Great interview. Halsman cracks me up; he totally blew-off Joann Worley, typical for the time (Women's Liberation not totally accepted yet). I think Nimoy had/has a man-crush on Halsman, it's pretty obvious...LOL
@Navchakrapani I think that's Kaye Ballard. It's interesting that Nimoy is so focussed on the charming Mr. Halsman, because he's a real fan, but it borders on rudeness to totally ignore your other guest.
Mr. Nimoy is not being sexist; he's not that kind of guy. He's not used to being a talk show host I guess.
Such an interesting interview. I wonder if Leonard Nimoy ever did other ones -- it looks almost as if he and Kaye Ballard were regular co-hosts!
Nimoy was obviously "fascinated" with Halsman and his photographs, and has actually emulated him in some ways. I think Nimoy's "Secret Selves" might be taking up where Halsman's "Jump!" photos left off ...
If there had been a "Jump!" photo of Nimoy, I bet he would have been wearing a great big smile!
What a great interview . I was 23 years old back in 1973. I had taken a workshop course from the New School in N.Y.C. This photography workshop was with Mr. Halsman at his studio/apartment on the upper west side of N.Y. It brought back such great memories. To hear him tell these stories just made me get goose bumps. What a great experience it was for me.Thank you for posting this great memory. I can also remember his wife Yvonne serving cookies after class! She was his number 1.
Fascinating! After Star Trek Leonard Nimoy studied photography at UCLA with Robert Heineken. You can see how into Mr. Halsman he is. In some ways he's the fan-boy here.
He is a very good interviewer. He asked good open questions, he showed genuine interest in his guest's replies (unlike his ex co-star, perhaps, who always managed to bring the subject round to himself) and kept the guest in the spotlight the whole time. Oh yes, and he looked beautiful too! Thanks so much for posting this, it's unique.
where is his studio now?? like where in new york?

And to think that "A.M. New York" was an ancestor of "Live with Regis and Kelly."

For some reason, I couldn't take my eyes off that scar on Mr. Nimoy's cheek. It's just so...lovely. :-)
I love everything about that Vulcan...I mean *gives embarrassed smile* I love everything about that Man. ;-)

Oh! My! God! Thank you for uploading this. Do you know if Leonard Nimoy did more interviews of this kind?
