Only the Raiders March at the beginning and at the end sounds good, but the rest doesn't sound like it should.

It only sounds that way because it is a mixture of Raiders of the Lost Ark at the beginning, Then the temple of Doom, then The Last Crusade. That's why it sounds funny.
