Publicize the banks is a great idea.

I came from where people have choice of public or private banks. Big majority of people had public bank account then have a private bank account if they offer something public bank doesn't offer.

Public bank has big advantages. It's safe, backed by the gov. It can run on smaller costs, no CEO profit, the offices can run in smallest space and many more locations than privates, no ad. cost.

Privates should be limited to investment only and let them pay the loss
