
@Saebeck32 - One can end up being a Christian being raised in a non-Christian household. Many famous atheists were born in Christian or religious households.
Actually, my mother, a devout Christian, claims to not believe in fairy tales. That's the thing about religious people - they usually don't consider their beliefs to be "fairy tales". XD That's usually the perception nonbelievers have of their beliefs or the perceptions most religious people have of miracle stories from other religions.
A86 4 weeks ago
@Saebeck32 - Even back when I considered myself part of the Christian religion I didn't believe half the stories in the Bible literally occurred and I even admitted the historical Jesus may not have performed some or most of the things attributed to him by the Apostles. I acknowledged they may have been symbolism or exaggerated rhetorical devices meant to portray how great he was to the authors. Something akin to American Tall Tales.
I know Christians like that and Obama may be one.
A86 4 weeks ago
@A86 Once you acknowledge that these are simply "tall tales" doesn't that logically mean you are not a believer? I too can appreciate the philosophy of Jesus, but I don't believe in anything supernatural. I believe Obama shares my view, hence he is not truly religious.
Saebeck32 4 weeks ago
@Saebeck32 - Sorry I forgot to check in to see if you had responded.
"doesn't that logically mean you are not a believer?"
That depends on whether or not you accept the conservative Christian view that you have to be Biblical literalist in order to be a believer. Many Christians would disagree with that view. In the case of Obama he never said he doesn't believe in anything supernatural, or that he doesn't take any of the miraculous tales in the Bible literally.
A86 4 weeks ago
@A86 Yes he has: /watch?v=YUbf3purr_E
Saebeck32 4 weeks ago
@Saebeck32 - I watched the whole video and where did he say he doesn't believe in the supernatural? He implied he doesn't believe the Bible is inerrant and said that unlike Bush he won't invoke his religious faith to defend his positions on issues. He also said that religious people should stop letting their faith drive them to religion-specific loyalty and more towards universalism.
After 3:00 he simply says religious faith shouldn't guide policy as it doesn't allow for much compromise.
A86 4 weeks ago
@Saebeck32 - After 2:05 he even says he's opposed to Bush for religious reasons, but as a political leader he shouldn't use his religious faith or proclamations of what he believes "God" said as the basis of policy. He reaffirms that argument at 3:30. My Christian mother would agree with Obama that the US is not truly a "Christian nation" and that religious belief shouldn't determine legal policy. Obama begins the speech noting sectarianism is dangerous and discriminates against nonbelievers.
A86 4 weeks ago
@Saebeck32 He could never do that lol.

EasingDifficulties 1 month ago
Homosexual coition NEVER begets children. One can easily verify this unfair fact with a biology book placed beneath the rump of participant #2. Homosex NEVER begets children, therefore by definition "marriage" (marinade, marination) is only possible between a man and a woman. A special, intimate friendship among 2 men is not marriage by definition.

@mysticman7765 Way to blow your own head off! Congrats!!!

Why would you play only 1 minute and cut it off mid-sentence?
Because you're a corn hole!

@50zcarsman It's deathly important for Obama to be as different from you as possible, isn't it? Also, where do you get your tinfoil hats?
Graynumber 2 months ago
@50zcarsman I disagree... you could be right, but I know plenty of people who have learned the social origins of religion who still believe in it. Some people think rationality is limited. Science and logic are only useful in the sense that they can be used validate SHARED beliefs... but one can have individual beliefs, based on how good it feels or faith or intuition

@50zcarsman What's with the Barry O.? Is that supposed to be sort of under the radar slam?

Why can't we all just get rid of the christians? they're too stupid to deserve to be here anyway. that's why thepilgrims left England in the first place, to get away from that stupid scumbag bullshit.

@TheRealScarr Dude, the pilgrims were hardcore christians lmao
zeppelin2224 2 months ago
@zeppelin2224 Agreed. They weren't fleeing religion, they were just fleeing the imposed religion of the Anglican church.
objectivechristian 2 months ago
@zeppelin2224 Nope, they were puritains. Which is another form of a cult based on some of the tenets of the christian cult.

@TheRealScarr Why are you so full of hate?
zeppelin2224 2 months ago
@zeppelin2224 It's not hate, it's truth. Christians are the worst people on the face of the earth.

@TheRealScarr The truth is you are a vile bigot who is too blinded by hatred to see your own true nature.
It's not worth it for me to debate such a hateful person. So this is my last post. gl

@TheRealScarr The Pilgrims were hardcore, tyrannical Puritans who forced the members of their society to abide by rigid laws that violated the sanctity of human life. They WERE the stupid scumbag bullshit.
