listen to the original by bobby blue bland ... her remake is very very good, but the original really has the soul and wistful pain this song is all about.
am actually lookin for rod stewart's version & cant find it, then i found this..hmmm..i felt am in solitude...i love the girl..she has a diff touch..a deeper sense..so is gerry g, almost sound as bob dylan..i have to hear bobby blands piece yet.
Dieses Lied hab ich rauf und runter gehört, als mein über alles geliebter Hund im Sommer 2006 von uns gegangen ist =(...ich könnt jedes Mal auf´s neue in Tränen ausbrechen und unendlich weinen...
@S76N79 The only reason I had to find this song was that I watched the movie Stir of Echoes, otherwise I prolly wouldn't of heard this song ever if it wasn't for the movie >:D
So glad u thought so too! I just pay a lot of attn. to music in film as I'm a musician. When it's really appropriate to the "feel" of the movie I just love it!
This song is just so good. Its in my hands down fav movie of all times "stir of echoes" anyone who hasnt seen that movie its a must. It goes so good with the end....
my friend showed this to me. lovely <3

I'd never heard this version before, till I did a search for the lyrics.
I've had the Manhattan Transfer Version, which is very slick/polished and one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard.
This version, I love too, nice to hear it stripped back like this.

Just realised that the chord sequence matches 'Heaven' by Talking Heads.

Much better than her live version on here. I like her just not so much live.
Just my opinion.

You need to here Blues Legend Bobby "Blue" Bland original version of this song recorded in 1973. This doesn't even compare.
