  • very good in the 1st part , but ... the second part , just don't need to be there

  • nice playing man

  • Thanks ;)

  • geez, haters

  • i rofl your final twenty seconds. i am going to assume that you have recorded imporv solos over this multiple times, attempting to get one of them to be really good, and that last twenty seconds was off of your most epically failed attempt...

  • Let me explain the final 20 seconds for you ;) When I started recording the video and started playing the first note I hit was so wrong that it didn't make much sense to keep on playing. I did though, making it deliberately messy, just to make a joke.

I hope you don't really think that I started out like that, and then finally creating a decent improv? That would be nothing short of a miracle then ;)

  • in other words, my brother, you started off key, you are saying. i understand the mojo with terms more complicated than those of a regular slum, for i too am that of a talented musician. (please don't watch my vids they are very old and i have not uploaded but two more recent ones) so i guess i understand?...

you might also want to try writing solos for petrucci fever, they have awesome backing tracks for us to use, i am using one now to write my second awesome extended solo of all time.

  • @fatbubble123 dude, you sound way too cocky and arrogant, chill

  • @fatbubble123 its funny you should critisize someone else, this guy can obviously outplay you any day, and your failed eruption attempt is a joke, try tuning the guitar, practicing, and then maybe you can have an opinion about playing skill.

  • great stuff bro

  • Awesome

    *****

  • Thank you :)

  • At the tiime of this video, 13 years. This was 3 years ago.

  • Nice guitar work.

  • What advice would you give about learning how to sweep?

  • Send me a message with your first name and email address and I'll contact you on how to do it :)

  • Great playing! You made it look fluid and effortless! I do think that you could have ended the vid at 1:27 as that was a great slower ending. After that it seemed a bit messy to me. good job tho'...far better than i could manage!!!

  • My friend, the part after 1:27 is an intended joke :)

    But thanks anyway :)

  • u r the best guitarist on youtube

  • Thank you :)

    Great job my man.

  • lol nice where do you take this backing track?

  • Thanks. The backing track I got from my guitar teacher. If you like I can upload it for you, just let me know :)

  • Damn, awesome guitarplaying.

  • Incredible. I have a question: I have an Academy Stratocaster guitar, with the strings too high from the frets. Does that have anything to see with executing a fluent wrist vibrato? I´ve been trying to do a fluent vibrato since I started playing... 5 years ago. Thank you very much. Great Job!

  • Sorry for the slow response, I was on vacation :) It does make it harder to do a nice vibrato when the strings are (too) high from the frets because they're constantly trying to bring themselves back to their original height. So when the strings are high, the 'resistance' is high as well. Is there anyway you can adjust the height yourself? I'm sure it would help :) Send me a PM if you have anymore questions :)

  • wich effects do you use? and which guitar? the fredboard look like ibanez^^

  • The guitar is a Bo-El MC6 ( Marcel Coenen signature). I have an Ibanez too, but this one ourplays it :)

For recording I use a POD 2.0, Modern High Gain amp, some delay and some reverb. :)

  • you must have been playing guitar for a really long time to be able to inprov like that nice job

  • that sounds awesome. Where I could find tabs for this song?

  • Thanks! You can't find tabs for the solo, because I improvised it on the spot.

The backing track is actually taken from a song by Frank Gambale, but I don't know its title unfortunately... If I do come across the name I'll let you know.

  • Great ! Nice sweep and tapping. Nice end too ^^

  • You 're a good guitarplayer. It was very musical.Good job.

come to rate my video too.

    See you

  • pink guitiar ? ure a boy dude !

  • It's actually a red guitar, but on pictures and video it looks pink unfortunately.

  • I'm pretty sure if you can play guitar like that, you can choose whatever color guitar you like. ;-)

  • Thanks ;)

  • awesome stuff. LOL at the ending too

  • veeeeeerrryyyyyyyy niceeeeeee

  • wow, the sound is very good

and your tapping techniques are amazing. great video.five stars.

    \m/

  • Hey man, are you soloing in Em? I can't really tell just by the sound. It's pretty sick though.

  • Hi, yes it is pretty much in Em, but with a raised C ( C#) which means it's a Locrian mode. Except for the "chorus" part ( where I'm sweeping an ordinary C major arpeggio)

  • I Have 1 Word To Say To You: THAT WAS SO FLIPPIN AWESOME!

    Iain

  • Haha, Iain, I've known Remi for like 6 months! He's left some comments on the Cataclysmic website!

  • Thats awesomly tank. :D He's your teacher right?

  • I wish, but no.

  • your still better at speed picking and shredding then you are at sounding nice when your being slower and more emotional.. its still good

  • Hey, i jam to this backing track too, Gambale right?

  • Yes, that's right :)

  • Heya Remi, great soloing man ! The lessons took off eh ! I am glad things go good with you ! See you soon ! Marcel

  • Hey Marcel, thanks! Yes, your lessons were money well spent :) See you in a week or so for the final lesson! Remi

  • i finaly got a chance to surf lol i been tied up with stuff, its nice to your still doing peices, i sure wish i could play like that

  • hey wait, we've met didn't we? @ Marcel Coenen's place, I was there and you got your lessons, right? :D

    Cheerz man, you rock ;)

  • lol that last part..

Hmm I know this backingtrack, did it too sometime.

But; great playing man!!! Hey and is that a Bo-El MC6? Or did I see that wrong?

    cheerz!

  • back track sounds like Pink Floyd: Dirty Woman...good solo though, and its inevitable that things sound alike :)

  • amazing dude, you own, love the tapping and sweep tapping too (Y)

  • Thank you :)

  • yea thats cool the last bits quiet funny.u can play but that i no

  • Thanks for dharing thatm i really liked it

  • i don't understand the last part...

  • :) The last part is intended as a joke: I screwed that "take" up at the very first note. And because the camera was rolling anyway I made fun of myself that entire take by screwing everything up on purpose. So the last 20 seconds are from that take :)

  • the last 20 seconds is like me shredding haha!

  • awsome one of the best vids if seen in here

  • I like ya style of playing mate , my kinda music.

Jeez i ain't hear Gambale in years !.

Nice sound , nice feel , all in key etc etc.

Your a fine example of a good guitar player ;) , wd . cheers , Rick.

  • Thanks very much, I appreciate it! :)

  • haha! I'm still amazed by your playing...Absolutely amazing. Though, the last 20 seconds, seemed as if you were messing up on purpouse, just so you wouldn't seem like God. Finally see your face too! \m/

  • Thanks Alex! :) And the last 20 seconds are actually a small part of the first " take" which I really screwed up at the first note. So I decided to make fun of myself there, camera was rolling anyway :P

  • I knew it! Your to good to make mistakes!

  • wow, your a freak,fo half of that you werent even looking, you must never ever stop playing the guitar

  • :) Well, I play as often as I can, which isn't as often as I'd like ;)
