allen's film speaks of boredom. boredom of the writer. the ending and motivation prior is unconvincing. result is flat insult to earlier good moments. if this was the film steve coogan didnt win the audition for, then that was good fortune for steve. allen's films are formulaic gatherings of the same actors glowing proudly at having been chosen by allen. effecting result-pretension and unappetising control.

Bought this from a bargin bin. Only saw Woody Allen and yes thought it was a comedy. I had already seen "In Bruges", seemed to me Colin Farrell drew on the charactor here "Terry" for his "Ray"portrail. It was a real dramatic film that should have had more notice review-wise. Tom Wilkinson was out standing!

Underrated movie, This is actually a really good one i thought! The plot is thrilling , the actors were excellent , and the soundtrack fabulous. I enjoyed it totaly :-)

There are not many films that effect me in this way. I really get drawn into the plot and found it increasingly breathtaking! Think all actors did their part very well.

I just watched this movie. Sooooo good. By the end I didn't know what to expect. A real Greek tragedy of sorts. I wonder if this film played at any indie festivals. It should have.

I love the way there are so many people judging the film on the personal good looks of two of the protagonists in a trailer. My oh my it must be an awesome film because they are soooooo hot!

That's the best film of W. Allen. A modern tragedy similar to Oedipus, Mackbeth and Raskolnikov, full of originality proper to Allen. The concept is realy splendid- that's the film in symbolical morality.

I think this movie is highly immoral : Ewan Mcgregor and Colin Farrell are two drop-dead handsome brothers who lead a disorderly life of crime,lies,booze,gambling,etc.­..but actually you dont feel like judging them too hard because with that look and that bad boy attitude they can do whatever they want....

I'm not sure what your comment has to do with this film, but there are some pretty nasty films out there... I mean film is a very effective means for all kinds of propaganda. Take those terrible "light entertainment" films shot by the nazzi during the second world war for example. Behind the merry hooha they were racist as fuck, shot with all kinds of malicious intent...

question: what can ewan mcgregor do? he is such an unauthentic actor and anyone who has actually talked to a south londoner let alone lived there would find his and farrels accents so terrible they're actually comedic.. if this wants to be a thriller it will never grip me with those accents.. they shud be on fuckin TV with those accents...
