I was hospitalized against my will even though I showed no signs of suicidal ideation, OR depression.... wtf? They gave me zoloft because I was sad because I was grieving my cousin's death and I was angry and upset at my husband... wtf?
Hospitals shouldn't keep you in the psych ward against your will. I was hospitalized against my will in 2009 and 2011. The hospital told me if I try to walk out, I will be injected with a big needle in my butt and then be subdued and taken to the psych ward, even though I had no signs of drug overdose. I was just acting out because my cousin just died, I was grieving and my husband made me angry. Hospitals shouldn't be allowed to hospitalise patients against their will.
This fake science called psychiatry destroyed 10 years of my life and almost killed me. How about getting INFORMED CONSENT TO TREATMENT ? from these QUACKS !
Have you or your loved ones used anti-depressants and facing side effects???? Then I have good news for you You will be eligible for compensation Get back to me here I will share details Email me here effinnycymnbw @ gmail com
Please don’t forget to mention which anti-depressant you used
@Zer0cropped ..so that's it for you? Your just going to live your life drugged and die drugged? oh well that's what free will is for.... Good Luck!..Going to a "good" psychiatrist is about as effective as knocking on wood...:)
While I certainly do agree that the FDA is a 'pimp' for big pharma, and I also believe the insurance scams of this country keep us ill, enslaved, and ignorant, I do disagree on one point. The medicines that fall in the group of SSRI's work BECAUSE they are addictive. I know, how nuts is that? And yet is is true. They way that they build up serotonin is NOT something ANYONE should suddenly STOP. It could kill you. Not because it's some kind of conspiracy, because that is how it works.
@CarolyntheGreat "Addiction" involves cravings or seeking behaviors. Dependency is more accurate. As far as their efficacy, I would have been dead eight years ago if it were not for Zoloft. It all started when my periods came back after decades of absence. It was horrible, and food allergies gave me four days of hell. PMDD is being studied, and it is definitely triggered by ovulation. There's also a connect between circulating, free estrogen in the blood versus bound estrogen.
@CarolyntheGreat ..it won't kill you. Mind you that's what my Dr. Told me..that it would kill me...it didn't. Depency,addiction...just words...stop taking them and you go into withdrawal. Anyway Merry Christmas/
Funny how no one thinks these things are addictive...try stopping suddenly...:) Remember what they said about Valium back in the day...They said it wasn't addictive. C'mon!
these drugs are like any other street drug they make you feel good but actually make your life worser. Oh wait they are streect drugs in a fancy package becasue this drug is taken from LSD, just administered differently. this drug ruins people lives, gives you false feelings of goodness, which will not help your life. All doctors do is pump you full of drugs & say there helping you, but one thing they dont tell you to do to beat your depression or whatever it is to live your life & do things.
@Zer0cropped ..fact is that Asperger's Syndrome is a made so THEY can sell you adrug.Change your diet and the symptoms will disappear. The FDA is a pimp for Big Pharma.
@Zer0cropped ..the science is flawed..it's a lie. The money in SSRIs is huge. They don't care about your well being. They are lying to you. No good EVER comes from taking SSRIs.
@ThePastorGregory You are wrong. I can very much tell you that PMDD-Severe is very physical and very real. Unless talk therapy can raise my free, circulating estrogen levels (and %-free circulating levels) in the blood and lower SHBG, and unless you can talk your way out of secondary mechanisms such as vitamin D levels that subsequently plummet, then spiritual or talk therapy doesn't work. Endogenous depression is a whole new animal than exogenous depression.
@anebturia ..talk therapy does not work...I mean it's great to have someone to talk to for sure.... BUT it'll do little good if you don't have the right nutrients. You have been told...if you want to live your life in denial ...go ahead....have a nice day....:) Lots of people can't see past their drugs...all is you're doing is defending an addiction.
@Zer0cropped AND let me just say something....people like YOU are what stops people from going to church. That's bad advice for people with an alcohol problems and there are many of them. by the way..medicine "back then" consists of more than just alcohol. I thnk you need to educate yourself before you go pointing that gnarly finger at me. Here's a great bible verse for you..."Judge ye not lest YE be judged.
@Zer0cropped ...that type of medication is good for NO ONE. YOU get over it. Luke wasn't a physician like todays pharmacuetical puppets. Christ would have hated SSRIs!
The fact is that in clinical trials, the SSRI'S aren't found to be much more effective than placebos. And being that they actually have side effects on top of that make the people in the clinical trials taking them have even more of the placebo effect.
@samuraxo ..thats a lie...people do NOT need SSRIs to prevent suicides. Depression is real. SSRIs are not the answer...they are pioson and INCREASE the risk of a suicide.
I agree if you go cold turkey off this shit you can loose your mind. Its being on SSRIs for years and years.. 15 myslef.. when going off them you litterally LOOSE YOUR MIND. you are not insane to begin with.. the drugs.. make you insane.. slowly over a period of years and years.. I never being self mutilation or attempted suicide until AFTER I was prescribed these SSRIs when i was only 13 years old. My mind had yet to develop and was abruptly altered in a very severe way and threatening to stop
Excellent video! I was on prozac for several years. I started having problems recently with it, it seemed to increase my depression. I am now attempting to wean myself off of this drug and find a drug free way to deal with anxiety and depression.
that's right. There is NO physical withdrawal from THC AND has many medical uses. I believe that marijuna could be used as a antidepressant for many, many people. The thing is we,as a society, will look back and be astonished at the level of mental anquish caused by these dangerous pharmacueticals. I say these MDs should be held responsible for the cruelty they inflict on innocent folks lifes. We need to hold these bums ACCOUNTABLE!
10 years is faaaar too long to be on an anti-depressant, thats YOUR mistake. and for all of you roaring about how much you know, you don't. I understand the fear and these pills definately arn't miracles in a bottle. But when you deal with crippling anxiety day to day, these meds can give you the kickstart to recovery. you just have to know when to stop and how to stop. not stay on them for fucking 10 years
Yes, I agree. These medications should not be popped like vitamins for the rest of your life. I think it is a far wiser approach to use these in tandem with other simpler non-medicated methods, like regular (shocker) therapy (non-pill-pushing kinds), and exercise/physical activities (ideally outdoors), and (shocker again), improved and regular diet. wow, somehow that's just too much to ask of people.
@calimon00 yeah thats exactly how I've done it, I use 10mg cipralex which is a very mild SSRI (side effect wise) and a low dosage, mixed with excersize and good diet. I've been on them once before and did just fine, but an event in my life brought back some fierce anxiety. So I personally am taking steps to make sure I can get off these properly and never go back to them. I've only been taking them for about 3 months now and plan to ween off in the next couple.
What a bunch of bullshit. I take benzos and SSRI's, own 2 pistols and a 12 gauge for home defense, these medications do not create killers. Those people were fucked up in the head to begin with.
A smart, wise and responsible doctor, when consulting his/her patient, should regard SSRI's as part of the overall process of recovery which more often than not involves therapy appointments. The medication is chemical therapy. Therapy aims at obsoleting itself.
@Bananastickers2 They're off label for chronic pain. What do you do then? (My short answer, grow the hell up, deal with the anxiety of being off of them, deal with your problems and don't rely on a drug that destroys your very personality. But that's just me;)
ok companies who make all ssri shuld now b sued for suicidal encouragement i dont evn no y i take celexa, shit this clip has inspired me agenst my meds i dont think i want take them nemor but i cant stop ok ur rite they r addictive, shit how do i stop
JEWISH COMPANIES MAKE THIS POISSON...THIS IS THEIR HATE FOR ALL OF YOU....JEWS HAVE BEEN CALLED WELL POISSONERS IN THE MIDLE AGES IN THE EUROPE...FOR THIS REASON...THEY ARE POISSONERS...MURDERERS...FUCKING JEWS...LET'S BOYCOT THEIR COMPANIES...NEVER....NEVER...BUY ANYTHING FROM ISRAHELL AND JEWISH OWNED COMPANIES...LET'S PUT THEM OUT OF BUSINESS...!!!! FUCKING SATANIST JEWISH COMPANIES...ESPECIALY PHARMACEUTICAL JEWISH COMPANIES...ALL OF THEM ARE JEWISH OWNED...BUY HERBS AND VITAMINS!!! FUCKJEWS
THIS VIDEO TELLS THE ABSOLLUTE TRUTH. MY BRAIN IS DAMAGED NOW BY THESE DRUGS. I CANT FEEL ANY EMOTIONS , POSITIVE OR NEGATIVE . I FEEL LIKE I AM DEAD FROM INSIDE. DONT EVER TAKE ANY OF THESE POISONS. OR IF YOURE OUN THEM TAPER VERY SLOWLY TO AVOID AS MUCH BRAIN DAMAGE AS POSSIBLE.
YOU KNOW WHAT'S EVEN MORE INTERESTING.... I HAD A FRIEND WHO HAD AN AURA PICTURE TAKEN... AND HIS AURA WAS BLACK!! ANYONE BEFORE HIM AND AFTER HIM HAD COLOURS... BUT HIS WAS BLACK!! CREEPY!! ANYONE ELSE I HAVE KNOWN ON THOSE PILLS CARRYS THAT SAME DARK CLOUD BECAUSE OF THESE DRUGS! COME OFF SLOWLY... TAKE FISH OIL, VIT B3... AND MAGNISIUM CITRATE 1000 MGS PER DAY TO CALM THE BRAIN. AND STAY AWAY FROM GLUTEN
@WORLDWARIIIVERYSOON Its true I have the same dark cloud in my brain. I lost all human emotions and feelings I feel like Im dead from inside. And its all because of these drugs. I feel sometime that God left me
psychiatrists are DESTROYING our civilization. We must form allies with like-minded groups and survivors and fight them back. psychiatrists need to be in prison for the rest of their lives (no parole). psychiatrists KNOW the harm they cause but still do it for sadistic gratification and having control over people. You wont believe the evil of psychiatrists, its mind blowing.
I'm not the drugs that are bad, it's the fact that they are being prescribed. You go to a physician and describe your feelings, that may generally be signs of depression-therefore you get an SSRI. They need a new system of prescribing. Psychiatrists should be the doctors that can prescribes SSRI's
im probibly going to get get smashed for saying this but it is just as much if not more of the patiants fault for taking these drugs they hate. every packet had all the warnings in it. i read them and still chose to still take the zoloft. i found it wasnt that effective for me but still gave it a shot for 6 months. i am now seeing a phycologist insted and she has helped me 100% more with my problems then and pill or illegal drug has. it is just a longer, harder process
@drempt1 YOU SEE... THAT'S WHERE YOU ARE RIGHT!! MOST PEOPLE DON'T WANT TO TAKE THE LONGER AND HARDER PROCESS... BUT IN THE END YOU WILL WIN!! THESE DRUGS JUST MASK THE PROBLEM! IF THEY EVEN WORK AT ALL! YOU'RE ON THE RIGHT TRACK! GOOD LUCK!
These drugs wipe out your memory COMPLETELY, they HYPNOTIZE you when you dont expect it. Once u take psychiatric drugs ...... YOU CANT EVER GET OFF. Coming off will make you INSANE. DONT TAKE PSYCHIATRIC DRUGS!!!.
psychiatrists and doctors KNOW these drugs cause permanent damage but dont care and still prescribe and kill people INTENTIONALLY. These drugs are EXPERIMENTS. those who torture people with these drugs will be punished by God.
SSRIs don't make you violent and they aren't addictive, at least there's no convincing reason to show they do.
But I think we can agree here, there are some powerful tequniques for combatting depression without medication i.ie. CBT and these should be used as much as possible and antidepressants less so.
SHIT im on celexa no wonder im still depressed cuz it doesn't even work wow now i finaly found the truth on my medication shit..thanks jonlangevin3101 damn knew that it didnt work somehow but now i have some 1 backing me up
After 4 days that Paxil Shit put me in the pshyc ward for a week and they had to put me on valium to calm my brain, Then another stupid ass pshyco Quack wanted to put me on a different SSRI and I told him to shove them up his fucking ass and
Lexapro caused permanent brain damage for me. Only one 10mg pill almost 5 years ago. Some of us are very sensitive and possibly there is a genetic reason or possible missing enzyme in the liver to metabolize certain drugs. But I am certain that I was severely harmed by the Lexapro, no matter how strange or impossible people might argue. This may be rare but it did happen to me.
i agree..... Pharmaceutical industry could give a rat's ass about Health.... they just wanna SELL DRUGS, and MAKE MONEY .... cruel heartless ShitStem that it is....
This video is the biggest load of crap I've ever seen. Antidepressants are NOT that difficult to come off of. My mom had been taking Celexa for over a year and quit COLD TURKEY and experienced no withdrawals at all. She experiences a little stress here and there currently but who doesn't? I've tried a few antidepressants for my OCD (Most of which produced some gnarly side effects) but I've managed to find Celexa tolerable. Fact of the matter is, THEY HELP PEOPLE. Fuck this video.
Thank you for your video. I have devoted the past 20+ years of my life doing everything possible to stop or slow down this SSRI/SNRI nightmare. The science behind this is clear IF you can get anyone to read it. Keep it up and come join us at the International Coalition for Drug Awareness & check out our database of SSRI adverse reaction cases of violence, etc. by Googling SSRIstories. Amazingly the world remains clueless to the fact that SSRIs are little different than PCP - Angel Dust!
@jessicaelainek Nope i wont do it. Wanna know why? because paxil is one of the better ones. They all suck but none should be banned. Banning one wont do any good anyways. What they should do is actually make decent fucking medicines that actually work, and the drug companies have to stop downplaying the negatives, and doctors have to stop handing them out like candy. Some people need SSRI's, but the people that need them are about 1 in 800 or so. Candy tastes good, ssris taste like shit!
The reason why people liike SSRIs is because reality loses its sting. You don't worry or care about what people think of you or how you are getting along in life. You're full of confidence and love. That's great, right?
Well, I can't speak for anyone else, but I believe SSRIs have crippled me. It's getting better, but two years after getting off of 200mg of sertraline a day I still sometimes consciously wonder, "What is the emotion I'm supposed to be feeling right now?"
I'm currently on Citalopram, have been for a while now, and it is working. I just want to say that these are risks, like any medication, this one has risks.
Natural is the way. Take B Vitamins with extra Niacin, avoid Caffeine, take Omega 3. I have been off Celexa for about 3-4 weeks and the side effects such as Carb craving, low energy are still there. I am glad I quit.
GOOD VIDEO... No one can talk unless you've seen this side of these very harmful drugs. Wake up people, do some research, and then decide if you should take SSRIs. It is moreso they are overprescribed, and out of the boundaries of those patients who truly need them. If you are in the field of Psychology, fuck you. Do some research before you prescribe these drugs. The FDA, Eli Lilly, and all of those companies make so much money off of antidepressants and antipsychotics.
@Brian257043 - I bet these morons commenting don't even realize what Prozac is now being called and marketed for since the patent ran out. Nor do they probably know how PCP got its start.
Psychologists don't prescribe drugs, psychiatrists do. Psychologists mostly give psychological analyses and therapy that in most cases would suffice to change a potential over-medicated patient's mood for the better, which would make a psychiatrist useless. Psychiatrists are doctors and often like to hand out dangerous drugs like candy especially if it has the patient coming back to them. Psychiatrists are legal dealers. Legal schmegal, drugs are drugs.
I love seeing all these people telling others to stop taking their medication! ooh oh "but do it slowly"..eh, nothing gives you the right to comment on the treatment people try, just coz it didn't work for you...how exactly is fear mongering gonna help??? Sillyness...And plus, most SSRI's are used for anxiety disorders, and SNRI's for depression, so what do you think a poor sod with an anxiety disorder is gonna do after reading all this fear mongering crap? Shame on all of you..pfft
these drugs are on the market because they work, dont let youtube bloggers fool you, if you have true depression ssri's will help...95% of bloggers are negative but 100% of people i know have had positive results with minor side effects..i personally would have been hospitalized without cymbalta but the drug snapped me out of it and gave me back my entire life
Most SSRIs contain fluorine, which is toxic. These drugs can wreak havoc on brain chemistry and can have irreversible effects. If you are currently taking an SSRI,please stop, but do it gradually.
@Goldfrappe hmm. u should look into spect brain scanning...brain scans can be very useful. i accidentally ended up getting through depression after using some entheogens. u could take ecstacy, acid, psilocybin, DMT,marijuana etc. strong doses of these have greatly helped people through depression/anxiety etc...but psychedelics wont work for everyone. i wouldnt recomend them, because youre playing with fire. but as a last resort, hell why not. i find hanging out with friends alot helps as well...
the guy who made this video must've had some serious problems with SSRIs, but please remember people, he is in the minority. Myself and many, many others have had their lives changed for the better and possibly even saved by these drugs. Always listen to what your doctor has to say before you listen to anyone else's advice, especially someone on the internet.
Would you say death is a horrible experience? That is what happened to my relative. Went in for a back ache, now dead because the dr. put him on Cymbalta. Never had a suicidal thought until on the mind-altering substance. Doesn't happen to everyone but most school shooters and I bet the AZ shooter will be found to have been on anti-depressants. Not worth the tradeoff. Most people that are on this stuff fight to stay on because it is addictive. Good luck to you. Research alt. ways to come off.
You should mention that they are side effects which often go within the first 2 weeks. They don't carry on the whole time you have them, just when your body adjusts. Most GPs are very good at explaining the risks & even gave me a number to call should it be out of hours and i feel i need to talk.
basically, from all that I've read on the internet about SSRI's or antidepressants...what they pretty much do is fuck with your head and see what happens. But you have no idea what the outcome will be. Some people get suicidal, some people get diarreah, some people lose libido. But in the end the only good that can come of it is that you'll feel 'just ok' with yourself or 'more level' but you're still guaranteed side effects. Fuck that, I'm not risking it.
i suffered from anxiety for a couple of years so i was put on prozac. needless to say it took away some of my anxiety but made me extremely depressed! so i got off prozac and starting popping klonopin and it damn well treated most of my anxiety! but i was abusing them so i had to stop taking them and i was put on celexa about 2 months ago. i feel way more depressed then i've ever felt in my life. SSRI'S have changed my whole personality! i don't recommend taking anti depressants.
If they help you they help. Fuck whatever propaganda you see. I never considered suicide or became violent on SSRI's. You make people think that taking Lexapro will send you on a shooting spree when in fact millions of people take it. That's fucking ridiculous.
Well since you had no success , I guess we should all just give up on getting help. What a terrible message to post especially for people who are on the fence about getting help.
@JoeCool031619 NO SHIT, i am on Celexa and all i am thinking now is Uh Oh....
I can say Celexa to me has been WONDERFUL and in fact, i am almost doing too much in life right now....lol. Feeling SO much better but i am not sure about the long term effects??
@fitasafiddle123 I too just started on 20mg Celexa. I'm 30 & I wish I would have gone to the dr 10 yrs ago b/c I finally feel like a human again...But like you said I'm not sure what longterm effects there may be but it can't be worse than the alternative of feeling like shit everyday. The xanax helps too...
@JoeCool031619 I KNOW. I was taking 10 mg but i am trying to go with 5mgs and it is ok. I do notice my "sex drive" coming back alot more, but i do find that i get alittle more down at times but nothing i cant handle you know?
Maybe you could cut down to 10mg's per day. I am sure you could by now.
Ask your doctor.
I went off celexa last year WAY to fast, and i started feeling bumbed out again slowly, so i went right back on them
@fitasafiddle123 I just started 2 weeks ago & I have to go back to the Dr. in 3 weeks to see if I need a smaller or larger dose. So far my only complaint is when I first take the pill everyday I start yawning & my eyes water, plus I feel a bit gassy but nothing serious. I found taking a xanax with it helps a lot. Overall though I'm glad I started taking them.
@fitasafiddle123 Well I've been with the same gf for 5 yrs so my mojo is come & go as it is :) so I haven't noticed any changes from the meds so far. But put some strange in my face & I shouldn't have any problems...lol
@fitasafiddle123 LOL...Seriously though so far I've experienced zero sexual side effects from the meds other than slightly less sensation down there which makes me be able to go a bit longer, which happens to make the gf happier. So far so good with my experience on Celexa.
@JoeCool031619 Hey, that's good Joe, me too. I have been on them now for nearly 2 years....but like i said, i am now taking 5 mg's/day which is a very very low dose. I think it just maintains what i have?? I hope to get off them someday.
And yes, agreed on the less sensation, and you do last longer..(awkward talk...lol)
Good talking with you Joe and comparing, it helps a ton:)
First, its actually very easy to stop taking your meds. Its not good for you or advisable, but I've quit myself a few times. I always come back to them for the next point. Even though they cause a lot of issues, the issues are minute compared to the relief I get. I get lethargic and apathetic. However, I do get some kind of relief from my anxiety and depression. I don't worry about things that really should not be worried about. I am not hopeless anymore. That, is why SSRIs are worth the trouble
from my experience I can tell you that anti-depressants have made my life livable. I am as anti medication as anyone you will find but when Im not taking Lexapro I am Mean and upset all of the time. I had to ask myself; " Do I want to be a jerk to my family and co-workers or am I going to take a little pill that doesnt make me happy, but makes me more genial. I chose the pill.
@usblues100 i agree. i'm in the same situation dealing with anxiety, depression and panic disorder. i've tried everything natural and nothing has improved in my life. i have to consider a medication at this point. I'd rather take a pill and be happy than be miserable every day.
LONG LIVE SSRI'S AND BENZODIAZAPINES! FREE MARKETS! DO YOUR RESEARCH AND BE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR OWN ACTIONS. THERE IS RISK INVOLVED IN ANY MEDICATIONS..... PROZAC, CELEXA, LEXAPRO; MIRACLES OF SCIENCE FOR SOME AND I'M SORRY YOU HAD A BAD EXPERIENCE; NO ONE FORCED YOU TO TAKE PSYCH MEDS. YOU TOOK THEM VOLUNTARILY... I HOPE YOU HAVE FOUND SOMETHING THAT WORKS OR WERE ABLE TO OVERCOME THE WITHDRAWL...
my sucaidal thoughts got worse for the first two weeks. then i started to get better it took 3 months to feel okayish.before taking it it was hell. I had no energy, i slept all the time. evrything was meaningless. It is a risk, and a chance to get better, and it is very strange to decide coz of the depression you have already problems with decisions. when u feel bad u cannot go to a doctor when u feel better u dont want to...I felt sooo bad when i had a better day i asked a friend to take me...
Taking SSRIs for 1 week ruined my life. They damaged my brain and left me with permanent sexual dysfunction. While I have no doubt that many people find these drugs helpful, I feel that warnings should be placed on SSRIs letting people know that there is a small chance of permanent and devastating effects.
Amen! I was given SSRIs for an eating disorder. BAD idea. They made me eat like crazy and gain a shit-ton of weight which made me seriously consider suicide. I am way over that now but I recently quit Celexa bc it made me lazy and apathetic and piggish. I was not myself on SSRIs and they just treated the symptoms of my depression, not the cause. Depression is a reaction to life events, not a "treatable illness." Great video, and great song!
Thank you for the misleading and uninformative video. Yes, SSRIs can cause suicidal thoughts and should be monitored but there is no way any competent doctor would let you take these drugs for 10 years. If you really want off them, slowly lower the dosage and check yourself into a mental hospital.
@macronewb Ive been taking this drug for five years. Its ok unless I miss a dose and have tryed to cut down from 20mg's and my anxiety symptoms came back. Told my doctors I might try to stop taking them when my kids are older but the longer I take them the worse it's getting. The doctors say it's up to me when I want to try getting off them and really don't mind when that is. Personally I think I will be on them for life
@DRAGONFLYS06 don't beat yourself up. so many people need help and can't even get it. if it helps you function with no severely negative drawbacks, then what's so bad about it?
there's something called evidence based research (EBR) and practiced. If someone was to read EBR on SSRIs, they would find that they are very helpful to a lot of people. Another thing to take into consideration, is that a lot of people are already suicidal when starting SSRIs, so it is hard to determine if the drug is the main cause of suicide attempts. Remember EBR, not one persons or even 100 peoples experiences, is a better way to go.
Medication has changed my life for the better-everyone is different. I would suggest that if you want to discontinue meds that you taper off slowly or else you will have some awful flu like symptoms. Find a good doctor. Go to support groups. Meds are not the total solution but they can really help. I wish you luck and peace.......Amy
talked to my pysch, he said most of these symptoms wouldn't even occur in humans if they took a particular SSRI, the pharm companies just put these down to cover their ass. So I think you'll be okay.
I'm now on day three of taking citalopram and feel more anxious than before, shaky, floaty and am clenching my teeth like it's goin out of fashion. I am definitely stopping it before there's any chance of withdrawal.
It's the same case for me, and it's only been a week at the most. I feel like I am going insane on these meds, and the nausea is not worth it at all. I am already having withdrawal symptoms. Drugs will not cure you, they just alter your mind and body, the only "cure" is good therapy.
@Jukukiwaiyi2 THANK YOU. This individuals subjective experience is not emprical data. Do research."All meds have risks and benefits. I can't take tylenol, because it has devastating side effects on my body. However, it helps millions of others. I don't go on a campaign to tell the entire world tylenol is evil, because I can not benefit from it. Free markets, research for yourself and make your own choice; knowing the risks and benefits..
@bluenitepoet exactly, and it makes people like me who struggle with depression anxiety and panic constantly become scared and not want to seek out the help of medication. ive tried many things but nothing helps, and medication is now probably my only means of help
@Goldfrappe I'm currently taking celexa, trazadone, xanax extended release and a PRN of immediate release xanax. Pharmacology has given me back my sense of well being and put my anxiety in check. So what if I have to take it for life. People take insulin for life too. There is so much stigma about SSRI's and benzodiazapenes being addictive. It's called medical dependance to control a medical condition. I hope medication helps. I know how scary and hard it can be. Take care...
@blueknightpoet you have probibly herd things like this before but be VERY VERY VERY carefull with xanax if you do choose to come off it the withdrawls are worse then heroin, meth or any other drug i can think of. many people have died trying to GET OF the drug.
@drempt1 Thank you for the heads up on the xanax. I have a good pharmacologists and know that seizures and serious complications can occur with trying to just quit. I've been dealing with this for 15 years. The first time I tried to get off xanax we tappered off to a low dose and then to a less stronger benzo to avoid complications. Nonetheless, thank you for remininding of the pros and cons. Joey
@blueknightpoet makes me happy to hear you understand all of this AND have somebody out there thats not feeding you meds without telling you what could happen and is also helping you come of them if needed. reason for my hate for meds is i have had friends who were put on benzos at an early age for anxiety and were never warned of the dangers. none the less there life has been seriously messed up because of this. personaly i have tried all meds and have decided to try overcome this without meds.
@blueknightpoet "Medical dependence to control a medical condition"
WHAT THE FUCK are you talking about? Did that even make sense to you? Is it some kind of quasi-concept? You're on Xanax... Receive my greatest sympathy. I'm not joking. I feel so sorry for your apparent cluelessness about the excruciating experience that you're going to go through if you ever want to get off it. Heed my words, you are going to curse the doctor that prescribed you that shit. Good luck & be well.
highly addictive and almost impossible to stop? I stopped alright... it seems youre making it out to be slightly worse than they are, but i gotta say...people should only take them after a long think, and if theyre problems are daily crap, not just if they're a little sad for a few days.
those bad side effects a not as bad as severe anxiety everyday! I mean i had to weigh it up in my head, live with the side effects and mild anxiety, or just strong anxiety, you see they didnt seem very effective to me so i stopped.
i think some of the points made in this video are a little extreme, though have come off citalpram recently after 3 years as I am attempting to try and be more connected to self in the body
where is the evidence regarding the effect of SSRI on the kidneys ??
@JeVoudrais12 can i please ask you how you were when you first came off them? i have just come off after 3 years, slowly but have just got over the brain zaps and vertigo, but now very stressed, angry and bursting into tears at drop of a hat. cannot decide if this is withdrawl symptoms or how i am gonna be from now on. appreciate your view as you are 5 months on from me. : )
this video is right! theres better ways to deal with depression or anything that would be perscribed SSRI. All ssri does is take the little seratonin you have and force it into the brain and does not allow the brain to recycle it, so now u have less seratonin then you did when u started, Resulting in suicide, axiety, anger, murder. ect. Why not take L-Tryptophan it actualy produces seratonin!!!! da its a no brainer. its all natural. drug companies cant make billions of dollars from it tho.
""All ssri does is take the little seratonin you have and force it into the brain and does not allow the brain to recycle it, so now u have less seratonin then you did when u started, Resulting in suicide, axiety, anger, murder. ect.""
My son is on Lexapro 20mg. Abilify 5mg and clonzepam! All of it does help him! He has OCD and ADD. Depression! I have heard the bad stories on it! He has been on them for about a year in a half! Wish to get him off but his symptoms of depression, Anger and other problems hinder him!
I was hospitalized against my will even though I showed no signs of suicidal ideation, OR depression.... wtf? They gave me zoloft because I was sad because I was grieving my cousin's death and I was angry and upset at my husband... wtf?
MissCaramel1228 16 hours ago
Hospitals shouldn't keep you in the psych ward against your will. I was hospitalized against my will in 2009 and 2011. The hospital told me if I try to walk out, I will be injected with a big needle in my butt and then be subdued and taken to the psych ward, even though I had no signs of drug overdose. I was just acting out because my cousin just died, I was grieving and my husband made me angry. Hospitals shouldn't be allowed to hospitalise patients against their will.

CarolyntheGreat 2 months ago
@CarolyntheGreat "Addiction" involves cravings or seeking behaviors. Dependency is more accurate. As far as their efficacy, I would have been dead eight years ago if it were not for Zoloft. It all started when my periods came back after decades of absence. It was horrible, and food allergies gave me four days of hell. PMDD is being studied, and it is definitely triggered by ovulation. There's also a connect between circulating, free estrogen in the blood versus bound estrogen.
anebturia 2 months ago
@CarolyntheGreat ..it won't kill you. Mind you that's what my Dr. Told me..that it would kill me...it didn't. Depency,addiction...just words...stop taking them and you go into withdrawal. Anyway Merry Christmas/

these drugs are like any other street drug they make you feel good but actually make your life worser.

ThePastorGregory 2 months ago
@Zer0cropped ..the science is flawed..it's a lie. The money in SSRIs is huge. They don't care about your well being. They are lying to you. No good EVER comes from taking SSRIs.

@Zer0cropped ..psychiatry is owned by Big Pharma. SSRI's are bad.
ThePastorGregory 2 months ago
@ThePastorGregory You are wrong. I can very much tell you that PMDD-Severe is very physical and very real. Unless talk therapy can raise my free, circulating estrogen levels (and %-free circulating levels) in the blood and lower SHBG, and unless you can talk your way out of secondary mechanisms such as vitamin D levels that subsequently plummet, then spiritual or talk therapy doesn't work. Endogenous depression is a whole new animal than exogenous depression.
anebturia 2 months ago
@anebturia ..talk therapy does not work...I mean it's great to have someone to talk to for sure.... BUT it'll do little good if you don't have the right nutrients. You have been told...if you want to live your life in denial ...go ahead....have a nice day....:) Lots of people can't see past their drugs...all is you're doing is defending an addiction.

The fact is that in clinical trials, the SSRI'S aren't found to be much more effective than placebos. And being that they actually have side effects on top of that make the people in the clinical trials taking them have even more of the placebo effect.

10 years is faaaar too long to be on an anti-depressant, thats YOUR mistake. and for all of you roaring about how much you know, you don't. I understand the fear and these pills definately arn't miracles in a bottle. But when you deal with crippling anxiety day to day, these meds can give you the kickstart to recovery. you just have to know when to stop and how to stop. not stay on them for fucking 10 years
Bananastickers2 4 months ago
@Bananastickers2
Yes, I agree. These medications should not be popped like vitamins for the rest of your life. I think it is a far wiser approach to use these in tandem with other simpler non-medicated methods, like regular (shocker) therapy (non-pill-pushing kinds), and exercise/physical activities (ideally outdoors), and (shocker again), improved and regular diet. wow, somehow that's just too much to ask of people.
calimon00 4 months ago
@calimon00 yeah thats exactly how I've done it, I use 10mg cipralex which is a very mild SSRI (side effect wise) and a low dosage, mixed with excersize and good diet. I've been on them once before and did just fine, but an event in my life brought back some fierce anxiety. So I personally am taking steps to make sure I can get off these properly and never go back to them. I've only been taking them for about 3 months now and plan to ween off in the next couple.

ativan26 3 months ago 2
@calimon00
A smart, wise and responsible doctor, when consulting his/her patient, should regard SSRI's as part of the overall process of recovery which more often than not involves therapy appointments. The medication is chemical therapy. Therapy aims at obsoleting itself.
CorneliusFractogram 4 months ago
@Bananastickers2 They're off label for chronic pain. What do you do then? (My short answer, grow the hell up, deal with the anxiety of being off of them, deal with your problems and don't rely on a drug that destroys your very personality. But that's just me;)

psychiatrists are DESTROYING our civilization. We must form allies with like-minded groups and survivors and fight them back. psychiatrists need to be in prison for the rest of their lives (no parole). psychiatrists KNOW the harm they cause but still do it for sadistic gratification and having control over people. I'm not the drugs that are bad, it's the fact that they are being prescribed. You go to a physician and describe your feelings, that may generally be signs of depression-therefore you get an SSRI. They need a new system of prescribing. Psychiatrists should be the doctors that can prescribes SSRI's

But I think we can agree here, there are some powerful tequniques for combatting depression without medication i.ie. CBT and these should be used as much as possible and antidepressants less so.

Brian257043 10 months ago 8
@Brian257043 - I bet these morons commenting don't even realize what Prozac is now being called and marketed for since the patent ran out. Nor do they probably know how PCP got its start.
wendycoriell 9 months ago
@Brian257043

Maybe you could cut down to 10mg's per day. I am sure you could by now.

I went off celexa last year WAY to fast, and i started feeling bumbed out again slowly, so i went right back on them
fitasafiddle123 1 year ago
@fitasafiddle123 I just started 2 weeks ago & I have to go back to the Dr. in 3 weeks to see if I need a smaller or larger dose. So far my only complaint is when I first take the pill everyday I start yawning & my eyes water, plus I feel a bit gassy but nothing serious. I found taking a xanax with it helps a lot. Overall though I'm glad I started taking them.

@JoeCool031619 I never had the watery eyes, but i noticed Celexa knocks the hell out of my "mojo"....ya know, sex drive? Have you noticed this?
Give it time, its only been 2 weeks and i bet you start to feel better soon. It SURE helped me.
Be Happy:)
fitasafiddle123 1 year ago
@fitasafiddle123 Well I've been with the same gf for 5 yrs so my mojo is come & go as it is :) so I haven't noticed any changes from the meds so far. But put some strange in my face & I shouldn't have any problems...lol
JoeCool031619 1 year ago
@JoeCool031619 LMFAO....AGREED! No doubt, i think i can echo that thought.
Frig, i hope my gf doesn't see this??!!
..too funny Joe!
fitasafiddle123 1 year ago
@fitasafiddle123 LOL...Seriously though so far I've experienced zero sexual side effects from the meds other than slightly less sensation down there which makes me be able to go a bit longer, which happens to make the gf happier. So far so good with my experience on Celexa.
JoeCool031619 1 year ago
@JoeCool031619 Hey, that's good Joe, me too. I have been on them now for nearly 2 years....but like i said, i am now taking 5 mg's/day which is a very very low dose. I think it just maintains what i have?? I hope to get off them someday.
And yes, agreed on the less sensation, and you do last longer..(awkward talk...lol)
Good talking with you Joe and comparing, it helps a ton:)
fitasafiddle123 1 year ago
@JoeCool031619 sam, when I was on celexa I could go noticably longer.

I chose the pill.
usblues100 1 year ago

I'm as mad as hell, and I'm not going to take it anymore!!
berner 1 year ago
Depression is a reaction to life events, not a "treatable illness." Great video, and great song!
erinenna 1 year ago
Thank you for the misleading and uninformative video. Yes, SSRIs can cause suicidal thoughts and should be monitored but there is no way any competent doctor would let you take these drugs for 10 years. If you really want off them, slowly lower the dosage and check yourself into a mental hospital.
macronewb 1 year ago
@macronewb Ive been taking this drug for five years. Its ok unless I miss a dose and have tryed to cut down from 20mg's and my anxiety symptoms came back. Told my doctors I might try to stop taking them when my kids are older but the longer I take them the worse it's getting. The doctors say it's up to me when I want to try getting off them and really don't mind when that is. Personally I think I will be on them for life
DRAGONFLYS06 1 year ago
@DRAGONFLYS06 don't beat yourself up. so many people need help and can't even get it. if it helps you function with no severely negative drawbacks, then what's so bad about it?
Goldfrappe 7 months ago
there's something called evidence based research (EBR) and practiced.

I wish you luck and peace.......Amy
koreamy 1 year ago
talked to my pysch, he said most of these symptoms wouldn't even occur in humans if they took a particular SSRI, the pharm companies just put these down to cover their ass. So I think you'll be okay.

I'm now on day three of taking citalopram and feel more anxious than before, shaky, floaty and am clenching my teeth like it's goin out of fashion. I am definitely stopping it before there's any chance of withdrawal.

ColonelCatafe 1 year ago

Goldfrappe 7 months ago
@Goldfrappe I'm currently taking celexa, trazadone, xanax extended release and a PRN of immediate release xanax. Pharmacology has given me back my sense of well being and put my anxiety in check. So what if I have to take it for life. People take insulin for life too. There is so much stigma about SSRI's and benzodiazapenes being addictive. It's called medical dependance to control a medical condition. I hope medication helps. I know how scary and hard it can be. Take care...
blueknightpoet 6 months ago
@blueknightpoet you have probibly herd things like this before but be VERY VERY VERY carefull with xanax if you do choose to come off it the withdrawls are worse then heroin, meth or any other drug i can think of. many people have died trying to GET OF the drug.
drempt1 6 months ago

I would be interested to see that!
JeVoudrais12 2 years ago
