Voting is far from private and confidential in Sweden. Voters have to take a slip of paper with the name of the party for which they wish to vote out in the open. They then put this paper into an envelope behind a small green partition but everyone has already seen which party the voter has chosen. Quite often, people stand conspicuously in front of these voting slips to watch which party voters chose. Mant voters feel intimidated by this lack of personal privacy in the Swedish system.
