Hey Ed, I was working on a Panasonic Plasma TV power supply board on Friday and made a discovery.  ESR verified all caps perfect. FETs were perfect... About to give up.

Those bastards hide small thermal fuses inside the switching transformers! On top of windings, but under the yellow tape. Easy to bypass with an external one and tv works again!

Some of those old HD CRT systems were incredible. Looking at the quattron 3D LCD flat panel sets, they use 4 colors (red, green, blue and yellow). Color accuracy is definitely improved vs the conventional 3 used in LCD.

OLED will be the king, but needs more time to obtain its potential perfection.

LED LCD quattron in my opinion is best so far. Plasma is being phased out.

Fed Ex just sent me my free 51" plasma TV from my Fed Ex rewards program.

Shop TV it will be and hopefully live a long happy life of relatively low hour use.

Still have my 65" 2001 Mitsubishi diamond 1080 CRT projection TV that cost $6500 back then. It takes up space like a grand piano in the house, but the old girl's picture is still absolutely incredible and bright. Line doubler processor in it... No video artifacts.

Uncharted 3 was incredible... :D

Vent fans for most smokey things, but still inevitable to inhale a bit (which will probably be the one to kill me)
