  • I THINK the difference between lines back then and now is that back then they went very very deep into technique and interpretation of the music. Now its just ram and crescendos to make it look like you have a good technique. Not saying guys today dont have technique.

  • cleanest snareline i've ever heard

  • new name for those stick heights: "chin ups" hahaha

  • Refreshing...

  • BD will never sound like this again unless they go back to using vicfirth MS2(as in this vid)

  • Man, such good interp at :07

  • bass visual 3:48-3:50 anybody else notice? haha

  • snare rolls here sound like paper, and yet still they are oh so clean. Sorry timmie and the 09 gang, as good as you are, you get ousted

  • Roger C marched 89, George C 90 91, Mike R 91 92, Roger Dale Ladd Jr 92 93 and Ty 93.

  • @TyAllinger - Oops, I was thinking '92. You'd know.

  • yeah, 94' Devils was a a breakthrough in DCI . . . I remember seeing alot of those guys in the snare line at VK the year before.

  • @erockadus Which cats marched with VK the yr before?

  • @jeffe77 Ty and Roger Ladd - VK 93

  • @jeffe77 I think: Mike R., Roger L., and George C. - I think that was it.

  • @jeffe77 I think the center snare (roger) marched vk prior to BD

  • @sixty9fordkiller Roger went straight from the B corps to the A corps; he never marched anywhere but Devs.

  • 1:35 and on.... clean as a germophobes rear end

  • haha this is just STUPIDLY clean.... nobody is this clean anymore :-(

  • @chutdigadut as clean as scott johnson's remote control 94 line? fuh get about it!

  • YES. This brings back memories of when Drumlines knew what "Clean" meant. CHRIST THIS IS GOOD.

  • oh rodger. yes.

  • Its really too bad that more of this didn't make the finals video for that year. I remember watching the video for the first time and when the camera cut away on the monkey drumming thinking "WTF!?!" I guess "I'm still wet!" is more important to get recorded.

  • That Monkey Drumming is the Root (i believe) of all the body movement we see now 2010. What's next?

  • Try Star of Indiana circa 1993, Closer of the show.

  • Good call, it can be argued that Star 93 is the line that introduced Vertical drumming. (scv91)

  • @damjiboo I think WGI had more to do with body movement than anything else. 2001-2002 had some really weird shows (Avon High School) that blew everyone away with their body movement. DCI has changed a lot since WGI's inception. Star did some wicked high sticking but BD is the corps that really hyped the alternate "Monkey" sticking. This is history!

  • I love the monkey drumming.

  • Cadet's book this year was note-for-note more difficult, and was just as clean if not cleaner than this line, however, there was something about the super QOS, wow-factor, and general bad-assness that made this line, and corps, go undefeated in 1994.

  • Especially at 0:32, that part was used for the 3rd or 4th mvt of Fiddler on the Roof

  • Are these the guys who started the monkey arm crap ?? Shame, I think it's rather stupid and gay but I'm old school. Not the most difficult book in the world either.

  • Yes because having the drumline park and play for 2 minutes to play a drum feature is so much better. :-P

  • too bad BD doesnt play these kinda beats anymore....

  • GODs!!!

  • I love the monkey arms haha.

Sucks to do with a harness on though.

  • Yeah,, they used T Harnesses for the 94 and 95 season

  • Ha, I must have been about 15-20 feet to your right.

  • Just to clarify. I don't want to take credit for this vid, I downloaded it a while back and posted it here.

  • this vid is soo full of win

  • they so stole this from brigs 2007

  • What?! Did they travel to the future and stole the idea?

  • DUH

  • this is so sick and the snares are so clean.
