If you want to hear a stereotypical version of Minor Swing, then listen to one of the 5,000 other versions of it posted in YouTube. I hear Stephane play live every week, and he takes the standards on a wild trip like this every time. There is no end to the normal interpretations. Go find one of them, if that's what you want to hear.
why does everybody gotta hate. Music is about love, drank and be merry. Let's see some of your youtube vids? I would be kind enough to not tell you they suck and encourage you to do your best. Why? , cuz thats what nice peole do.
I generally loathe so called modern jazz--especially anything that reeks of fusion--but this is Bebop-ish enough (while retaining swing at its core of course) that I dig it.
i think wrembel almost emptiomises modern jazz. excellent simple voicings at the start moving towards more complicated solo progressions while continuously playing against the tempo. And although he does not per se capture traditional gypsy jazz he does put an almost modern spin on it, which in my opinion is an excellent thing. Almost john scofield esque

The recreation of django boat has sailed, it's 50 years on man, this is what jazz should do - subvert your expectations while still creating a technical and hearfelt masterpiece. Pots and pans drummer though, frikkin awesome.
u dont even have videos so eat a dick and i am actuall gypsy and that sucked my prick didint make sense i never all i said that it was not bad ok so leave me alone i dont see u on hhere trying so eat a dick and i will post minor swing
Wrembel, Langois and Engel have gone for a ethnic vibe in their playing. This isn't pure gypsy jazz any more, and has incorporated a whole host of influences within their playing.
Are you for real? I've just checked out your 'pege' ffs! I suggest you don't criticise Wrembel until you understand what he is doing. 16 years old and it shows. ROFL

It doesn't suck in the slightest. His solos have great structure once he gets into it after a minute or two.
And that percussionist is fucking incredible!!
- anyone know what his name is?
