My wife and I gross about $50K/year, we are a family of four, we can't afford $1,000/mo for insurance, esp. when the insurers constantly lie and reject claims, they hold up the process on purpose to make more money, BECAUSE THEY CAN! So, we have no health insurance, and my son and younger brother are on Medicaid Plan D, which we end up paying for many things out of pocket anyway, Plan D does not cover durable medical equp. we need for my son's legs. I don't mind paying but it has to be fair.
Sorry, my mistake, the surcharge that HOSPITALS bill good insurance subscribers, like Blue Cross & Blue Shield, those surcharges are supposed to offset the financial loss a hospital takes when non-insured patients can't pay their bills, Charity Care is paid for by taxpayers because the states set aside money for that, they budget "How many ppl will walk into ER's this year." I live in a small city of 115,000.... in California. I'm not sure about you. My mother is self-employed and 50, makes around 35K and pays 350 for no-deductible insurance through Kaiser. How many people is that 1200 supposed to cover?

I paid thousands of dollars to Blue Cross for years but got fed-up with "the Insurance Company Guy" coming between me & my doctor.
So as a Veteran I went to VA.
It's been like night & day.
Now, if my doctor thinks I need a test, or even if I think I need a tests - it's done in a matter of days & no one has to argue with "the Insurance Company Guy" for weeks.
I once worked for the VA and had many patients like yourself. It was my honor to provide top-flight service. The VA is smeared by anti-American types but like you said, if a patient needed something, they got it. Love our vets!

Not all public schools are "excellent" but they guarantee a minimal level of education for everyone who wants an education. If I had the option to go to a private school, I would. But, I don't have that option. And if there were no public schools, I'd be illiterate.

That's about what I expect from obamacare, not to mention having the government telling you to come in every week for tests and checkups. My grandfather is a veteran and he does get good care, but he has to go at least once a month and go through whatever they tell him, or he's not eligible. He was perfectly healthy before, but almost died once after from medication error. My wife and I gross about $50K/year, we are a family of four, we can't afford $1,000/mo for insurance, esp. when the insurers constantly lie and reject claims, they hold up the process on purpose to make more money, BECAUSE THEY CAN! So, we have no health insurance, and my son and younger brother are on Medicaid Plan D, which we end up paying for many things out of pocket anyway, Plan D does not cover durable medical equp. we need for my son's legs. I don't mind paying but it has to be fair.

Sorry, my mistake, the surcharge that HOSPITALS bill good insurance subscribers, like Blue Cross & Blue Shield, those surcharges are supposed to offset the financial loss a hospital takes when non-insured patients can't pay their bills, Charity Care is paid for by taxpayers because the states set aside money for that, they budget "How many ppl will walk into ER's this year." I asked her to repeat it, she said again, $8,000/mo just for premium, I just hung up the phone at that point.

So as a Veteran I went to VA.
It's been like night & day.
Now, if my doctor thinks I need a test, or even if I think I need a tests - it's done in a matter of days & no one has to argue with "the Insurance Company Guy" for weeks.

The whole "progressive" agenda was to create the fear over our healthcare system just like Bush did with 9/11.

Without a strong public option, Blue Cross will just keep jacking rates until it costs 25-30 grand a year for crappy insurance which no one can afford.

Imagine our socialistic education system without a public option? No public schools? And if you can't afford to send your kids to Harvard, you get a fine. Right!! No public option guarantees insurance company profits, but how will that benefit the healthcare system? Profits are not sacred! I might buy insurance if I could afford it. And I what the OPTION not to participate. My current insurance policy in the event of catistrophic illness is a bullet in the head, same as my retirement plan.

Progress? We're nearly $14 trillion in debt, invovled in two wars, and have an economy continuing to spin downwards.
The problem with this "progress" is that will only help one generation (at best). It will fail like medicare, medicad, and social security.
End the wars, remove the lobbyists, and regain control of goverment and maybe then we can pay off our debt to fix the healthcare problem in the future.

The only reason Medicare is in debt is because Part D, enacted by the Bush Administration and a Republican Congress, does NOT give Medicare the ability to negotiate for lower prices, it simply pays whatever the corporations ask. That is why a bottle of pills that costs 5 cents in London costs $120 dollars here. And it's never going to get any better, not for you or your children's children, because you idiots on the right had your tea parties and demanded that the corporations get their way.

China actually controls it's spending. As a nation we became imperialistic and involved in the Cold War. If we weren't so busy running around the word fighting with whoever disagrees with us, propping up regimes, giving countries foreign aid to be out friends, or propping up a welfare state.

We can't afford this, we are broke. This is going to cost me about 3 times what my current health insurance costs. This is just an unprecedented grab for power and money. Handing over control of 20% of our economy to the government is a terrible idea. Cap and trade is just another way to raise taxes too. Our economy can't support all these new taxes.

That's about what I expect from obamacare, not to mention having the government telling you to come in every week for tests and checkups. My grandfather is a veteran and he does get good care, but he has to go at least once a month and go through whatever they tell him, or he's not eligible. He was perfectly healthy before, but almost died once after from medication error. The thing that gets me with this is that almost no one has read the bill and it seems like that's the way obama wants it.

They created more debts than profits for average individuals, more crooked executives more than doctors and kind hearted nurses, more untrackable investments cover ups than simple banking and savings. If Wall St. is affordable, why not a universal health care system. If you truly believe that the current recession was caused by banks lending money to poor people, again you dont know the facts. I suggest reading about the Graham Leach Act and its repeal of the Glass Stegall Act, the point in time when banks stopped being banks but became investment companies.
