  • It was at one of those Katrina benifits in '05 . I remember him wearing that Jazz Fest hat and playing the song solo. He recorded the song in New Orleans , produced by Allen Toussaint in the 70's for the album There Goes Rhymin' Simon. He was recording during Carnival and was inspired to write this song.

  • The lyric is actually Where the dancing is elite and there's music in the street.but thats ok he does this change alot in his songs like in the concert in central park with art garfunkel they sang"kodachrome"and the lyric is usally everything looks worse in black and white but they said everything looks better .I heard that they are hidden easter eggs that spell out something about his life or a secret song,probably not thats just rumor

  • TheDavidgodsell: The original didn't have the Dixie Hummingbirds. It was The Reverend Gary Jeter. One of the finest falsettos in gospel music. The hummingbirds were on the album. But only on Loves Me Like A Rock.
