  • ...wonderful movie.. even if it has an anti gun message... this movie shows how we fear what we don't understand, so we assume first than panic, ..we are our worst enemies..

  • My favorite part is when he saves the kids from falling whether they think hes bad or not he saved them

  • the iron giant is bloody vin diesel.

  • If you can record a part you should record the whole movie

  • i love this movie, it should be digitally remastered on put on bluray

  • i used to have this movie when i was little it was my fav movie AAHHH GOOD TIME GOOD TIMES lol hahaha

  • awww <3 he's so cute

  • 3:10 i guess falling 2 stories into iron doesnt do any damage

  • @kam123434 haha i was thinking that too, the giant doesn't really stop their fall very gracefully, they would probably be banged up pretty bad after that

  • Iron Giant=Riddick

  • 4:46 a cooler version of Tianemen square ( i know i didn't spell that right)

  • The Iron Giant = a wonderful part of my childhood

seriously, I loved this movie SO MUCH <3 AHH <3

    STILL DO <3

  • OMFG I FEEL LIKE CRYING I HAVNT WATCHED THIS MOVIE SINCE I WAS A LITTLE KID AND IT WAS ONE OF MY FAVORITES :'/ SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME A WEBSITE WHERE I COULD WATCH IT FOR FREE :[[[[[[[[[

  • man i havent seen this movie since i was a kid, i gotta go get it again and watch it

  • I love Mansley. Besides him being a total ass, his reactions to things are hilarious!

  • I think the giant didn't use his guns to blast the missile because he doesn't want to be a weapon anymore. If he gave in to that instinct, he would not be able to control what he would do. He might even destroy the town after he destroyed the missile. It's more noble to just sacrifice himself, unlike that jerk Mansley -- Screw my country I want to live!!

  • My fave part is where the giant says "Dean" for the first time.. it was funny XD

  • dean is so hot

  • hahahaha! they blew the shit outa that robot, nice job :L

  • This is what i love abouth The giant...He's a robot but still has human emotions

  • Liberty Prime from Fallout 3.

  • Good guy giant

    sent to pulverize earth,

saves entire city despite their attacking him.

  • a forgotten classic

  • Hogarth reminds me of Flounder!

  • That epic part when the Iron Giant finds out that he can fly :D awesome.

  • KENT that bastard why cant he just let the robot go -___-

  • Minus the shooting, the flying scene is quite reminiscent of the riding across the moon scene from ET.

  • @tumtillio yea i noticed many similarities with this and ET, but I think this movie is better than ET because you get a better sense of the giant as a person

  • When I was 6 I loved it when he transformed !

  • Hahaha just found out vin diesel does the voice for the Iron Giant. Easily my favorite movie as a kid.

  • Why do they always think that bullets could destroy IRON

  • This movie had Vin Deisel, Jennifer Anniston and Harry Connick Jnr. in it and everybody is talking like it came out three weeks after the dawn of moving pictures. "They don't make 'em like this anymore !"...???? Jeez...I loved this movie but it seems like it turns everybody into granpa Simpson once they've seen it.

  • Thumbs Up if you Miss the 90's

  • the best part is when the sabres, the tanks and then (this time due to mansley's snail brain) the USS Nautilus begin to fire

  • Is it me or does the Iron Giant sound like Scooby-Doo? And my favorite part is when he goes ballistic. BADASS! :D

  • @Wally19971997 Did you know the Giant is voiced by Vin Diesel?

  • Kent Mansley... what a JERK!

  • THIS IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN NOWADAYS CRAP!!!!!!!!!

  • @pROTPANDA Totally agree with you, I miss the 90's :(

  • 5:09

  • I last saw this movie when I was 5. I remember this scene, I had to see it one more time.

  • I always wondered if there is an entire race or army of giants or if he is the only one.

  • @voidmaster45 They show in a deleted scene that he is only one of many.

  • Wouldn't be less harmful to fall in the snow that land in a giant iron hand?

  • Lol somthing tells me this is exactly how the government would react to a peaceful robot

  • i watched this movie like 20 times when i was a kid

  • I have this dvd YES

  • 4:42 What have you done?? YOU KILLED THE WARNERS!!!!!!

  • i wish i had a big robot body guard as a friend :/

  • I remember these days when there were good quality cartoons :L

  • 2:57 I swear I heard someone say "Fuck it!"

  • @shrike993 i believe the person says watch it(at least for all i know)

  • @narutofantasy5 Considering its a kids film, you're probably right.

  • I remember having an obsession over this movie as a young kid back in the day, my mom took me up to the video rental store one night during summer of 1999. I happened to walk past one of the shelves that had iron giant action figures on them and I was immediately tempted to have one. I remember being fascinated by the iron giants rocket boots for some reason. Anyways, I ended up opening a box and stealing the action figure, somehow getting to the door I think, but got caught by mom eventually.

  • 0:47 Uhh... I'm starting to think that The Iron Giant didn't originally come in peace...

  • Something I keep thingking... the soldiers heard what Dean said about the giant being only on defense mode and that he reacts if he's threatened. Why didn't anyone tell the general? Kent might not have screwed things up.... but well....

  • Personally my favorite part is when the general asks "AND WHERE'S THE GIANT'S LOCATION?"

  • @tikifreakazoid OMG there is an iron giant on ebay right now!!! the item # is 190571244414

  • this movie touched my feelings so mant times i almost cried when he said "i am not a gun"

    :(

  • "A big gun that walks."

If you honestly believed that, why the fuck would you insult it?

  • These guys didn't get the memo on first contact protocol.

  • lol its 1492 and im still watching this on the mayflower

  • lol its 2011 and i am still watching this

  • The f-86s being deployed @ 5:20 was always my favorite part as a kid

  • im glad this is going to be on netflix!

  • when the kids fell they landed on his hand. Wouldn't that be just as bad as landing on the ground?

  • @TRAXEL47 Well when the giant catches them his hand shifts downward therefore absorbing some of the impact, rather then if they hit the ground which will not move downward with them would probably break some bones, if not kill them.

  • This is one of my favorite movies.

  • 11 people wanted to be atomo.

  • vin diesel's best role. By farrrrrrr.

  • iron man got the flying scene from this movie i can tell. i love this movie.

  • I'm 13 and I still love this film :)

  • 4:20

if you listen carefully, you can hear the grenade being launched

i love this movies attention to detail

  • @Headphoneguy92 Wow ur right

  • i remember when they made a 24 hour Iron giant marathon when i was a kid I ALWAYS HATED IT!!!!!!! THE SAME DAM MOVIE OVER AND OVER!!!!

  • @CorruptCatalystVids1 Well the movie was that awesome.

  • @CorruptCatalystVids1 I Remember Too !! Omg Its Amaizing People Still Remember That. If Im Not Mistaken It Was In Cartoon Network.

  • @abelflexes2 you are correct :)

  • You need to upload the whole movie and not a website that has viruses and what not

  • @WatchYur6 Use Netflix.

  • @AntiNBBForce

    or rogers on demand

  • Why do i think he is so hawt?! first off, he is a cartoon, second of all, HE IS LIKE 40 YRS OLDER THAN ME!

  • Sorta sad at the end

  • When Pokemon came out with Golurk, only one thing ran through the minds of many Pokemon fans:

"I AM NAMING THIS ONE IRON GIANT."

  • Is there any possible way you would put up the whole movie? These parts made me want to watch it again so much!!

  • I AM NOT A GUN!!!

  • i used to watch this movie so much i memorized almost every line

  • so this is where they got transformers from

  • No,transformers was in 1984.

  • @Crisshomes1 WRONG the Iron giant was a book in the 1950' s called "the iron man" so yeah transformers did get the idea from this

  • But transformers is a different story and the robots are morphing intro vehicles dont understand what do you mean by get the idea.

  • @Crisshomes1 the idea of a giant iron thing basicaly

  • Its not what you thik.

You logic is like the first super hero car and everything that comes after even it the model is different the story is different and all that its still a copy.

    Which it isn't.

  • I had no idea this took place during the cold war until I watched again today! Its funny what you can totally overlook when your a little kid

  • 11 people hate this because its not anime

  • he's a auto-con half autobot and decepticon

  • I CANNOT believe that I forgot most about this movie although I saw it So much.(100,000,000 times.)

  • This was a great movie during my childhood and still is!!

  • A childhood favourite!

  • 1. 3:53

    2. ???

    3. Profit

  • Hogarth: you can fly?!

    Tobor: I can FLY?!

  • 1:10- 1:14 i love that part it's so creapy yet AWSOME!!!

  • I saw this in the theater when I was 23. I only went to see it because the critics went nuts over it.

It was one of the few movies that I actually gave a standing ovation to. More movies need to be made like this. Great storyline, some humor, all heart.

I'll be seventy and I'll still enjoy this timeless masterpiece.

  • @VisionofOrion I was 22 then and totally approved this comment

  • @VisionofOrion does that mean that the critics liked it? i may have missunderstood what you said.

  • @kewltyler44 Yeah. Sorry...I'm not too clear when I post a comment at 2 in the morning.

When this movie came out Warner Brothers was behind it to some extent but what really helped it was almost every critic raved about it which in turn lead to alot of people talking about it.

  • :-) i loved this when i was younger, loved it:-)

  • My favorite part is the entire movie.

  • i remember when cartoon network played this movie for reconstruction of cartoon network

  • how did the giant slide 50 meters and not crush anyone to catch those kids

  • i was 2 when this came out 0_0

  • The Giant learned humans will only break your heart.

  • did kent say "damn you" at 3:56

  • @95Godfather Yeah he did.

  • The general gun the same sound that happens when the terminator gets shot by the x-2001 in the hallway of the Psych ward

  • All the other kids were watching Toy Story 2 and Tarzan when they came out...Not me. I was watching The Iron Giant and it is a movie i will want my kids to watch and their kids and their kids. <3

  • @Dayna154 now thats a good comment :)

  • 'the giant kill the kid"

    now that's a ginger

  • The whole movie was my favorite part :)

  • I remember they had an all weekend marathon of this on Cartoonnetwork when I was 8. Watched it like, 8 times

  • I'm 16 now, and omg when I was little I would watch this movie over and over!

the squirrel going up his leg and him eating twinkies...good times.

  • is it me or is no one concerned at 3:08?

  • LMFAO You see a huge robot that can't be destroyed with missiles running at your car about to squash you, and the only thing you can do is pull out a pistol and fire at it?

  • I miss this movie. *Sigh* I remember watching it on Cartoon Network when I was a kid.

  • @Marklmon1 So do I. They showed The Iron Giant marathon on Cartoon Network.

  • @Marklmon1 this is my fav movie of all time!

  • yep good job general.....that pistol will do a welth of good.....

  • @Marklmon1 lol dude same here i was a little kid my i would tell my grandpa to replay the movie i loved ti so much

  • The iron giant used to scare me so much when I was little :O

Especially near the end when he was mad

  • Whatever happened to wonderful animated films like this? In the last 10 years, Hollywood has replaced beautiful philosophical films full of depth and meaning with crappy 3D films filled with overused slapstick, cliches and poor quality. This is definitively the best non-Pixar movie I've ever seen, and in my opinion no non-Pixar movie has been able to match it's quality and beauty.

  • thumbs up if you randomly thought of this movie, couldnt think of the name, then you typed in "giant robot movie" then typed that in on youtube, then watched this and remembered every single part!

  • I dont know how many years it been since ive seen this movie... I always cried at the end of the movie.. and thats why i love this movie, it was great, humoric, and sad at the end.

  • Brings back good memories... love this movie...

  • Awwwww <3 that bot is so cute.

  • lol cant see vin diesel playing this character!

  • His throttle is on the left? Huh

  • @Th3SMS Maybe that scene was mirrored for the geography to make more sense?

  • I never knew it was vin diesel! he just got 10x more respect points from me :)

  • This movie used to be so scary when I was a kid damn!

  • This is the most emotional animated movie I've ever seen.

  • I can't tell, was the Iron Giant sent to earth to destroy all human life, and the bump on his head caused amnesia?

  • @Kurtrill Backstory: The giant and its kin were mass-produced to find and eraticate technology. This one got amnesia. And then he got a best friend <3

  • WHERE IS THE WHOLE MOVIE!!!!!!?

  • I always thought he was sent by humans in the distant future. Because of his humanoid design

  • I watched this movie so many times when i was a little kid.

  • @Maido789 remember the hella long marathon they had on cartoonnetwork?

  • @shawnde1 No, i actually rented the movie 10 times.

  • @Maido789 i am in the same boat :)

  • @Maido789 HAH! My brother and I watched this and Hercules almost every night as a kid B)

  • Seriously how the hell is that kid alive?

  • I guess the U.S. found something to deal with harder than WWII. But for reals, they didn't have to deal with the Giant.

  • i wish they made a part 2

  • They didn't even try to see if the Giant came in peace, they just immediately opened fire. No wonder Superman renounced his citizenship, the government discriminates against peaceful Men of Steel.

  • we need more real animated movies like this, cg is not going to cut it on its own

  • I love this film so much.

I do love Kent Mansley as well, the creeper I am.

  • @JemEatsGlowSticks Okay, who doesn't love Kent Mansely?

  • i fucken love this movie

  • This movie is my favorite. I love the part when he says '' I go, you stay '' he saved a lot of people. IRON GIANT I LOVE YOU!!!!!

  • hahaha he looks fuckin faaaded at 1:57

  • i still could not belive Vin diesel is the voice of the iron giant lol'd ?? i was stunned when i saw that

  • 3:27 doesn't Dean know you should put a helmet on when riding a motorcycle, or at least put one on the kid?? damn dumbass beatnik! i say that with love :)

  • @1994moviebuff

And none of the army-men are wearing seatbelts. Seriously, this movie has a vendetta against transportation safety. :D

  • @QuestAccount These are the 1950s, my friend. Seatbelts were --nonexistent-- at that time.

  • @Atvishees

I thought seatbelts were standard in vehicles by 1955 and the movie took place in 1957. Maybe military vehicles were exceptions to the rule...?

  • here is Kent Mansley anyone else's favourite character because of how funnily stupid he is?

    Kent: LAUNCH THE MISSLE NOW!!!

General: Eh mate......that'll kill everyone you know -___-

  • Why did Dean choose to tell Kent, who we all know cannot be trusted, when the General was standing not 2 feet away? I love Dean, but he's a dumbass! Lol

  • my favourite movie as i was growing up absolutely awsome movie :)
