Well, I don't believe this Ancient Astronaut thoery....at least not at Von Daniken's extant. The way I see it is that an aliens who noticed that earth had lifeforms had the same curiosity that has helped man get so far as he has. They see life and think, "Wow, this is great. Let's go look." They see how unique Earth life is, so they do what human scientists would do when finding new species. They say "Let's keep an eye on this, see what happens."

I'm sure to those unfamiliar with conventions of Byzantine art, it might look a little like spaceships, but Byzantine art often displayed the sun and the moon in frescoes as anthropomorphic, humanized figures.

By the way, Rod calls it an "aerial battle." Yet there are no such signs in art an aerial battle is taking place at all.

Good golly, I can't believe that people were ever that stupid back in 1973 to believe this stuff---or even today. All of this "evidence" has perfectly normal explanations. For instance, that wall sculpture at the beginning of this episode simply looks like a guy sitting on the toilet, reaching for the toilet paper. Case closed.

Nobody narrates like Rod Serling. We used to get in front of the TV an hour ahead of time so we wouldn't miss The Twilight Zone when we were kids. That guy could make your hair stand on end just by talking. The girls would huddle together and the boys would tell em, "I think somebody's coming"...they'd all scream. Even the dogs would start barking......LOL...Those were the days.

@wimington819: The man talking is Rod Serling, who created and narrated the old TV programs, "The Twilight Zone", and "Night Gallery". I once heard him narrate a drivers-ed film. It was funny to hear him intone as to how proposed airbags would not inflate, due to a minor "fender bender".

This is on the Chariots 0f the Gods too but, this film seems to have Rod Serling as the narrorater.  I thought Leonard Nimoy hosted that series.
