He was a champion and was part of the olympic chinese team. he does not use wires in evry movie, he is rea, just as real as bruce lee. he evn created his wn martial arts style which enables you to fight 5 people at a time.

Like most I was introduced to all of this through Bruce Lee and I have everything Bruce has done. Ive studied, analyzed and studied some more and Jet to me is light years ahead of Bruce, fluidity of his movements, the way his styles command your attention. Bruce could beat up 30 dudes, true, but Jet does it with a grace that just looks perfected, Jet to me is The One, pun intended.
He is the most talented martial artist to ever appear before a camera in films. I believe from what ive seen in his competitive footage and from what he has shown in film that he is well beyond Jackie Chan in technique, styles and discipline.
Nothing being taken away from Jackie cause i love and respect his dedication to wowing audiences but Jet Li studied this for real since youth. He has competitive Gold Medals that he won as a boy. He was the youngest person on his national team and won all the golds for them, He was so skilled the US president personally requested him to come and demonstrate and after asked him to be his personal bodyguard. Jet Li wasnt even 14 years old.

Fearless is a great movie mainly because it goes deep into what martial arts are about: the film also shows a chinese master and a japanese master treating each other with respect. The movie is about inner piece building respect towards others.
The first Ip Man movie is also great. It shows a little of what the chinese people endured during the japanese occupation. The japanese are portrayed as the bad guys. It's about resilience, not peace. That's why Fearless is better.

@baraclude Its because the name of Wingchun makes the movie overrated. The Huo Yuan Jia's moves the Huo Fist is less famous than wingchun, thats why the movie also sounds bigger than Fearless
Jackie is more versatile. Just watch him using improvised weapons...The thing is, you watch a movie of Jet Li like Fearless,are amazed and think nothing can top this. Then you watch a movie like Jackie Chans "Jui kuen II" (aka "Drunken Master") and think, damn, Jackie is the best.
They are both very talented acrobats and people should stop comparing those two. Neither one is really better, they are different, and we should be happy about this. I also think that Tony Jaa and Donnie Yen areup par.
@Puschit1 I agree with you 100%, they have different styles. Jet plays more serious roles, and Jackie more comedy like. I like em both. Bruce Lee is worshipped too much, like he was more then human, These guys are just as talented, just, they are still alive, and wasn't the first to introduce asian movies to the weste. Love Bruce also btw, but he was just a human. None of them would be able to fight off more then 2 opponents, its all co-ordinated, as they all seem to be open about.
@bunnyvan18--I hope no one is offended by this, but I say it only to increase the respect towards Jackie chan...He was never formally taught martial arts. He taught himself through fighting other martial artists. He learned a little here and there from fighters, but never had a master or a sensei. Jet Li was the same way, although he received more attention to be trained as a child.

fearless is one of the best martial art movie, way better than yipmen series. Yipmen is overrated.

the mainstream people who claim to appreciate martial art

Fearless is a great movie mainly because it goes deep into what martial arts are about: the film also shows a chinese master and a japanese master treating each other with respect. The movie is about inner piece building respect towards others.
The first Ip Man movie is also great. It shows a little of what the chinese people endured during the japanese occupation. The japanese are portrayed as the bad guys. It's about resilience, not peace. That's why Fearless is better.

@baraclude Its because the name of Wingchun makes the movie overrated. The Huo Yuan Jia's moves the Huo Fist is less famous than wingchun, thats why the movie also sounds bigger than Fearless

Jackie is more versatile. Just watch him using improvised weapons...The thing is, you watch a movie of Jet Li like Fearless,are amazed and think nothing can top this. Then you watch a movie like Jackie Chans "Jui kuen II" (aka "Drunken Master") and think, damn, Jackie is the best.
They are both very talented acrobats and people should stop comparing those two. Neither one is really better, they are different, and we should be happy about this. I also think that Tony Jaa and Donnie Yen areup par.

@Puschit1 I agree with you 100%, they have different styles. Jet plays more serious roles, and Jackie more comedy like. I like em both. Bruce Lee is worshipped too much, like he was more then human, These guys are just as talented, just, they are still alive, and wasn't the first to introduce asian movies to the weste. Love Bruce also btw, but he was just a human. None of them would be able to fight off more then 2 opponents, its all co-ordinated, as they all seem to be open about.

@bunnyvan18--I hope no one is offended by this, but I say it only to increase the respect towards Jackie chan...He was never formally taught martial arts. He taught himself through fighting other martial artists. He learned a little here and there from fighters, but never had a master or a sensei. Jet Li was the same way, although he received more attention to be trained as a child.

Jet li is one of the only action stars that can actually back his mouth up in a real fight! I watched a live event which had some of the best fighters in the world in it and everyone of them said jet li made them look slow and stupid! He's like Bruce in so many ways!
