I did this procedure to a Nostalgia Electronics red 'retrowave' just now and merely cut the lead and bent it up and no beeps anymore :) The speaker in this retrowave looks almost identical to the one in your video, black case with a tiny little pinhole in one side and a gold ring on the other. In the retrowave it's mounted sticking out of a board that's on the other side of the front upper right, didn't have to remove anything but the cover.
my microwave is Kenmore & the beeper was a round, flat black plastic
thing on the circuit board and I snipped 1 wire with scissors after
pried the wire up with a small screwdriver. total quiet now but
you must watch the display for your pad strokes to make sure they enter as there's no beep; thankfully. it was waking people up in the other apartment.
@Serostern Your solution is fine for quieting the piezoelectric transducer, and your point is well taken, but that will not fully silence it. But again, it will indeed quiet it very well and it's reversible,
the manual can be found with a simple google search of the brand and model name.
For micowaving silent bliss, just hold down the 1 key for 4 seconds. Breathe a sight of relief and stew in the moment rejoicing, now that your microwave is as God intended it (nearly) silent.

DIG IT OUT!?
Removing the C/B?
OVERKILL.
Just pop the case, short the cap, and put a piece of scotch over the hole in the piezomic and poof! Profit!
And it can be quickly removed, so you still have your warranty.

@MicrowaveDisplaycom The real problem is that I have seen microwaves with indicator lights in SERIES with the damn piezo =P

Thank you! do you know if this will disable the sounds that are made when I press the keys? Or do you know how to disable those sounds also?
AuntFlo81 1 year ago
@AuntFlo81 Yes, this will disable the sounds that are made when I press the keys.
But it's always best to check your manual first to see if it can be turned off.
If you don't have your manual, reply with your full model number so we can look it up and possibly point you to it.

@MicrowaveDisplaycom Thanks for replying! I use an Ewave EW6f6w. I don't have the manual because it came with the apartment I'm renting.
It was made by MC Appliance Corp., in April 2004.
It has an extremely simple display, just numbers, clock, and three programmed settings (pizza, etc.)

@AuntFlo81 You know, I just tried to find the manual, and it's no longer posted (at e-daewoo's site). :(

@AuntFlo81 I have it here: microwavedisplay . com/ew6f6w.pdf
(remove the spaces in the dot com part)

@AuntFlo81 The manual does not mention a way to reduce or eliminate the beeping, so it would have to be done on the circuit board.
