i will say atm women divison is great tag team divison is great tna giving there own robert roode a run as tna world champion is good. having crimson have over 1 year undefeated streak have him and morgan as tna tag champions. they have great young talent women wrestlers and young wwe tag team and single wrestlers. i wish tna would just let flair and hogan go leave tna. hogan and flair are waste of money and time. they were top draws in wwf and old wcw but in 2012 they are not draws.

TNA relies too much on wrestlers who were big in other companies - Sting, Angle, Hogan, Flair, Foley, Nash, the Hardyz and the Dudleys and so on. They didn't create enough unique characters of their own and then became an old boys club where 50 year old guys like Sting were top dog and that's not progress
@ChildOfTheWilderness I have to agree with you there. TNA has been hurt by bringing in all these former WWE guys in particular. They should've stuck with promoting guys like AJ Styles, Samoa Joe & Beer Money and I can't for the life of me figure out why they haven't done more with Abyss & Matt Morgan. Instead when they bring in guys like the Hardyz, RVD & Angle they became the WWE's bone yard of has beens & trouble makers or guys who couldn't cut the mustard in "the big leagues".

@KidDupree16 TNA's biggest mistake is the fans want "Attitude" and the WWE aint giving it to them yet TNA doesn't capitalize on that. TNA should be the place to go if your sick of John Cena and "Little Jimmy" and untalented super models who think they are wrestlers etc. yet it isn't. It's good to bring in SOME big name talent from WWE and some old WCW throw backs but if they rely on that to much there is no origionality to it. They need to build their own stars that are origional to TNA.
@BradNC11175 This is apart of it but TNA relies on people like Sting and AJ Styles who are very Christian. And they are pretty racy already with girls shaking their ass in the camera WEEKLY. They just don't have the youthful, rebellious nature Stone Cold, The Rock, DX and NWO had.
@LTopomcFly Sting & AJ Styles are two of the best things TNA has going for them as best I can see it. Sting has been far more interesting in that GM spot than Hogan ever was (as the GM) and is damned sure an improvement over John (Boring Ass) Laurenitis on RAW. I think TNA has been learning from some of it's mistakes recently and it is improving. I like the direction they've gone in with Bobby Rood. I agree with you on the Knockouts but as wrestlers they are way better than the Divas of WWE.
@BradNC11175 I have nothing against their beliefs, but I think that is a big reason TNA isn't more mature. A big part of Sting never going to WWF was how racy it was back then. and Bobby Rood is the best heavyweight they have.
@LTopomcFly The same thing is true about Bill Goldberg. Some claim he never had a love for wrestling and was just there to make some money. I don't know how true that is but he has stated more than once he didn't like the "racy hostile to family" kind of content especially in the WWE even though by the end WCW was worse. I think part of TNA's problem is what was a problem in WCW: their creative team has the attention span of a gnat. Rood, Storm, Styles, Abyss & Morgan are all good/great talents.
@BradNC11175 They've been doing that for a while now, both Roode and Storm are probably the most pushed people on the show and Kaz, Daniels, and AJ are all in a fued right now. I really don't see why people still have a problem with Impact ever since Pritchard took over creative. They even fired Vince Russo for fucks sake.
@GoldStandardPunk66 Wrestling fans can be rather impatient and good story lines/charicters don't develop over night. I do believe TNA is improving from what it's been over the past year or so but again it's not going to happen over night. I think one of the smartest things they've done is to put Sting in that GM spot and that feud between Sting & Rood may be one of the best things done in years in pro wrestling before it's all over. They brought back the Joker Sting last night, good move.
@BradNC11175 Yeah, both Sting and Roode are fantastic on the mic and work off eachother. Even though I'm not thrilled that Sting will be getting back in the ring, I think Roode will be able to carry Sting to atleast a decent match. Lockdown is shaping up to be great though. On to the impatience thing, you are 100% correct. These people do not realize that TNA needs to rebuild from Russo's jackassery over the last couple of years. They've already rebuilt Joe, Magnus, and Morgan.
@GoldStandardPunk66 I've never really been a fan of Sting but have always appreciated his ability. I don't think he needs anyone to carry him in a match. If it were Hogan or Flair (at this stage in their careers) I would agree with you though but thank God it's not Flair or Hogan. Sting may be comming near the end of his in ring career but he still has a few good matches in him. Russo is gone from TNA and add that with John Laurenitis's boring ass dragging down WWE, TNA might get somewhere.

@GoldStandardPunk66 I think part of TNA's problem has been consistancy in the story lines, or lack there of. This is the same thing that happened to WCW towards the end. It's like "Let's go attitude this week" and then a week later its like "nah lets go PG". They flip flop to much and it leads you to wonder just where the hell they are going. About the time they seem to get you engaged with some story line they'll scrap it and do something else. Maybe that'll change with Russo gone, I hope so.

I havent watched wrestling since like 05 and im tryin to get back into it and wwe is pretty bad nowadays i cant even watch it. TNA on the other hand is just sad. I put it on a couple times and i see Mr Kennedy dressed up as old sting and sting acting like the fuckin joker WTF. Low budget as hell doesnt even look like they wanna be taken seriously. @SOULECKZ Well, I haven't really seen any improvement of the product. When WCW was around, they gave WWE competition. ROH and TNA haven't done that and TNA has blown several chances to be that competitor.

@SOULECKZ The Time/Warner deal was the death kneel of WCW for sure! But WCW was already in trouble financially and the programming was sucking. And this isn't no "stupid mark" talking as I actually watched the "Monday Night Wars" as it was going on.
As I said, the Time/Warner deal just put WCW out of its misery. It was already on life support before that.

When they died off and was bought out by WWE, the business has been all the worse for it. @MrGriffiev As for WWE being around for over 50 years, well that's not really an excuse because WCW was only officially around since the end of 1990 (up until that point, the organization was a branch of the NWA). Yet by 1996, they gave WWE a run for its money and even dominated them in the ratings for nearly two years and it was still a threat up until late '99-late 2000 so it can be done and I hope it happens again because WWE was at its best when it had a competitor.

@hambalony2012 Back in 2000 i forget which arena it was back in Chi but WCW had a nitro in chicago and had to tarp the crowd off because a lot of people didn't show. However ECW did a show in the same spot and sold out completely. Not to mention by the time ECW went belly up they still had tons of fans.
@hambalony2012 It was fine a long time ago but if TNA wanted to put themselves out as this "Cutting Edge" product, they'd do things differently. Why open another burger joint to compete with McDonald's instead of opening a chicken restaurant? WWE has been selling the same hamburgers for many years and TNA should be looking to sell chicken.
hes tottally right, i've said it time and time again and the TNA marks argued with me, the story lines are so unrealisticly qiuk paced and illogical it comes off poorely put together, they need to take the good moments and slow them down and emphasise them, i also think they need more long term storylines with with huge twists at the end, much like the 'THEY' storyline was.
@hambalony2012 They didn't but it's been the standard issue ring for all of pro-wrestling. When promotions like AAA and TNA started using a 6-sided ring, it was unique because he's more sides to work with and as far as how matches go, there's more room to work with and less of a chance of someone getting suplexed into the ropes or hitting the outer edge of the ring which is the hardest part of a wrestling ring.
Foley has made a few good points...plus TNA should have never gotten rid of the six-sided ring...WWE's always going to have a 4-sided ring so why be like them or attempt to be?
Also, TNA has one thing over WWE and that's backstage segments...They all look like we're not supposed to see them as opposed to WWE where it's more staged because everyone is in plain view.

Having actually bothered to listen to what Mick had to say, the guy's got a few good points.
For my money, TNA should focus on their own programming, their own storytelling, and only bring in guys that could be of use over the long term. Not going to name names here, but several of their hires were just for the sake of getting WWE fans to say "hey, I remember that guy", and that effect tends to wear off pretty quickly if you're not doing something interesting with those talents.
Foley is 100% right. One of their major problems is that their characters are not connectable with the fans. The IWC can worship great technical skill all day but when it comes to a new audience, it will only get you so far. You have to have 'Entertainment'. Guys like Robert Roode and James Storm are dry. Also, speaking of the kids, it wouldn't hurt TNA to start toning down the violence and blood and market towards kids. Also, it wouldn't hurt to lose those horrible 'reality' backstage segements

The United States is the only place I've seen where wrestling promotions view each other as strictly "COMPETITION". In Japan and Mexico, promotions view each other as friendly rivals: obviously they always try to upstage each other and put on the best shows, but they also understand the value in collaborating with each other and putting their talent together for their "supercard" shows which benefit all parties involved. I just wish American promotions would get over their pettiness.
TNA shouldnt try to compete with WWE - In my opinion TNA lost it when the abandoned the 6 sided ring, they need to go back to how they used to be! - Although WWE will always be what it is, TNA was something different, but now its has crossed the line and started rolling down hill :/

Mick Foley has a point. TNA tries to compete against a company that has been around for a long time and has had generations of fan growing up with that company and there wrestlers. WWE has a far more superior story arc and invests in it's talent. TNA even though they do have talent in their roster they have no idea on how to promote them, they rely on the older wrestlers like Sting, hogan, Angle and Bischoff to carry the show and try and push a promo. @mhrfg Exactly...last i looked in last decade WWE eliminated the entire WCW audience & decreased it ratings for RAW from 5.0's to 2.8's & Smackdown ratings from 4.0's to 2.0's meanwhile TNA increased it's audience from 10 thousand during weekly PPVs to aprox 2 million domestically plus being broadcast in further 100+ countires.
WWE has biggest infulence of business, they represent the business which is why people have turned off. WWE has made LESS not MORE people interested in wrestling.

i will say atm women divison is great tag team divison is great tna giving there own robert roode a run as tna world champion is good. having crimson have over 1 year undefeated streak have him and morgan as tna tag champions. they have great young talent women wrestlers and young wwe tag team and single wrestlers. i wish tna would just let flair and hogan go leave tna. hogan and flair are waste of money and time. they were top draws in wwf and old wcw but in 2012 they are not draws.

TNA relies too much on wrestlers who were big in other companies - Sting, Angle, Hogan, Flair, Foley, Nash, the Hardyz and the Dudleys and so on. They didn't create enough unique characters of their own and then became an old boys club where 50 year old guys like Sting were top dog and that's not progress

They should've stuck with promoting guys like AJ Styles, Samoa Joe & Beer Money and I can't for the life of me figure out why they haven't done more with Abyss & Matt Morgan. Instead when they bring in guys like the Hardyz, RVD & Angle they became the WWE's bone yard of has beens & trouble makers or guys who couldn't cut the mustard in "the big leagues".

@KidDupree16 TNA's biggest mistake is the fans want "Attitude" and the WWE aint giving it to them yet TNA doesn't capitalize on that. TNA should be the place to go if your sick of John Cena and "Little Jimmy" and untalented super models who think they are wrestlers etc. yet it isn't. It's good to bring in SOME big name talent from WWE and some old WCW throw backs but if they rely on that to much there is no origionality to it. They need to build their own stars that are origional to TNA.

@LTopomcFly Sting & AJ Styles are two of the best things TNA has going for them as best I can see it. Sting has been far more interesting in that GM spot than Hogan ever was (as the GM) and is damned sure an improvement over John (Boring Ass) Laurenitis on RAW. I think TNA has been learning from some of it's mistakes recently and it is improving. I like the direction they've gone in with Bobby Rood. I agree with you on the Knockouts but as wrestlers they are way better than the Divas of WWE.

@LTopomcFly The same thing is true about Bill Goldberg. Some claim he never had a love for wrestling and was just there to make some money. I don't know how true that is but he has stated more than once he didn't like the "racy hostile to family" kind of content especially in the WWE even though by the end WCW was worse. I think part of TNA's problem is what was a problem in WCW: their creative team has the attention span of a gnat. Rood, Storm, Styles, Abyss & Morgan are all good/great talents.

I do believe TNA is improving from what it's been over the past year or so but again it's not going to happen over night. I think one of the smartest things they've done is to put Sting in that GM spot and that feud between Sting & Rood may be one of the best things done in years in pro wrestling before it's all over. They brought back the Joker Sting last night, good move.

Even though I'm not thrilled that Sting will be getting back in the ring, I think Roode will be able to carry Sting to atleast a decent match. Lockdown is shaping up to be great though. If it were Hogan or Flair (at this stage in their careers) I would agree with you though but thank God it's not Flair or Hogan. Russo is gone from TNA and add that with John Laurenitis's boring ass dragging down WWE, TNA might get somewhere.

It's like "Let's go attitude this week" and then a week later its like "nah lets go PG". They flip flop to much and it leads you to wonder just where the hell they are going. About the time they seem to get you engaged with some story line they'll scrap it and do something else. Maybe that'll change with Russo gone, I hope so.

And you can mock me saying that TNA and ROH aren't in the same league as WWE all you want and I will admit, WWE in recent years has sucked (save a few moments). But when you ask about wrestling to the average person, most will say WWE. Say TNA and ROH and they will be like "who?"

As I said, the Time/Warner deal just put WCW out of its misery. It was already on life support before that.

@MrGriffiev As for WWE being around for over 50 years, well that's not really an excuse because WCW was only officially around since the end of 1990 (up until that point, the organization was a branch of the NWA). Yet by 1996, they gave WWE a run for its money and even dominated them in the ratings for nearly two years and it was still a threat up until late '99-late 2000 so it can be done and I hope it happens again because WWE was at its best when it had a competitor.

However ECW did a show in the same spot and sold out completely. Not to mention by the time ECW went belly up they still had tons of fans.

When promotions like AAA and TNA started using a 6-sided ring, it was unique because he's more sides to work with and as far as how matches go, there's more room to work with and less of a chance of someone getting suplexed into the ropes or hitting the outer edge of the ring which is the hardest part of a wrestling ring.

Having actually bothered to listen to what Mick had to say, the guy's got a few good points.
For my money, TNA should focus on their own programming, their own storytelling, and only bring in guys that could be of use over the long term. Not going to name names here, but several of their hires were just for the sake of getting WWE fans to say "hey, I remember that guy", and that effect tends to wear off pretty quickly if you're not doing something interesting with those talents.

Foley is 100% right. One of their major problems is that their characters are not connectable with the fans. The IWC can worship great technical skill all day but when it comes to a new audience, it will only get you so far. You have to have 'Entertainment'. Guys like Robert Roode and James Storm are dry. Also, speaking of the kids, it wouldn't hurt TNA to start toning down the violence and blood and market towards kids. Also, it wouldn't hurt to lose those horrible 'reality' backstage segements

The United States is the only place I've seen where wrestling promotions view each other as strictly "COMPETITION". In Japan and Mexico, promotions view each other as friendly rivals: obviously they always try to upstage each other and put on the best shows, but they also understand the value in collaborating with each other and putting their talent together for their "supercard" shows which benefit all parties involved. I just wish American promotions would get over their pettiness.

Mick Foley has a point. TNA tries to compete against a company that has been around for a long time and has had generations of fan growing up with that company and there wrestlers. WWE has a far more superior story arc and invests in it's talent. TNA even though they do have talent in their roster they have no idea on how to promote them, they rely on the older wrestlers like Sting, hogan, Angle and Bischoff to carry the show and try and push a promo. @mhrfg Exactly...last i looked in last decade WWE eliminated the entire WCW audience & decreased it ratings for RAW from 5.0's to 2.8's & Smackdown ratings from 4.0's to 2.0's meanwhile TNA increased it's audience from 10 thousand during weekly PPVs to aprox 2 million domestically plus being broadcast in further 100+ countires.
WWE has biggest infulence of business, they represent the business which is why people have turned off. WWE has made LESS not MORE people interested in wrestling.

As for the growth of TNA, i think that's one aspect about TNA that cant be argued on, They have only been around since 2002 and have deffinatly grown in that time. However i do believe they could have been a bigger threat to WWE if they had not made so many questionable decisions over the years
