Couple things there. First off muay thai fighters hands very rarely look as good as pro boxers, I dont think I need to explain why that is. Also JWP has never been known for his great technique. I think the most important factor though is JWP was desperate to get out of Yods kicking range and throw as many punches as he could when he got in range as to not waste the opportunities.
there are a lot of KB guys who hands look as good as a pro ...masato, le banner,anuwat,buakaw and so on .....as for the rest of of your comments they make JWP sound like a hack...which he is in comparison....IMO hes a B level fighter but with an A class name....and i say that cuz hes never beaten the top level guys in thailand /japan/holland
Like I said, his isn't known for his technique but his punches are definitely his best weapon. I wouldn't call JWP a hack as he's won multiple world titles, but I wouldn't call him an elite fighter either, especially not at this stage in his career, he's just a very personable guy so he gets more attention than others with his skill level.

i think the head shot was after the fact. liver shots sometimes take a second or 2 before u get a reaction. The punch may not have dropped him had he not just eatn the liver shot
So much better than at the start of the series. Yodsaenklai was the best man in the tournament, but John Wayne definately deserved to be in the final.

I don't think there's any doubt that Muay Thai is the most exciting ring sport at the moment. It also involves much more technique, thinking and strategic (and injuries and fatigue) than any of the rest. JWP was always going to get outclassed by Yod but I don't think he counted on Yods precision. JWP can throw 20 punches but Yod throws 2-3 and they are 100% on target. I've only seen Maywheather play that kind of game in boxing but most Thais do exactly that.

Id agree with you the announcers are silly... but have a look at 4.10 look at the recoil on JWP head he does go down because of the punch mate. The knee just gets his guard down and would fucking hurt!

i think the head shot was after the fact. liver shots sometimes take a second or 2 before u get a reaction. The punch may not have dropped him had he not just eatn the liver shot

I don't think there's any doubt that Muay Thai is the most exciting ring sport at the moment. It also involves much more technique, thinking and strategic (and injuries and fatigue) than any of the rest. JWP was always going to get outclassed by Yod but I don't think he counted on Yods precision. JWP can throw 20 punches but Yod throws 2-3 and they are 100% on target. I've only seen Maywheather play that kind of game in boxing but most Thais do exactly that.

dude in the first 2 rounds they just start off they dont go hard the first 3 rounds u just were ya self out. and plus dosent matter on age and not really height it matters on da weight of the competors. and muy thai has alot of skill in it. u have use knees elbnows kicks punchs and defensive and offensive skills of boxing. so dont go saying all sht about muy thai cuz JWP all da way

yea it was ok but~ i like my training back at home, i was at nakompathom~ i think its called~ country side,west of bangkok. 4~5 months~ all idone was knee sparing and non stop kicking. . . the boxing was really BASIC i rather the training at my home town. I think too many thais train same. . . but i suppose it depends. yea~ go to thailand and train and live SUPER cheap. . . miss the food. . .
