the Crawfords are like preying mantises-Fannys hair drives me nuts was'nt it improper to have her hair down in those days?she might be a poorer relation but was brought up in thier home while coming of age with proper manners- kinda reminds me of Anne in Persuasion were they all took advantage of her-like a servant--and Edward plays Mr Elloit the clergyman man in Emma 2009 not much different as this protrayel so far
Well, not mant people could do their own hair well, and I don't believe that they would have given her her own servant. And I think you meant Mr Elton ;D
Tom Bertram and Sir Thomas were the best charactors in this story, most of the female parts played true to normal form, with the exception of Fan of course.
I love Jane Austin, but this is a rather tedious adaptation. Maybe it is just difficult to see past the actors who we know from other roles. Maybe I should watch on...but don't think I can hack it lol
the really annoying thing about this production--and it's a petty one, but there it is--is that for all the expense they went through to make it, couldn't they have at least bought 'Fanny' a hair brush and made use of it? Geez. She looks like a grungy Michelle Williams.
Yeah, I dont understand why they have her hair that way..... what possessed them? I'm trying to watch this and all I can think about it fixing her hair. Its making it unbelievably painful
I understand how play acting was a shameful thing during this time, but at the same time these people's lives were so pathetic. Edmund is so acted up by his need to act in it. Why didn't he just leave the group?
Mrs Norris is so cruel! Blaming Fanny for everything. Julia wasn't crying because of her but because of Henry and her dearest Maria!

I've always quite liked Julia, the poor thing. More than Fanny I think, but I never like heroines. Only comic relief characters xD

The think I like about Billie's Fanny is that she has a very soft gentle voice, which is how I think Fanny's voice would be...

I don't think Edmund is spineless. I think he is too serious a young man and has a bit of growing up to do.

Mansfield Park is sooo sweet.

of all the heroine's lovers in jane austens novels edmund has got to be by far the most annoyingly spineless :)

I agree. But they do all have pretty annoying faults!

I thought Knightly was pretty good, what was his annoying fault?
