@coolkenny13 Sorry, the M-3100U can only play "DivX 3.11, 4.x, 5.x, XVID, AVI, MPG, DAT, VOB, ISO, IFO". I also think the max resolution is 800x600, so this player isn't the best choice if you have a big TV and want sharp picture. Though, later versions of the Tvix do support both .mkv and higher resolutions, for example the M-6500A.
@thuyner thanks man . what is another box which you would recommend which is good at the same time cheap .i have heard of the western digi and the asus and the patriot . can you suggest something cheaper?
@coolkenny13 I'm not familiar with those players, - and I don't know so much about media players anymore (it was four years ago I had the interest for it and uploaded these videos), but one pretty cheap player that can play .mkv, that I know of, is the Popcorn Hour. You should take a look at it!
What kind of subtitles have you used? Which firmware is installed on your Tvix?
It doesn't support HD playback. I checked the box of my player, and it said it can perform 1080p scaling, - with other words, it can't play HD material, but it can improve the quality seen on a HDTV.
A fast and good way to see which of your avi files that should work well in the Tvix, is to download the free software TvixManager, and scan your movie folders.
I tried to rename the subtitle file exactly as the avi file but still no luck, although i saw a file name (SUBS) created automatically after renaming the SRT file.
IDX files aren't supposed to be used together with SRT files. Try removing either the SRT, or both the SUB and the IDX. The SRT contains text that the Tvix shows with its own subtitle font. SUB+IDX contains both the subtitles, and how they should look on screen. Maybe mixing them screws things up.
hey bro . can the tvix play other formats other than avi files. i wanna try mkv . because nowdays all the new blu ray rips files are mkv format

Hello my friend,
I bought this one today but i couldn't load subtitle text files for avi files while pressing the subtitle button on the remote control.
Also, its mentioned on the box that it supports 1080p hd playback but one their website they mentioned nothing about hd playback.
I don't have any hd files right now but i would like to know if you could load them with the device.
I wanted some help for these issues and please if you know anything, help me.
thanks

Thanks thuyner i get it.
My firmware version is 2.0.2.
Regarding the subtitles i used SRT and IDX
I tried to rename the subtitle file exactly as the avi file but still no luck, although i saw a file name (SUBS) created automatically after renaming the SRT file.

hi again,
i did not mix them, SRT & (SUB+IDX) were separated in different files

Then I can't help you. The subtitles -should- work, as long as there are no other files in the folder with the same file name (except from the AVI).
