@MALDITTOROKKERO My father has been going through the temple since the late 1960s and he says the ceremonies haven't changed much except for little details, they've never had any saying you're gonna die if you tell people about what goes on in there or you have to kill yourself if you do and Satan was never buddies with Peter James and John. This guy who is doing the video seems to vaguely remember his experience going through the temple and is making up stuff probably because he got his hurt.

I'm a convert to the LDS church and there is nothing "secret" about the temple ceremonies or anything like that. It's SACRED, not secret, and when you take these things out of context or don't understand the gospel doctrines of the church, etc. of course it is going to sound wacky and like a cult. But I assure you the LDS church is NOT a cult. I took the time to learn answers to my questions about the church.

But the temples are amazing - the church has solidifed its validity through it's material success. I think if you're not a "misfit" - ie single, gay, etc - it's a Disneyland religion with castles and everything, but you have to take a real leap of faith and once you've done that, you've got fun family times and "completion of the Gospel" which inspires a fervant devotion not unlike others in the protestant Christian community. The Mormon Tabernacle Choir is icing on the cake.
They changed the washing and anointing ceremony as well . A woman convert to the church freaked out during the wash and anointing ceremony. She charged the church with sexual misconduct. That night the temple workers sewed up the sides of the "modesty covers" and Gods "restored perfect gospel" was again changed . The church does not actually tell members to turn on anyone leaving their numbers, BUT they DO it anyways. I speak from experience where my local bishopric has lied to me and about me to cover up the wrong they do and encourages my own children to shun me and block my facebook so they can "secretly" "counsel" them on the internet. I was a Mormon once. I left because of the insane beliefs. I went on the tour at the Visitor Center in West Los Angeles Temple. In the hallway, there was a painting of what looked like a chessboard with two stems on the side that curved up and ended with a ball on the end of each stem. I asked the tour guide what it was. She told me Joseph Smith placed the golden plates on the board. By positioning his head in between the two stems, he could read the gold plates. Thats whacky.

I'm seeing a shift when public announcements are made from obedience to the church towards a more Christian sounding doctrine. Within the church, obedience, works and law is manditory to live with God. @MALDITTOROKKERO My father has been going through the temple since the late 1960s and he says the ceremonies haven't changed much except for little details, they've never had any saying you're gonna die if you tell people about what goes on in there or you have to kill yourself if you do and Satan was never buddies with Peter James and John. This guy who is doing the video seems to vaguely remember his experience going through the temple and is making up stuff probably because he got his hurt.

It's SACRED, not secret, and when you take these things out of context or don't understand the gospel doctrines of the church, etc. of course it is going to sound wacky and like a cult. But the temples are amazing - the church has solidifed its validity through it's material success. I think if you're not a "misfit" - ie single, gay, etc - it's a Disneyland religion with castles and everything, but you have to take a real leap of faith and once you've done that, you've got fun family times and "completion of the Gospel" which inspires a fervant devotion not unlike others in the protestant Christian community. The Mormon Tabernacle Choir is icing on the cake.

They changed the washing and anointing ceremony as well . A woman convert to the church freaked out during the wash and anointing ceremony. She charged the church with sexual misconduct. That night the temple workers sewed up the sides of the "modesty covers" and Gods "restored perfect gospel" was again changed . The church does not actually tell members to turn on anyone leaving their numbers, BUT they DO it anyways. I speak from experience where my local bishopric has lied to me and about me to cover up the wrong they do and encourages my own children to shun me and block my facebook so they can "secretly" "counsel" them on the internet. The church leaders now use the internet to "chasten" and brainwash their youth members!

When Christ performed miracles or when sacred events took place like on the Mount of Transfiguration, Christ continually told his Apostles and Saints not to tell anyone about it. I was a Mormon once. I left because of the insane beliefs. I went on the tour at the Visitor Center in West Los Angeles Temple. In the hallway, there was a painting of what looked like a chessboard with two stems on the side that curved up and ended with a ball on the end of each stem. I asked the tour guide what it was. She told me Joseph Smith placed the golden plates on the board. By positioning his head in between the two stems, he could read the gold plates. Thats whacky.

I'm seeing a shift when public announcements are made from obedience to the church towards a more Christian sounding doctrine. Within the church, obedience, works and law is manditory to live with God. The Biblcal truth is, "if you live by the law and fail to keep 1 commandment, you have broken all of the law and will be judged accordingly"
