Some people listen to covers expecting to hear the exact version that the original was. That's not the point in doing covers. Jamie does alot of covers. If you listen to jazz, which Jamie claims his genre although mixed with other genres, most songs are covers. Billie, Ella, Sarah, all sang the sams songs putting their own twist in it.

I find that the way Jamie Cullum modified the original tune is brilliant. He straightened out the verse as it were, making it slighly less melodic and, conversely, his rendition of the chorus is tauter, which makes for more contrast. U2 treat the song similarly, but I find Jamie Cullum has more bite. I also prefer the jazzy arrangement to the other versions.
