@harlanmiller It was a really common thing. My local grocery stores all carried videos until about three years ago, around when video rental stores started closing en masse. I'm guessing Redbox and the like just took all the business away from more traditional video sources.
I cried. I miss the 90s. I wish there was a way to go back in time. I missed the Atmosphere, feeling and everything. But now im stuck with all this bullcrap that aren't quite lovely to be cope with.
I get a real kick out of the fact that the composers of this song are the same people who composed "Somewhere Out There". It's a good song, but personally, I think it would have been more appropriate to have put it in the end credits, like many other movies.
I love this movie. it's just an amazing movie. I also love this song. There shouldn't be an age limit to some movies. some movies are timeless, and when you watch movies like this one, it takes you back to a happier time.
Randomly watched this film one day and now its one of my favourite childhood movies, its just so imaginitive and thats what i love about it and i love the song
I came to uni 3 weeks ago, me and one of my flatmates both realised we loved this film and hadn't seen it since our childhood, i ordered it drunkenly one night and its taken 2 weeks to come. @naynay7387 there's something Ironic about loving Books because of a movie... but it's true. It brought the magic of books to life and showed kids how to use your imagination.

Favorite childhood movie of all time. This movie always makes me want to keep being a kid at heart. The world looks so much better from that perspective. The Pagemaster keeps that inner kid alive.
@Jurk5000 - Pretty much agree. The great thing is is trying to see through kid's eyes and having a mature heart/personality about it. That is the key :) Not to act like a kid (or at least immature) but to see the world as you did long ago. I can see how I took this movie to heart as a kid and saw so much more and was just carefree. Kind of random but I also see a moral in this movie about being able to read and taken to their worlds. Awesome stuff. Not something that a lot of shows have today.
I hate whenever I watch this movie people ask, "Why are you watching this movie? How old are you?" There is never an age limit on the things that have made your childhood special o matter how old you get
The cgi will never live up to today's work. The animation will never live up to today's work and yet, that's what made it such a classic. Movie of my childhood :)
i watched this as a kid almost every day through my childhood. that's the memories i cherish and the movies i adored. these days kids watch tv shows that i would not even WANTED to see as a child. the thought of it getting worse in the next generation scares me.
Such a beautiful song, taught me to never give up on my dream and to push yourself to your limits! Love this film to bits, Thankyou Pagemaster, for helping me get through childhood!!
Fuck Nostalgia Critic, his Kickassia movie sucked balls, and he says this movie sucked? I used to love this when they aired it on TV when I was younger.
I don't see why this got such terrible reviews, it was well animated, an interesting story, a good lesson and morals, I thought it was really and even looking back as an adult, it's still a beast movie and somethng like this is what we need if we really want children to be into books or family or, y'know important things, unlike other movies stories telling us true love(which translates to sex)is the most important thing and to give into whatever the media tells us to. *goes to rewatch film*
I LOVED WHEN MOVIES IN THE 90s had these songs in their soundtracks! There was always just one song that summed up the movie quite well! Sadly, the only film in this generation to put a song like those inspirational ones like this and other disney movies was Avatar..."I see you"
