O stop it Monsieur Herzog! All of your movies with Monsieur Kinski turn out to be nothing more than a pagan idolatry for him! In Aguirre, in Nosferatu, Fitzgeraldo or in this one Kinski is always that blonde beast, the natural leader, who everyone adores, who gets all the girls and is cynical and distant to his vicinity; and this movie is the worst: The character of Kinski is almost close to parody and the movie so obsessed with him that the story does not really matter...
You mother fucker! How can you expel such garbage! Clearly the nuances of Herzogs genius are lost on you, you infantile neophyte. Do us all a favour, crawl back to the cinematic primordial ooze that you came from and go watch some films by Steven Segal or Polly shore. Maybe when you develop opposable thumbs and the ability to use simple tools then you can truly understand what real cinema is.
@etherhuffer666: For the insult I will call you a knave; a rascal; an eater of broken meats; a base, proud, shallow, beggarly, three-suited, hundred-pound, filthy, worsted-stocking knave; a lily-livered, action-taking knave, a whoreson, glass-gazing, super-serviceable finical rogue; one-trunk-inheriting slave; one that wouldst be a bawd, in way of good service, and art nothing but the composition of a knave, beggar, coward, pandar, and the son and heir of a mongrel bitch:
@etherhuffer666: one whom I will beat into clamorous whining, if thou deniest the least syllable of thy addition.
- so much for that and spare me the advice as I do only lurk here for anything from Akira Kurosawa and do not wish to be annoyed by movie git like your self!
@etherhuffer666: You cowardly rascal, nature disclaims in thee: A tailor made thee. Ay, a tailor: A stone-cutter or painter could not have made you so ill, though he had been but two hours at the trade!
@etherhuffer666: You don't frighten me, Algerian pig-dog! Go and boil your bottom, son of a silly person. I blow my nose at you, you and all your silly Algerian morons. I don't wanna talk to you no more, you empty headed animal food trough wiper! I fart in your general direction! Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries! Now go away or I shall taunt you a second time-a!
@etherhuffer666: Here? Mostly because you did claim to be from Algeria; but in general because of their being foul minions of the vile Camel Merchant Cult, my chief enemy in the world; whose foul disgrace and utter ruin I desire and work for; and if the doom of Oswald Spengler applies to this nice little crisis of global economy; I will soon be free of my post-modern boredom; I may quote:
"The present-day war with economic weapons (which may later be accounted a second world war) produced wholly new forms in the Bolshevik economic offensive expressed in the Five Year Plan; the attack by dollars and francs on the pound sterling; the inflations engineered by foreign exchanges which destroyed the whole contents of national exchequers; autarchy of economic systems which may be carried to the extent of wiping out exports from the opposing powers and therewith the whole economic ...
... system and the means of existence for great nations; and the Dawes and Young plans, which represent the attempts of financial groups to force whole states to do forced labour for the banks. What it really amounts to is that the life of ones own nation has to be gained at the cost of destroying that of others. It is the struggle on the keel of the overturned boat. And when all other means are exhausted, then the oldest and most primitive, the military means, will come into their own again...
... The more strongly armed power will force the weaker one to give up its economic defensive, capitulate, and disappear, Cannon are in the last resort stronger than coal. There is not telling how this economic war will end, but it is certain that it will finally restore to the State as authority its historical rights, based on voluntary, and therefore reliable, thoroughly trained, and highly mobile armies and will push back economics to the second place, where they belong."
The great irony of the film is that the tragic end of the main character is brought on by his inability to understand that the offer of blood brother was his reward. It was his sense of alienation and reliance on material standards of power, rather than loving his sixty-two children and women that destroyed him.
Majestic!

And Oswald Spengler is indeed my other self, my counsel's consistory, my oracle, my prophet and I, like a child, will go by his direction.
