  • love this tune great job.

  • Keith Green was a man on fire for God. His intense personality got him a short life, but he influenced thousands to go all out for Jesus, including me.

  • @dianalward Praise the Lord! Glad to hear you testify!

  • How beautiful is the Lord our God

  • wow such a pure and gentle version- I didn't t think I'd like anyone's but Keith's but this was lovely !!

  • Jack this is just beautiful and very appreciated after the day I just had. I just closed my eyes and my soul sighed....and gone was the garbage of the day. Thanks

  • Man, Jack! You just keep getting better with every video I watch.

  • good job I love this tune.

  • wonderful song, thank you.

Can you tell me what kind of guitar you are using for this song ? Steel or nylon strings ?

    - Larry

  • It's a CraViola by Giannini, early 80s vintage, nylon strings.

  • I like the sound...to my ear - like a hybred - somewhere BETWEEN the nylon sound and the steel sound.

Looks like 12 frets to the neck...right ?

Is the neck at nut a wide 2 inch like standard classicals ?

Seems like I remember Noel Paul Stookey playing a 12 string shaped like this on his WEDDING SONG ..

I found a website for Giannini - looks like they are back in business but I did not see a CraViola model available.

I just checked on harmony and they get nice reviews there...

    - tks Larry

  • Yes, it's very much like the 12-string Paul Stookey played in There Is Love, but this one is the 6-string nylon version. They also made a six-string and 12-string steel version. The ones they're making nowadays, if they're still making them, are not as nice in my opinion, because they're making them with a shallower body, so they don't have as deep a sound. I bought one of the newer versions a fewe years ago made of all solid woods, and was rather disappointed. You can find older ones on ebay.

  • Oh, I forgot, the nut on this one is 1 7/8 inch. I'm going to guess it would be the same for the 12-string version. The nut on the newer steel 6-string I had was 1 3/4 at the nut I believe.

  • ..the one you're playing is a laminate ? sides and back ?

My interest is ONLY in a wide neck

(at least 1 7/8)...want to play before I buy ..maybe I'll shop here in Nashville area.

I want nylon that has more of a steel sound in the trebles - and hopefully retains the deep, rich bass of the nylon.

    I have a Larrivee SD-50 steel string,

    with 1 7/8 neck, 12 frets, slothead.

My perfect guitar would have treble like steel & bass like nylon.

Your guitar looks comfortable, is bass deep/rich?

  • Sides and back are laminated Brazilian rosewood. The top is solid cedar, which is rare in a CraViola of this vintage. Mostly they're all laminate. Yes the bass is deep and rich, especially for a nylon string guitar. There are twelve frets from the nut to the heel, but because of the body shape, the rest of the frets are easily accessable. I wouldn't say the treble are like steel, but the sound over-all on this guitar is definitely robust for a nylon string.

  • It's not like a great classical, mind you, but one of the best folk guitars I've ever played! I've had two others just like it made of all laminates, and I was extremely impressed with the sound of both of them as folk instruments. The others were 70s vintage instruements. I had one other that was a 90s vintage that sounded good, but not as good as the older ones. it was made of pau ferro/morado and a liminated spruce top.

  • Great Guitar picking!!

I have loved this song for a while, and i appreciate your interpretation. :)

    God BLeSS

  • May the Lord keep and guide you.May He cause His face to shine on you and keep you in all ur ways.....And the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings

  • That was absolutely delightful to worship along to! Thank you ever so much! You even sang one verse that I had never heard before!

  • Beautiful ! God bless you.

  • Great job!

  • Thank you! All praise and honor be to our God!

  • very very nice. thank you.

  • nice guitars, but, either you're a bass or you didn't know the song is usually song an octave higher.

  • Well, I'm not a bass, but there is no way I could sing this song an octave higher. I don't think I even paid any attention to the original key it was written in, I just played it in a key that seemed to work for me. I just now realized since you told me that I was singing in the same key as Keith an octave lower!

  • Such a sweet love song for God. Beautiful. Sing it anyway you want!!!This song always reminds me to tell God how beyond extraordinary and wonderful HE is. Thnx 4 postn.

  • He just sang that his reward is having the chance to praise God. What does it matter if the key was off. He was praising and worshipping God. I'm sure it was music to God's ears.

  • Exactly! Even if a person were singing this song completely out of tune, let alone off key, I believe God would be pleased if it were being sung to Him sincerely.

  • i didn´t know this song had more than one verse. It's beautiful, and a very serious prayer to answers to God's grace. GBY

  • thanks that was very good

  • that was beautiful

  • awesome! any chance i could get the guitar tab for this? or at least the notes for the melody of the song?

    thanks

  • Sorry, I don't have tab for this at the moment. I just did it by ear. At some point I may try to tab it out for one of my guitar students. Perhaps when I do, I can send you a copy. If you want to PM me and remind me from time to time, that would be ok, but I don't like to make promises I may not manage to keep.

  • That's a beautiful song. I like your guitar, too. What kind is it?

  • It's an early '80s vintage CraViola by Giannini which are made in Brazil. Glad you liked the song. Blessings on you!

  • Reminds me of something I read recently....The Lover's teacher is the Loved One's beauty. His face their lesson and their only book. Learning of wonderment, of longing love their duty....

  • praise the lord jesus christ for ever and ever

  • Amen!

  • You play the guitar so very well!! I could just listen and listen to you play and sing! How WONDERFUL that you sing the WORD OF GOD! Again...you are sowing LIFE when you sing! To God be the glory and may much fruit abound!!

  • Thanks for introducing me to the fact that there was more than just a chorus to this song! Keith Green was quite a remarkable person. After watching a documentary on his life here on YouTube and learning this song, I have a new appreciation of his love for the Lord.

  • I agree with the others, very nice!

  • i love this song i love all kieth green songs

  • One of my favourites!. .nicely played. . . Great song!

  • i thought that was wonderful...great song!

  • Very nice. I'd never heard that other verse either.
