  • Hey Retro! beim stöbern daruf gestossen und für extrem Gut befunden! Du hast es absolut drauf ..na ja und die Geräte ! GG !

  • Geil, geil, einfach geil!

  • The Odyssey was also used for the lead sound in the Doctor Who theme in the early 80s. There's a video on youtube with Peter Howell demonstrating it.

  • FASTHONORIO

DM used a Roland System 700 to get that bass line on Enjoy The Silence. I met Flood recently and he confirmed it. Apparently it was that bass that gave the track its direction. Btw I've gotta get me an Odyssey!!

  • retro future

  • my dad used to play around with this awesome synth until it power supply started to act up :C

  • Wow ... you really have the Odyssey doing a LOT of different sounds here. Good job

  • I'd kill for a pair of them!..well actually i'd kill for a lot thing like them fender '74 jazz basses.Or one of them ice cream machine they have in trucks.

  • Your DEMOS are always more like SONGS, one reason I always enjoy them so much/

  • hoch lebe electro!!!

  • I think the first time I ever heard the Odyssey in action was from Gary Numan, well, that I am aware of. These things are still the shiznit. From what I understand, the

ARP company GAVE the Odyssey to any artist that was famous...which to me kinda sucks cos any famous artist had enough money to buy dozens if these things, whilst us poor saps had to be satisified with either drooling in the the window of the local music store, or had store owners tolerant enough to let us in to tinker with them

  • @MrSYSTEM20 I think relativity would be slightly askew regarding the perceived 'inexpensiveness' of a vintage synth. Also consider that nobody cranked them out like Big Macs. The artists that used them endorsed them and they were paid in cash or perhaps a complimentary tuneup or accessory. It was, and still is customary to RENT synths and other gear simply for the sheer costs involved in owning and repairing them. To this end, Duran Duran has been known to rent Korg Tritons and hire techs.

  • Marko-Killerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr :pPPpPpp

  • @theHackerOfMayhem

    Killer ARP ;)

  • ive soiled myself

  • AWESOME!! at 0:30, its sounds me like DepecheMode's "Enjoy the silence" bassline. In fact, i never have found someone that recreates this bassline. Can you give some "clues" about how to? what gear do you think DM used to create that unique bassline? thanks!!!

  • @FASTHONORIO

DM used the big brother of the Odyssey the ARP 2600 for the bass sounds.

I use the sample and hold function.

  • @retrosound72 DM have had the benefit of being there 30 years ago and being the best learners. They had Vince Clarke to start with and that kind of fortune comes rarely in a lifetime.

  • fantastic sound man really love it.wish i had an odyssey

  • nice!

my pants got wet after this.

  • Well done mate! Sound's great :-)

  • This sounds like very early Front 242, Great Stuff!

  • OMG

    I LOVE THIS SOUNDS

  • there are strings missings in order to make a complete song.

i can hear them a little in my mind; would be nice starting point for such a song.

  • i want an sci pro one

  • I nominate this as one of the coolest videos of all time on YouTube!

  • cool!

    thank you

  • Sweeet :) Arp = instant fun :)

  • Excellent!!

  • Ist das super !!!!!!!!!!!! Ich bin begeistert.

  • riiichtig geil das!!!!!!

  • HooOOoo the Odyssey got an incredible sound !

  • Könnte ich mir stundenlang anhören... :)

  • freut mich.

    danke

  • arp is amazing, and great drum pattern with the 808

  • thanks :)

  • DETROIT FOREVER

  • WHAT ?

  • techno came from Detroit

  • they couldnt afford no arps back then...

  • that`s wrong... i think techno and electro came from germany...

    remember "kraftwerk"

  • what about Bruce Haack?

  • i never heard about Bruce Haack before, but now i`ve seen some youtube videos about him... maybe you`re right, but it was the same era i think.

  • Your syntheizer sounds and riffage is very old school electronica and old school synth pop. You should really think about adding some vocals to your songs. Alot of people create great instrumental tracks but no actual vocal pieces. your music IS very creative though. :)

  • thanks a lot :)

vocals? but not from me ;)

  • Hope I could for you. :D I'm from the Philippines, anyway.

    Lucious synth sounds indeed!

  • thank you :)

  • Could these same sounds of the ARP be achieved with a Roland SH-101? They sound quite simular.

  • No the sound is different and the Odyssey is much more flexible.

  • And FATTER XD

  • schmatzen und brüllen, alles dabei! 5*

  • genau :)

    danke

  • Loving the arpeggios and that TR808 looks mint!.. incidently, how did you record the audio? do you have an audio input on your camera? what camera are you using?

  • I record direct on HD.

I have only a simple camera.

  • hey retro sound ,you should check out the belgian band

'Vive la fete' verry retro nice analogish style music ...

  • Anyway, best ever retro sound, thx again for this new surprise =D

  • lol

yes the stylo with wheels is really cool

    thanks

  • This is just great! Synths sounding like electronic music is supposed to sound. As always great work. Please do more with the ARP, since I never seems to get my hand on one myself :D

  • thanks :)

  • i wish i could have all those toys...i'm more a hardware than software...even tho i use just soft synths

  • May I remind you how much I hate you?

What's next? Don't tell me, you are married to Victoria Silvstedt right?

  • This old synth wanted to have no people before 12 years. All wanted more and big samplers and digital synths with the greatest rom memory.

  • fantastic stuff mate-again.lol

  • thx :)

  • can i pick ur brains about something when u have 5 mins?

  • Super wie immer! ;)

  • wie immer dankeschön :)

  • cool

  • thx :)

  • AWESOME!

  • thank you

  • ARP made some of the nicest sounding synths imo. This really shows how nice and also a breadth of sounds it makes. Great stuff. Annoyingly they dont make many synths like that anymore.

  • absolutly
