I have just found this and it is so good,, do you possibly email a tab for it. It's amazing, it just sounds so right, and sounds possible to play - with lots and lots of work and some help. Brilliant,
I bet I'm a lot older than you, lol, I shall give it a go, I just think it the best thing I have heard in a long time. Ha ha what is simple to you, can be really really hard for old timer like me, but I feel inspired and shall persivere. I think it's because it's (in your words) simple that it rocks so much. "If it don't swing it don't mean a thing". Thanks again for the video. By the way, it's a fantastic bass and a really good sound as well. Keep it going youngster.
OMG - Please reply! I've been scouring Youtube, and websites for a couple of hours now, and finally came across you video. I just bought a Rick that looks just like yours from a friend. It looks the same, white (turning yellow) the the black pick guard, but the serial number came back to April of 1980. Either way, what strings are you playing? Thanks in advance for your response!
@Dengia64 I picked up a set of La Bella 760FL 43/104 before I saw your reply (I couln't wait). The La Bellas are pretty close to the guages you suggested. The Ric sound is amazing, nothing like my JBass, or BTB.
Hey man your sound is fantastic. What is the difference between his and his 4001 76 4001 84? The neck is wider? The 84 weighs a lot? I know because I have a 1973 that is very light and comfortable and I'm willing to take a 4001 1982. I found that only weighs 1982 more
cool i have a hofner but i want a ric but its so expensive and i live in ottawa i saw one at a store it was a copy but it was hangin over the door way it said not for saail and i was told it was really broken so ya i dont care if its a copy i just want one thats $600 or lower
@TheBobohj Don't go for copies. Purchasing a copy (not only is it "illegal" ) means your not even getting a Ric anymore. You don't get the same sound or anything it just looks the same. Trust me just save up for one and hold out. In the end when you get it it will be worth it. Sadly, the lowest you can find them for is 1,300 USD on Ebay used. New, the lowest price you can get is 1,500 USD

claudioacidogroove, thank you very much..
..considers that both instruments weighing 4.2kg.
But I can tell you that the neck of 4001 (1984) is wider and paunchy than 1976.
They are both great basses... very similar.
Bye, Ric.
