So I have been wondering, at the end of the episode when the bank vault door magically opens and Brian is carries Stewie off into the unknown, did they die? When they fell asleep, did they die? And was Brian carrying Stewie out the door a metaphor for going into another life? That's what I saw it as.
I bet when Seth MacFarlane started out with Family Guy, he never knew it would be Brian and Stewie, not Peter and Brian who would form a formidable double-act. They are probably the only two characters in the show who have evolved and truly bonded throughout the series. Not bad for a couple of 2D cartoon characters.
Yeah this was one of the best episodes iv seen too AND THE ENDING WAS GREAT! a different but good side of family guy for sure!!! i called my best friend after this episode!!!
In some way Stewie has changed for the worse and for the better, worse is that he's no longer the evil baby he once was, and better he's more funnier, kinder and understanding. Brian's still a great character even if he became annoying with his whole liberal crap. Everyone else has changed for the worse
I for one saw this episode and enjoyed it, I have seen some animated comedies go this way like futurama and the simpsons they sometimes throw in some dramatic episodes.
This was one of the worst episodes family guy has ever made. All of the new episodes are not funny anymore. In no way was this episode was "emotional" or was making "character development". It was just horrible.
You know, I don't think I've ever been more mad at this show's fanbase before now. I really really am, I thought I got over my preteen bias towards Simpsons, sure, I got sick of Family Guy forcing non-sequiters to the point where one of them had the nerve to say "You don't even know what this is referencing" and another where they basically poked fun at the fact that they TELL so many crappy jokes through non-sequiters, no, but hey, the fans had a right to a show that wasn't Simpsons, right?
We just took the bull by the horns and assumed because Peter didn't blow off his entire hand, Death didn't rape someone, Quagmire didn't say "Gigidy" for the 50th time, Stewie's sexuality wasn't called into question, or Brian/Stewie didn't make another racial joke, the show must obviously have terrible writing all of a sudden.
Oh ho. Yes, because one episode decided to actually have some philosiphical/intentional value beyond Family Guy's general "one punch" storytelling, the show is ruined.
See, here was an episode of Family Guy I watched because the ending/dialogue actually surprised me, and it wasn't a violent bowel movement of what otherwise would be some of the most repetitive, dry humor I've seen on this show. And here, again, a Family Guy fan just doesn't get it. If no one finds anything funny in this show anymore, I can't imagine how you'd ever understand Futurama. Did anyone actually consider this episode might actually have a "purpose"? No.
@12vCummins i agree , they resort to this, it wasent even funny, i think they dont pt enough effort into dialog and script writing anymore, family guy for me was way funnier back in the day
This is one of the best family guy episodes ever! No random gags, just all storyline! Brian and Stewie are what make Family Guy, Family Guy. Brian and Stewie episodes are my favorite because you know your going to have a great storyline with no random gags! I don't really care much for the other characters, Seth should make more Brian and Stewie episodes because they are the best Family Guy characters and episodes
@LadyJane6374, well, at least there's one or three Family Guy fans actually thinking out the episode plots. I'm not even saying Brian and Stewie are the only good characters, heck, I think they're two of the worst, but someone is seeing this episode had a lot more balls than most of the last couple of seasons.
So I have been wondering, at the end of the episode when the bank vault door magically opens and Brian is carries Stewie off into the unknown, did they die? When they fell asleep, did they die?
