The hardest thing on earth.......... is to be a True Christian....... in our current society it is almost impossible..... Save us Father ...... We are weak and without you we are nothing...... Glory be to God.
@nelsitotovar You are breaking the 3rd commandment :“You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.
Sureandsteadfast you should take Paul Washer's advice. Paul Washer is not against seminary per se, but he is against the attitudes that can manifest themselves. I speak as a seminarian. If the young man that was turned away doesn't have the passions to pursue God in his regular life he won't anywhere else. Also, his preaching does NOT lack power. You guys need to stop spending so much posting and criticizing him and get your act together.
he's a good theologian. But his preaching lacks power. He turned someone away from missions because he didn't read the Bible? Maybe he should try reading it himself :). The 11 guys who brought the gospel this far were uneducated men. The downfall of the modern church is that it values human knowledge and credentials above the Spirit's power. Jesus only required someone who was willing to give their life away, that young man was it, and he got turned away. That is very unfortunate.
@danielraysir very true, the downfall of the modern church is its priority on credentials. However, the reason Jesus only required someone who was willing to give their life away was because He was physically on this earth and He would teach and fellowship with both the believing and unbelieving. The reason why Washer turned that young man away is because his prayer life is reflective of his communion with Christ. If there is no communion, how would Washer even know this man was converted?
@SureAndSteadfast The thing about Jesus is He trusted people before they ever deserved to be trusted. Judas was the treasurer of their little group. Lol.
Alternatively, he could do like the old days and bring the kid to heal a sick person :). The bible says believers will lay hands on the sick and they will recover, what better way to see if he's converted.
@danielraysir: Before anything was created Jesus, the 2nd person of the Trinity, called Judas the son of destruction. He didn't trust Judas at all. Judas role was ordained by God (Romans 9). Like Pharoah, Judas existed for God's glory.
@theocratickingdom30 For Jesus not trusting Judas, He sure made a bright decision to make Judas the treasurer of their money. God ordaining people for destruction is a lie. If God predestined people for destruction, why does He plead with them throughout the entire Bible to be reconciled to Him and receive life? That's a tad bit counter-productive, don't you think? "I'm not willing that ANYONE should perish, but for ALL to come to repentance... psyche!" (2 Peter 3:9). I don't see that in there.
@danielraysir How can one who does not read the Bible, the living word of God, know God? And how must one spread the word of God if he does not know the word of God? The desire to do missionary work should not come from a kind and loving heart, it should come from a REGENERATE soul that has been reborn through Christ, and through Christ, you NEED to spread the word of the Father and the Son. It is the work of God within you that calls you to spread the gospel.
@ingramw1202 Ask the apostles how you can know God without reading the Bible. They didn't even have one. They had the Spirit of God and trusted Him, not a book. Notice that the Word became flesh, not paper.
"You have your heads in your Bibles constantly because you think you'll find eternal life there. But you miss the forest for the trees. These Scriptures are all about me! And here I am, standing right before you, and you aren't willing to receive from me the life you say you want." John 5:39
@danielraysir Why did the apostles not need to read the bible friend? Because Jesus Christ walked upon the Earth and showed them the way of God. Jesus was light that came into the world, but man loved the darkness rather than the light. By reading the Bible, you learn the attributes of God. Many who don't read, do not truly know him. No, you should not worship the Bible as you worship God. But, by you claiming that reading the written word of God is not necessary, you acknowledge the notion
@danielraysir that those who may have never even heard of the Gospel can be saved. From where does all of our knowledge of the Father and the Spirit and Jesus Christ come? Jesus Christ no longer walks the Earth in the flesh. Yes, the holy spirit fills us, for we do the work of God and give him our hearts and souls and very lives. But does the holy spirit fill unreached people groups who have never heard of him? Think of the logic behind your assumptions. Would you yourself have any knowledge of
@danielraysir of God or the sacrifice made by his son if you had never read the Bible? Can one who simply knows that Jesus died to save us from our own wickedness truly know the will of God? How can you know the commandments of a loving but powerful Judge if you do not even read what he himself has said? Can you follow the rules and guidelines that Jesus Christ himself spoke without even knowing what Jesus Christ said? Jesus said that he is the vine and we are the branches. If we don't abide in
@danielraysir abide in him and HIS teachings, then we can never truly know Him. If you do not seek to live as he lived, walk as he walked, and conform your life to every commandment he gave, all the while loving him more than the life of your mother, father, brother, sister, wife, and even your own life, then you do not know salvation and do not know the Jesus Christ who walked upon this earth two thousand years ago. As Mr. Washer says, if you want to do missions, but lack a zeal for God
@danielraysir then you are better off joining the peace corps. But the God of all creation commands us to go forth and make disciples of all nations. And we do it because it is he who lives inside of us. Yes, Jesus was standing right before the apostles. And even now, he sends the helper to fill his own with the holy spirit. But Jesus was carried of to heaven after walking the earth for 40 days after his resurrection. He now sits at the right hand of the Father. Read the word, and you will know
@danielraysir know him. And on your comment "Jesus only required someone who was willing to give their life away." That is true, but not the entire story. Jesus only required someone who was willing to give their life away to seek the heart of the Lord and to follow the living God himself. People give their lives away every day, rarely for the purpose of fulfilling the will of God. Yes, we value intelligence as a society. Yes, the apostles were uneducated. But what happens in Acts when the holy
@danielraysir holy spirit comes upon the apostles? Do they not speak in many different languages and speak as if they were educated? They articulate their purpose through their speech which was given by the holy spirit. So, if one claims to know God but does not read his very commands, then in order for the truth to be in them they must be illiterate and have had someone read the word of God to them so that they truly understand his heart. I mean..look at 1 John..how many "christians" live
@danielraysir live their lives without conforming to the will of God? How many continually indulge in sin? I have nothing else to say on the matter except that this comes from a place of love brother. I once assumed that I could be a christian and not read the word of God. Then, I started reading it and realized my life was all wrong according to Jesus Christ. My whole life was a lie, and I kept reading to find him and his will. Peace be with you.
@misteRiOuZz100 demons? really? I dunno about that... how is that Biblical? I came from the charismatic movement and my family is still a large part of it. and it isnt a phenomena, you can look at the historical documentation of the movement. Hello, I´m from Amazonia and I´m seeking for some help, I want to translate Paul Washer sermons to my language, and to do a good job I´m asking help, Does someone who wants to help can send me the text in english ?? My job will be much faster than to just listen the audio. Does someone wants to help me?
I like Paul Washer, but I don't know how much of his stuff is acting and how much is actually from the Holy Spirit.
I only say this because he said it himself in one of his early sermons:
"I will act as a dying man to dying people."
This shows that a part of his preaching IS an act... whether you would like to believe it or not.
I pray some day he could get baptized by the Holy Spirit (evidence of tongues)... I believe he would have more joy in his preaching and no part would be an act.
@NobodySpecial85 Haha, you can't prove it either way unless you're a very close friend of his. You're arrogance to conclude a fact quickly about someone is never good in the church of God. However, Paul Washer may be condemned but we don't know his heart. You don't know, cause you're just picking a marble out of the bag.Luke 16:15 And he said to them, "You are those who justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts. For what is exalted among men is an abomination in the sight of God.
@NobodySpecial85 He said that he would preach as a dying man to dying men, his point being that we are all dying, and without Christ we are doomed.
I would further like to ask you, where you have acquied the idea that having the holy spirirt means speaking other languages, 1 Corinthians 12:3 says that you cannot say that Jesus is Lord unless you are speaking by the holy spirit...
@NobodySpecial85 Look back to what I types, 1 Corinthians 12:3 says that one cannot say that Jesus is Lord unless you are speaking by the Holy Spirit, that means that anyone who professess Jesus as his Lord anyone who is genuinely christian has the holy spirit, so, either only those who speak in tongues are genuinely christian, or one can have the hjoly spirit without speaking in tongues.
@henry14000 I believe he is speaking of the Great Commission. Matthew 28:18-20 "Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore GO and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[a] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
God works through the foolishness of the gospel and the foolishness of man. But grinding to weakness is not always necessary to prove God can work.God is not as nervous as Paul Washer is about the condition of the Church or His adorned Gospel Its all going as God planned. Lets tell others God is calm and resourceful, nothing will hinder God's perfect will to save.Nobody will be lost by man's frailty or mistake. If we can calm down we might actually learn the wisdom of rest in God.God is at PERFECT
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom. But it's not enough, for the devils in hell fear and tremble. GOD plz forgive me a sinner. I have become filth of the world and its all about me. I will not stop seeking him no matter what till he talks to me. We need to stop seeking men for the answers. Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. People are looking for someone to tell them they are forgiven, instead of having faith in the cross of CHRIST.
The very fact that we are alive breathing and enjoying what He has given us on this earth shows His mercy. He can give us justice and send us all to hell but there is forgiveness in Him through the death of Christ Jesus. What you have to do is have complete faith that Jesus died on the cross for your sins and you should repent from your sins. Experience God's mercy and grace.
God loves you - don't be afraid to come to him - he gave his Son to pay for your sins, so that you could be holy and righteous in his eyes - he is not a God of wrath in first place, but the God of love!
Brothers and Sisters in Christ, I pray earnestly that by hearing this word from God we would quit being hearers but become doers. We have been called to do so much more. Its starts today! right now, exactly where youre at. James 1:19-27, &2 Timothy 2:15-16 God Bless us true believers.
1Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the LORD. 2Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart. 3They also do no iniquity: they walk in his ways.
Sometimes his preaching seams dogged to me. Is it love? Or more passion for truth?
He says, that god will brake us in million peaces! I know that God will humble us, and that he will cut away everything, that does not glorify him. But this language draws a picture of an angry god over his own children. I´m confused about this image. I don´t think that God is like that. So I´m asking myself - what is it, that drives him!
Some people say Paul speaks out of hatred and anger.
I believe he speaks out of his love for man and how so many people are tricked by the idea of a sinners prayer and how people believe it provides salvation.
@FirstHeardHere I don´t know so much about Paul Washer but he seems to be a true repentant christian. The bible says "Repent and believe in the gospel"..It doesn´t
says..."Believe in God only on sundays...the rest of the week you can do what ever you like...". If you are a radical biblical christian the world is gonna hate you. Look at John The Baptist. If he was alive in the world today and preaching like he did in the churches to day he would have been thrown out...
@FirstHeardHere People that say 'Paul speaks out of hatred and anger' have no clue what a true, 'meat and potatoes' sermon is in today's day and age. I'd be at church every day of the week if he was here. I've just had enough of warm, feel-good, fluffy sermons that are no more than crap and delusion to the congregation. Paul is one of the rare and polished gold nuggets in the sea of pathetic pastors in today's day and age. I know because I've had enough of dry and empty sermons.
IT'S THE TRUTH AND IT'S VERY SERIOUS no JOKE ... PEOPLE SHOULD REPENT AND TURN TO CHRIST AND FOLLOW HIM THE THINGS IN THIS WORLD ARE NOT WORTHY .. ONLY GOD IS WORTHY
The people in the crowd are really quiet.... Doesnt anyone say Amen or Halalluiah! The Preaching is awsome and makes me want to shout in my living room..
Why does this fellow want us to hate ourselves so much? I just discovered his videos today, and I can't imagine why he is so miserable. Oh, well, good luck solving your issues, I say.
I am going to go make some popcorn, FOR HIM!!!!!!!
gastro62, Paul Washer is not telling people to hate themselves, but rather to recognize their need for salvation through the Messiyah. He is telling people that unless they recognize themselves as what the scriptures illustrate, they will not be able to see the need for genuine salvation and they will be living a false reality. That is why faith and repentance is the beginning and regeneration and sanctification is the path.
Thanks for the comment. I guess I was giving a knee-jerk reaction to the way he seems to be belittling us all. OK, so we are just humble Christians, but he really goes over the top. Given his audience, it may be more or less appropriate, but if anyone is trying to win souls to the Lord, I strongly recommend they DON'T start out by showing this type of message. See, like alex below notes, he is confused by the image portrayed, and he sound like a Christian, too.
Agreed. I love these sermon excerpts but I think Paul Washer is against the whole 'music in the background' thing. In one sermon he called it "psychological manipulation" if I'm not mistaken.
Sounds really cool, but I think the words are powerful enough without the echoes and chilling background music. Great stuff though!
At 10:52-11:07, AMEN. That is so true. We get these ego trips about "being used" by God. All are guilty. May God grind that idolatry to dust, albeit a bitter thing to swallow - but rid us of it, Oh God.
"...my magnificent obsession...to know my God."
B E A U T I F U L.
I praise the Potter, not the clay. Thank & praise God for Mr. Washer's devotion to His Son.
06:13 >>> We have conferences on this and that... maybe we should have conferences about the beauty and the glory of God! That's the midset of those who spread the word to India, China, Africa, etc...
Knowledge doesnt save anybody We can be certain there are many great minds in hell today still thinking of God..
Truly it is when the heart is in agreement with that thinking that a man will come humbly to Jesus repenting of his sins asking Jesus in as Lord and Savior
Salvation will be given to all who ask sincerely from their heart. None will be turned away no not one.
Love without knowledge does not exsist as well. Since you cannot love something you do not know. And you cannot say you love someone if you do not desire to get to know him.
Many have knowledge but those who are in Hell never understood nor believed what they know.
Great video! Thank you for posting this! This is thought provoking and yet again Paul Washer's straightforward approach leaves NO room for confusion and convicts the heart to know my God more!
Telling others; belief in God will not save you.. All men can believe there is a God. Yet Without Salvation; beliefs & thoughts will take you to hell.
"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father but by me." (John 14:6)
"Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." (Acts 4:12)
Jesus paid in full the punishment we deserved. The Bible declares anyone who places their trust for salvation in Christ alone will receive from God a full pardon, not because of any good thing we have done, but because we have placed all of our trust in Christ to save us.
So for no confusion on this matter Jesus Himself said, "He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him." (John 3:36)
"Missions is about sending the truth of G-od" Let´s get back to the basic truth! G-od is love! He loves us, no matter who we are. Even the more sinner person is loved by G-od! Please, don´t look at ourserlves like superhumans or "big persons of G-od", let´s spread the Word. We need to respect G-od, not at our way, only to His Way! Peopled don´t need "more money in their pockets".They need to know that G-od loves them, and Je-sus died for their sins, the Holy Spirit will give peace to hearts
awesome message

polopowers1 1 year ago

You are afraid of God? You should be.

PSALM 119:1-3
1Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the LORD. 2Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart. 3They also do no iniquity: they walk in his ways.
SpiritFilledJohn 2 years ago
What is it, that drives him?
Sometimes his preaching seams dogged to me. Is it love? Or more passion for truth?
He says, that god will brake us in million peaces! I know that God will humble us, and that he will cut away everything, that does not glorify him. But this language draws a picture of an angry god over his own children. I´m confused about this image. I don´t think that God is like that. So I´m asking myself - what is it, that drives him!
alexpritze 2 years ago
He loves his master, it's Jesus Christ.

I think so too! But I mean in his preaching - the way he preaches and the feeling which is transported!

Some people say Paul speaks out of hatred and anger.
I believe he speaks out of his love for man and how so many people are tricked by the idea of a sinners prayer and how people believe it provides salvation.
FirstHeardHere 2 years ago 59
@FirstHeardHere I don´t know so much about Paul Washer but he seems to be a true repentant christian. The bible says "Repent and believe in the gospel"..It doesn´t
says..."Believe in God only on sundays...the rest of the week you can do what ever you like...". If you are a radical biblical christian the world is gonna hate you. Look at John The Baptist. If he was alive in the world today and preaching like he did in the churches to day he would have been thrown out...

@FirstHeardHere Paul just wants to see people come to christ and not burn in hell. God bless paul he has taught me a lot
josh19205 10 months ago
@FirstHeardHere People that say 'Paul speaks out of hatred and anger' have no clue what a true, 'meat and potatoes' sermon is in today's day and age. I'd be at church every day of the week if he was here. I've just had enough of warm, feel-good, fluffy sermons that are no more than crap and delusion to the congregation. Paul is one of the rare and polished gold nuggets in the sea of pathetic pastors in today's day and age. I know because I've had enough of dry and empty sermons.

Why does this fellow want us to hate ourselves so much? I just discovered his videos today, and I can't imagine why he is so miserable. Oh, well, good luck solving your issues, I say.
I am going to go make some popcorn, FOR HIM!!!!!!!
LOL!
gastro62 2 years ago
gastro62, Paul Washer is not telling people to hate themselves, but rather to recognize their need for salvation through the Messiyah. He is telling people that unless they recognize themselves as what the scriptures illustrate, they will not be able to see the need for genuine salvation and they will be living a false reality. That is why faith and repentance is the beginning and regeneration and sanctification is the path.
davegooley 2 years ago
Hi Dave,
Thanks for the comment.

Thanks guys.
Quick question - was the background music playing when Paul was preaching? If not, why is in the video now?
Let the words speak for themselves.
Blessings.
RPM11111 2 years ago

Terri3210 2 years ago
Love without knowledge does not exsist as well. Since you cannot love something you do not know. And you cannot say you love someone if you do not desire to get to know him.
Many have knowledge but those who are in Hell never understood nor believed what they know.
masterowa 2 years ago
Cults are very effective in sending men to hell.
And without heart a Mental ascent is just a thought process.
Terri3210 2 years ago
I do noy deny that at all. I am just explaining knowledge is not something that should be despised and is a tool in creating love in us.

2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God;
We pray for the lost that they will gain in knowledge through His Holy Word; thus grow to trust in the Lord..
That they will humble themselves repenting; asking forgiveness of their sins inviting Jesus into their hearts as Lord and Savior. Amen
Blessed Be the Word, Blessed Be the Lamb that gave all that none should perish but come to have everlasting life in Jesus. Amen

SAVED WE ARE MISSIONARIES FOR JESUS
Telling others; belief in God will not save you.. All men can believe there is a God. Yet Without Salvation; beliefs & thoughts will take you to hell.
"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father but by me." (John 14:6)
"Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." (Acts 4:12)
Belief must include trust that Jesus Saves
Terri3210 2 years ago
Jesus paid in full the punishment we deserved. The Bible declares anyone who places their trust for salvation in Christ alone will receive from God a full pardon, not because of any good thing we have done, but because we have placed all of our trust in Christ to save us.
So for no confusion on this matter Jesus Himself said, "He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him." (John 3:36)
Terri3210 2 years ago
"Missions is about sending the truth of G-od" Let´s get back to the basic truth! G-od is love! He loves us, no matter who we are. Even the more sinner person is loved by G-od! Please, don´t look at ourserlves like superhumans or "big persons of G-od", let´s spread the Word. We need to respect G-od, not at our way, only to His Way! Peopled don´t need "more money in their pockets".They need to know that G-od loves them, and Je-sus died for their sins, the Holy Spirit will give peace to hearts
