And for the record, I own my own horse, and I carry a whip, only for the purpose of mental control over my horse. I have NEVER hit him. I don't know how anyone can say there is no abuse in rodeo. The funny thing is that this has been going on since the early 1700's. I am a 3rd generation rancher, and 4th generation for competeing in rodeos. All the events that are competed in Americas #1 sport are HUMANE and NOT CRUEL TO ANIMALS. I can jump on my horse and run the barrels with no halter, bridal or saddle.. That is called an animal loving what they do... My husband can get on his horse chase a calf with out even touching the reins, the horse knows what to do and they love it.
