i live in a very small town and every time i leave the house i am criticised on my facial piercings, my hair, and how i dress. in the past year there have been rumors spread about me that i dropped out of school to give my child up for adoption so that i can stay home all day and use/sell drugs. i don't drink/smoke or do drugs, and am currently on the road to becoming a paleontologist. people need to take a step back and focus on their own lives.
As a 'normal' person I've actually noticed a lot of the more 'alternative' people I know are incredibly judging, if someone isn't alternative like them then they seriously don't even give them a chance. Both are as bad as each other.
What I get sick of is my parents telling me that no one would take me seriously if I had one more piercing, or that I shouldn't get one more piercing because THEY have to look at me.
It's sad that we have to be judged on our outward appearance, but I can't exactly say that I haven't done it either.
I have 14 facial piercings and 32mm stretched earlobes, im constantly being portrayed as a criminal, in reality im a social worker for teenage drug addicts.
completely agree! i love having colored hair and piercings! i think its absolutely beautiful and it makes me feel beautiful to look that way! every one should do what makes them feel beautiful :)
I think everyone should look how they feel better, but in some extremes is unhealthy (anorexia, obesity), but as long as it doesn't, I think it's ok, and if I think it's not okay, why should I say it? why should anyone care? Great video!

Actually the only reason I don't go around naked is because it's illegal & i would get really cold, also sitting in public areas would be pretty gross. I wear clothes because they are comfortable & keep my balls from sticking to chairs & stuff.... wearing clothes and wearing makeup is 2 totally different things. Makeup that covers up things is kinda lying but its a wide spread lie that's socially acceptable. The only thing I don't like about makeup is that its bad for your skin...

I have pink hair and I feel SO much more confident with it. I only just recently died it, and ever since then, I've felt so amazing about myself, and it shows. However, my boyfriend's mother doesn't like it, and I'm going to his sister's debutant ball, and I'm not allowed to have pink hair during the deb. So I have to wash out my confidence, and burn my hair bleach blonde again. Not only that, I have to wear a wig when I go looking for jobs, because it's not 'acceptable' to have pink hair. :'(

I totally agree with you. I had severe acne recently, and I have many stains on my face. At that time, I did not wear makeup, and lots of guys madefun of me... that realy hurt. So I decided to wear makeup to hide the marks of the acne....until some guy said that girls that wear make up are fake..... :( I did not know what to said... I just wanted to hit him or something... I like how this whole video is based on a " We and Them"-Perspective.
As if everyone who'd have body mods would have the same opinions as the ones without them. Call it scene, Kawaii, Lolli, Emo, Gothic, etc, etc, it's not original, most of you looks the same, only with different colors. In a few years, you'll just laugh at old pictures of yourself, saying things like " I can't believe how I dressed"
But then again, same goes for MetalHeads, 'Gangstas' and Chavs, I suppose.

Style and "Look" : Experimenting with ways that you want yourself to look is not a reason for there to be any kind of prejudice. Man, are they in for a rude awakening...what are they going to do in a few decades when complete re-engineering of the human form at the cellular level will be (most likely) possible?
