  • Remedey are the remnants of Future Crew?:

    /watch?v=54XHDUOHuzU&hd=1

  • Still love the end credits music! Anyone know what it is?

  • I think todays minesweeper has higher system requirements than this benchmark.

  • Wow!! The first benchmark i ever used!! Tested my voodoo2 12MB for countless times!!! Always loved the music!!!

  • Did anyone else notice that the metallic objects in the dome in the city scene are actually the raw polygonal tree models from the Second Reality Demo?

  • Uhh yea, what's the story with Max Payne and this demo?

  • @edwlee78 Remedy developed both this benchmark and Max Payne.

  • my alltime favourite ! best benchmark ever!!!! too bad this video got low quality, low pc resolution and slow pc.

  • @budojon If i find the benchmark i will post a video in high quality.

  • How long did they work on Max Payne?! 4 years ??? 0_o

  • @EJ205T They announced it in 1997 and released it in 2001.

  • It ran great on my Pentium-100mhz in 1997 :)))

  • where can you download tis now

  • Not sure. If I have the time I'll see if I can find the file and post it. It's only about 10MB or less.

  • I still have this benchmark if anyone needs it just send me a message over youtube and i will see about getting a copy to you, regards Richard p.s i like the bit with the robots in the bsp map render.

  • @fayik123 If you want, I have the original benchmark files. Sure they won't mind a little copy since it's actually a benchmark. :)

  • can you get this anywhere as it taken down of the website now.

  • Cool cityscape scene with the Max Payne billboards, plus a remix of the Second Reality music. MP must have only been in the concept stages at the point.

  • Did you manage to get it to work under windows xp - maybe in compatibility mode? In that case i would try to capture it with a higher frame count. This benchmark was really stunning at its time!! Remedy and Max Payne ftw! :)

  • Beautiful stuff indeed, thanks for sharing. But why the low frame rate? I know Fraps puts some load on the system and thus decreases performance but I recentely tried this my good ol' Voodoo Banshee-driven Pentium Pro bucket clocked at 200 Mhz and... I gotta say it did a fair amount better than this :P

  • The version of Fraps I used only allowed uncompressed video capture, and unfortunately my HD isn't fast enough to capture the benchmark running at full speed.

  • Amazing. Thanks for the memories.

I remember my first time when it switched to texture+environment mapping my jaw hit the floor.
