Clare is an interesting place-Daniel O'Connell from Kerry and Dev from Brooklyn both were elected by Claremen as MPs/TDs. Then,I think a South African of Indian ancestry was the first non-Caucasian elected to the irish parliament.

It suggests a fine tolerant generous people. Something indeed to be proud of in a world of intolerance.
