This is honestly the most respectful song I've ever heard. Nobody else writes songs about war, & how much people love all the ones who have died out there. This song shows true passion, & that no matter how far away someone is, they'll never be forgotten. Don't comment on this video if you don't have anything nice to say about it. I'm sure the dixie chicks have already gotten enough about it, so hop off. I love this song. <3

I like this song a lot, but my favorite part is the chorus. I just think that she puts so much emotion into it when she sings. I lost a solider because of a fucking disease he got in Iraq. If he got help he might just be here today.

@cutielala09 You're dumb, please re-read the lyrics and you will see that you are wrong. They were at a football game and they were saying the names of the soldiers who had died in war "a list of local Vietnam dead" and paid there respects. That's why the girl in the song was so sad, because she heard the name of the man who she loved on that list, meaning he died at war. So clearly you're wrong.

As for, "Vietnam dead" there's no point on denying that people did DIE in Vietnam. Pretending that it never happened would be an insult to their memory.

It's music, and personally i think this song is an amazing tribute to the fallen soldiers <3 and its very relatable as well

My daddy had to come home and be called babby killer, people ripped flags off of him treated him like shit cause he stood up for a cause and deffended himself, for those of you that r too young to understand or just plain stupid this is a great son for those who were there.

I just heard this song and I loved it! I realied the second time listening to it that the girl lost the guy she met, but I was confused it says HER HE and I. like he did this she cried under the stands and I'll never hold another hand... who is the I person? and when it says never more to be alone when it said a soilder is coming home... he died... or is he coming back... in that part of the song it is someone describing what she is doing. she is a girl in the marching band with a bow in her hair cryin all alone under the stands because she heard his name being read. and it says never more to be alone a soldier is coming home because when i soldier dies in the war they send a letter saying that he has passes. he is coming home because his body is being sent back to be buried. sad eh
