  • good truck! that bumper looks like it catches alot tho, you ever have that issue? overall VERY nice!

  • Any chance of a Exceed rc Madbash review.? Thanks for reviewing the products we are all curious about. I wish I would have seen your traxxas slash 4x4 review before I bought mine, great truck but a ton of bugs to work out. Keep it real man!

  • Nice wheels what Are they?

  • @MIRCWOOD Thanks, these were from the Ofna Blazer SST. They're still sold today, called "1/8 stadium" wheels, and they're only in chrome.

  • @thejang I read about your project, I might buy a det and paint them like you did

  • whats that for a motor ??

  • Excellent video !!!:))) 5 *).

    Kind regards, Olga.

  • In Soviet russia. You are the RC.

  • Custom conversion.

    Coool B-)

In the UK we would say home made. ;-)

As it's based on a race buggy, it probably handles better than the shop bought ones. Plus it's 4x4 and the Slash isn't.

    5/5

  • Thank you sir!

  • LOL!

I meant, the Slash 'wasn't!! I just realized that the newest Slash is 4x4. DOH!

They should continue with the 2x4 one as well. Just make it $70 cheaper. 2wd makes you a better driver in the long run. ;-)

  • how much does one of thos cost? and where do u get it from?

  • It's a custom conversion. Click the link in the video description on the right.

  • people dont seem to be getting it eh? lol i honestly dont see how that is a copy off the slash....

  • Truggy with a SC truck lid on it...

  • Actually just a buggy like the SC8. Everybody sees it as passe' now because every company makes an RC SC but when this project was done in early 2008, the Slash was the ONLY one!

  • thats awsome

  • total copy off the slash.

ever since the slash came out all the other companies like hpi and team associated.

    Traxxas rules

  • Uhhh, I think you missed something. Click the link in the description to see exactly what this vehicle is.

  • project 21 is cool

but wat i meant was that u copyed the apperence of the slash

  • I used a Slash body lol... that was the whole point.

  • suspension seems to be very stiff, softening a little bit might be a good idea

  • hey i want that car do u have the website

  • It's a custom build so not available for sale anywhere, but you can see exactly how it's made (pretty easy actually) by clicking the link in the description to the right of the video.

  • That's a nice job you've done. I often don't leave my RC cars in stock form very long, adapting body mounts and so on is normal as far as I'm concerned. ;-)

    5/5 for Project 21!

  • omg i just bought a slash and it is very scale but that thing handles so much more realistic to a real one!

  • So cool! I love it! What brushless system are u using?

    And again... So cool!

  • Thanks! It's a Novak setup. Click the link in the description to see details on the vehicle.

  • how much are they and where do you get them

  • whats funny is now that CORR racing has taken off (thanks to the slash) alot of people are turning their 1/8th scale nitro buggies into CORR trucks... hell in this months issue of desert racer (rc car action's sister zine) shows how to turn a duratrax raze into a short course truck for under $50 (note that the truck was still nitro) all in all for someone who wants to get into the hobby and not break the bank the slash is a great truck.

  • Sadly CORR doesn't even exist anymore since it went bankrupt. Luckily TORC and LOORRS have picked up the slack

  • nice, but youve set up a bit to fast motion on this mouwee :D

  • Thanks, but the video is in actual speed, no fast-motion at all :)

  • If so, Im sorry mate, it looks very fast :)

  • I love the truck, its way better than the traxxas slash because you custom built it, check out my videos to see my custom rc rigs

  • got a plan to get a slash and fit 4wd with a mamba max 7700kv moter and lipo would this work well and how would i get the 4wd?

  • 7700 is a bad idea -- 4600 would be better, 5700 tops. For 4WD, you put a second transmission up front with custom-rigged steering. Visit UltimateTraxxas, com and go into the Stampede forum and search for '4wd pede' to see how others have done it

  • oh kl thank u very much i dont think i will bother with 4wd but put a mamba max 5700?? in it with a mamba max speed controll :P or vxl

  • if your looking for a brushless buy a slayer and put in an electric conversion in it i think there running the mamba monsters with them but whalla and you dont have to add another transmission to the front and if your looking to run a mamba max run the 5700 i highly recemend it over the 7700 because you can run a 3 sell lipo and even with like a 6 cell nimh it will pull the front end

  • Jang your the Man Bro ! Great Vid. Thanks for posting.

  • how long the battery last

  • Just like the Traxxas Slayer but Electric! If you can handle the drift you can pick up a Traxxas Slasher 2WD

  • Thanks, but I do have two Slashes, one of them converted into a 1:8 scale buggy :) See my "\BACKSLASH" video and the project build on UltimateTraxxas, com!

  • hi jang,

    what gears are you using?

and dont forget to post the track video.

    thanks

  • Hi, I'm using an 11T pinion and the stock Ravager 47T center diff.

  • Why you guys wast your time on this electric crap ! just go and buy an SC8 a real nitro burning truck!!

  • Why electric? Way faster, better acceleration, run any time anywhere without disturbing folks, no oily crud to constantly clean, no re-tuning when the weather changes, no buying $30-$40/gallon fuel. Should I go on? :D

  • :D indeed

  • Why the fuck go nitro when a brushless setup eats it any day?

I like both though, only idiots claim that 'their choice' are the best, as what you did right there. 'Tard.

  • if this is the same size as the slash and this is a 1/8th scale why is the slash a 1/10th scale?

  • RC definitions of scale are loose and inaccurate at best. However, keep in mind that the Slash has the same track & wheelbase as a 1:8 buggy. A 1:8 truck should be much larger than a 1:8 buggy. In reality, though, comparing the wheelbase of the Slash to a full-scale CORR truck, the Slash is a little smaller than 1:8th scale. Comparing overall length, it's a little smaller than 1/9th scale.

  • is this like the first slash ever built

  • Oh definitely not, it uses a Slash body. Folks have been making one-off scale stadium trucks for many many years actually. Losi even had a scale-like truck body for their XX4 buggy. Also, though smaller, the Tamiya TB02-based trucks were to-scale STs too. This was just the first BL 1/8th buggy to scale truck conversion I'm aware of.

  • this is the first 4WD electric of it's kind.

  • will an associated SC8 body fit?

  • Unfortunately no, the SC8 is a good deal longer than buggies, sitting on a stretched truggy chassis for a scale proportions.

  • oh, makes sense now that I look at it, either way im gonna try this if I get the chance :)

  • im tempted to convert my ofna 9.5 to this

  • Exceptionally done...over the years I've read through all your projects, and they're well done. Keep up the great work!

  • Thank you kindly!

  • you dont want to get that truck in your leg

  • i just converted my slash to 4wd,using all traxxas parts.

you did a nice job on this 1 man!

  • whats better the losi desert truck or this

  • There's no comparison, no similarity other than that they're both RCs with 4 wheels. This is 4WD, the DT is 2WD. This is based on a mid-motor nitro buggy chassis, the DT is a rear-motor stadium truck. This is 1/8th size, the DT is 1/10th. This isn't available in stores, the DT is a factory vehicle.

  • so what truck is this

  • Click the link under the video description or just visit Ultimate RC and click Projects to see all there is to know about the truck, including a bunch of photos.

  • Nice work!:D

  • great project.jang are you using the two 6-cell or the 2c lipos on the video?and when are you going to post the next video on the track?

  • Thanks. This was on two el cheapo 6-cell sport packs. I've got the track footage, just need to make time to edit it up & post it.

  • Thank you jang. Please keep all those projects going. And thanks for a simple and great conversion. Dont make us wait to long on that video.

  • niice

  • nice truck 5/5

  • wow that is a cool nice 4X4 model truck

  • I'm doing the same thing with an old Inferno DX-II. Better than the Slayer.

  • Rock on!

  • is it difficult to instal awd on the slash?

  • :) It's not a Slash at all. Click the link in the video description (upper right) to learn all about the vehicle.

  • yes then it wouldnt even be a slash though. i already tried with my ped and it did not even work by the way the have the same rear set up

  • weak.........everything "appears" to run great on level ground

  • Right on, well thanks for adding this weak video to your Favorites, and stay tuned for the even weaker videos of this truck hitting a track (and possibly two)!

  • I have already added it to my favs.

    "Keep up the great work!"

  • Thanks much! I took the truck to a track last week so I hope to upload a short video of that soon too. More to come.

  • sweet conversion jang! I see you starting yet another fad! lol

  • Dude that thing is sick... LMK when you sell it. LOL

  • that thing is awesome! *****

  • BADASS RIDE!! Funny, this video wast shot a few blocks from my house!

  • really? u live near him?

  • It looks great and performs ever better. Well done.

  • nice jang, not as complex as some of your other projects but done very well nonetheless

  • im guessing that was a hyper?

  • Thanks for stopping by. Everything's explained in detail on the project page.

  • lol, i just realised that :D

  • Hmm... not sure if it looks better than the Slash.

  • Same body! lol
