  • just amazing

  • Noodle !! :D <3

  • Samba?!

  • does anyone know what language she's singing in at the end? :o

  • @scrapingskies I think Portuguese

  • @scrapingskies japanese maybe, it's hard to figure out

  • I thought it would be a cover of Heart-Barracuda.... However, I´m not dissapointed.I love this song!

  • wow...that had deep meaning. She sails through turmoil in her life but then looks into her own heart to find happiness in the end. Love it.

  • Muito bem! : )

  • Saw this song like 3-4 years ago when it was on the front page of youtube, and I just found it again.

  • @ZomgGuitarz1234 Same here :).

  • Who made the video to go with the audio?

  • Can see why she was chosen to make some music with Damon Albon and the Gorillaz.

  • I freaking love this song

  • 433 people are retards!

  • Like the MJ refferences in the vid.

  • @tuchesuavae MJ?

  • @stravvberry Yeah, watch michael jacksons leave me alone video then re watch tis closely.

  • @tuchesuavae wow ur right it is filled with references to micheal jacksons vid

but i ust say... i think miho's vid is better :P

  • @stravvberry XD

  • ny one knows what shes saying in spanish..... if it is spanish...

  • @stravvberry shes talkin portuguese(from brazil) and i didnt really understand much but she says something about not being in any danger

  • @TCHAD26 ah ok thanks.... yeah couldve guessed japanese and pronounciation dont really go well together... still thanks for responding to my question

  • @stravvberry I know it's Portuguese, but I can't understand much... just some words, "tomorrow", "crazy", "sea" and something about her sinking...

  • NOODLE?!?!?

  • meditation is all!

  • amazing, thank you!

  • she is noodle in 19/2000

  • hooray i get to see her as noodle on the new york gorillaz concert in october!!!!!!!!!!

  • @ContraversialPro I thought she was only noodle ten years ago!

  • @AlexPiti5 yeah she was a but specially for this years tour she was invited to join for 109/2000

  • @ContraversialPro you lucky bastard!!! lol

  • Sweet, I wasnt aware she had any solo material. Still listen a lot to the Cibo Matto classics :) Without having even heard this one all the way through yet I'm being cautiosly optimistic. Same mellow mood, but freshened up beats for the new century. It's officially my second listenthrough now, I decided I DO like it. A much anticipated return for me, and all I can do is the /bow lame web version instead of falling at her feet. Love you Miho!

  • I'm pretty sure she said I saw the tigers on the sea...

  • @GLaDRONE makes sense. This video is a massive acid trip, and the song could easily be one too.

  • Oops! She's not Noodle. "A popular misconception"...see Haruku Kuroda

  • @Porchduck She was Noodle on the debut album.

  • @slurm1 (Like the name..Which to eat, Frye or Lela?) I Googled Haruka Kuroda and on her site it said she was Noodle and it also had a link to the Gorrilaz site. Are you saying Miho was maybe the first Noodle and Haruka Kuroda was "subsequent" Noodles? Maybe so, I dunno. I saw where someone many pages back said Haruka was Noodle - not Miho, so I checked it out and sure enough - the blurb on the site said it was a popular misconception that Miho was Noodle... Anyway, cool shoeshines for all!

  • @slurm1 You're right. Miho was Noodle on first album and Haruka Kuroda was Noodle after that on the "Phase 1 Tour". (Not sure why they said "popular misconception" in Haruka's website. Kinda misleading...)

  • What a great song. The Latin percussion is killer. I'm doing an adaptation on guitar.

  • the video reminds me of micheal jackson's leave me alone video. sweet song though

  • Sounds like something you would hear in Sex and the City

  • Great song :) I love her as Noodle too (Noodle from the Gorillaz-The best member of the band ;D)

  • @sgorto Wow, so she's noodle! Get the cool shoe shine!

  • Should replace the "It's a Small World" ride at Disneyland with this!

  • Really makes me miss cibo matto lots! But Miho Hatori will always have a special place in my heartttt. :)

  • this song is awsome!! animation is great...on the track 'metaphysical' she is cool also! nice! peace!

  • Reminds me of her earlier work with/as Cibo Matto. I <3. =^.^=

  • HELLO FROM KURIKOKALEIDOSCOPE

  • Why the hell are people talking about Bjork on a Miho Hatori video. I mean don't get me wrong, I love Bjork.....but seriously we get it, you like her too. Stop comparing artists. They're both great sheesh....

  • Nicely put. Agreeable.

Its just I meant to direct the message to the people who had no intentions on comparing the creations of Miho and Bjork. They just keep simply restating how 'amazing' bjork is and complementing her on a Miho video. Its quite annoying to hear people worshiping anyone like that. Just trying to tell those 'to keep it to themselves.' But I know.

    "Why do I care?" Right.

  • Exactly.

That's the Youtube community for you.

I'm just glad everyone isn't like that.

Thanks for setting an example friend.

  • wouldn't that be more opinion than truth?

maybe i don't think this sounds like bjork?

  • MIHO HATORI is not BJORK.....

  • jaqisan, why you don't like Miho Hatori?

  • Looks like a brazilian samba.

  • yeah!!!

  • I LOVE HER shes so beautiful

  • Love this song.. love Mihi.. HATE this video!

  • Miho Hatori is Noodle from Gorillaz???!!!, wow thanks for let me know...

  • Noodle! :D lol

  • geil

  • I wish I knew portuguese so I could understand the second half of the song! Oh well, at least I know what AntonioMVasques thinks about one of the lines. Cool video!!

  • well actually im portuguese and they are singing in brazilian portuguese and not the original xD rofl (just kidding)

  • Just stumbled across this vid. Not a fan of the song but the visuals are awesome!

  • bloodiefingers, who is bjork?

  • an icelandic singer

  • try japanese american

  • LifeIsForTheLiving, Bjork is quite the artist. Not many people understand her, but I think she's very talented!

  • It's hard to be from Iceland and not be amazing. Bjork is pretty righteous.

  • Samba?

  • lol shrooms.

  • PS: Sorry for the two comments, but I just forgot to write this at the other comment XD. I think the last phrase is "Não há perigo", means "there's no danger", if it is what I think, portuguese.

  • this colors just move my illusion to work harder - nice klip and the chill out song

  • mmm love it props to her creativity

  • so i do't know if anyoe else has noticed or even remembers, but this is the exact format for the video "leave me alone" by michael jackson. they just animated new shit over the original. fukkin brilliant! and better than whacko jacko!

  • I`m guessing this has to do with scuba diving... and the animation inspired by splash mountain... one of my favorites... when is next smokey and miho?

  • micheal jackson clip ;) that hes the rollercoaster thing haha

  • which song????

  • Aishiteru, Miho San.

  • I LOVE IT

  • que buan ritmo tiene esta rolit la verdad es que los de esos lugares tienes exelentes ritmos ,... me lata chocolate

  • I heart Miho Hatori, straight out of purgatory!

  • This video expresses Miho's unique character, mysterious forever-girl and also a comfortable bizarre world like sugar water...shower...splendid !

  • I looooved this video, miho i luv the way you contemplate the world with that cool eclecticisism!! that brazil-like psychedellic fussion!! XD!!

  • i want more cibo matto...

  • miho = Lucy

  • Wow, I haven't heard this song in a while!

  • :D!

  • you rock miho :)

  • Is there anything spelled out on the cliff at 2:59?

  • I see an Alice in Wonderland theme.

  • I like the fact that she is doing something creative! This vid also has that nice creepy, but mysterious look

  • it has a really compact, colorful, sensible theme

the japanese part is really nice

  • I like theorizing about an artists intent as much as the next person. But sometimes with ambiguous things like this i have to wonder wether the artist was thinking as hard about it as we are. Maybe it's just weird.

But i think the life metaphor makes a certain amount of sense. I was personally thinking it was like a dream.

  • miho make another album soon please!!! you are my favorite.

  • It has a sense of French. I like it!

  • definite south american feel. aztec imagery with sounds of brazil...

  • Or you have no idea what you're talking about.

  • this video has alwayz been amazing to me and i think it's amazing. deer was and continues to be my favorite part.

  • Imagine if they'd played this after Sarah Palin's speech instead of the Heart song...

  • @pfinlay yeah the heart song is sucks

  • this video is amazing...

the thing is like life a journey thru the unknown, then in the jungle its like life itself and all the funny things that one encounters, then tthere is her heart which she may have discovered or just noticed and the end cound be seen as dying or as a new beginining after a weird journey

  • Personally, I think she started with a journey that lead her into darkness, and she was afraid there because it took her too deep. But when she looked into her heart near the end, she escaped her fears and life became beautiful again. She found that things were not so scary, and she was able to begin a new voyage. The last part where she looks back and sees things as good, is like she is remembering what she had learned, so that she can take the lesson with her as she moves forward.

  • It's not just the video. The song is like a trip into a jungle-like Alice in Wonderland.

Sometimes it's hard to understand what Miho says, but it makes it sound cooler if you look at it a certain way.

  • lindo

  • lindo

  • She is Japanese. And I whatever I may or may not be smoking, it's not making me as deaf as sat0pi.

  • viva la woman

  • lol

  • Very interesting video!

  • what the hell is that?!

  • unomeasjon!!!!! Craptalk!!!!!!!! are you serious? it cant be her!!!!!

  • Miho Hatori = Noodle from Gorillaz

  • are you serious?

  • I shit you not young stallion

  • I bought this song, I liked it so much.

  • I really like her voice, it's pretty. I hope she comes out with more stuff. :]

  • Theamazingrodent, you should check out cibo mato (the band she was in in the 90's) if you haven't already

  • trippy video

  • LOL this isnt supposed to be a cover. It is a original track that just shares same name as the other song.

  • I'm fairly certain that Miho speaks better English than you. Maybe you should take classes?

  • Aw, I'm so glad there are so many views on this vid. Miho's so awesome.

  • kool ass song

  • She's more Bjork than Bjork But she still kicks major ass!

  • such a good song =]

    nice video

  • 'when I lost a line of water

my soul starts to draw an oblique line

it takes me to the land of Orion

in the clouds of methane'....... That bit reminds me of Cibo Matto singing Suger Water for some reason. Hm.

  • the creepy thing is trhat i found this vid right after watching.... sugar water.

  • well that's cause miho hatori is from cibo matto

  • I saw the tigers of the ocean They come to me 'Cuz they can see my fear Losing your love is without sunshine I'd rather burn my heart on the beach I had a dream of Barracuda 'when I lost a line of water my soul starts to draw an oblique line it takes me to the land of Orion in the clouds of methane' Don't bite me now with your teeth of fear I'm searching What I want is pleasure go ahead sing-along
  • とても素敵です。

  • Wow, that song is gorgeous!

  • Reminds me of a dream I had when I was a kid.

  • me too

  • Both song and video kick ass. Miho is a real talent.

  • People are confused by emo....if it is mostly black they instantly think it's emo...I know this cuz the goth scene gets mistaken with the same thing.....stupid people out there....

  • strange....good symbolism tho..

  • Just saw this at the San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival on the BIG SCREEN! ...... tunnel of mushrooms.......

  • Hm.. interesting. I'm not sure if I really like it or not. I think this is the kind of song that takes a few listens to get used to. I dunno.

  • The imagery reminds me of Alice in Wonderland. I love the music and the singing. Miho Hatori has a great voice.

  • I don't understand why people keep saying this song is emo. It doesn't sound like emo music at all. Unless emo music suddenly shifted to using brazilian rhythms and japanese accents in there songs.

  • I'm brazilian and have a brazilian sample on this. Very good! The most marcable instrument call's "Cuica". I like the soundtrack.

  • absolutely gorgeous track!

  • What are you hearing that I'm not? I don't hear a emo song I hear a samba song with a japanese person singing in english over it. If this is what emo music has become I'm gonna start listening to a lot more of it.

  • Whatever dude haha

  • I like it...

    =D

  • Very nice!

  • it reminds me Bjork, don't know why :S

  • I dont know what it is, but this song, or video makes my feel insanely frightened when I hear and look at it. But still it's so fascinating. But I just get so happy everytime she gets out on the open ocean and everything is over. And it's not like I can quit watching it either, I have to see the ending everytime. but it's a really great song, and video. love it!!!

  • Great look. This music isn't up with CM's best stuff from the nineties, but two identical figures in the boat would have added more dimension and channels for expression.

  • I dont find the video to exciting, but the song is stupendous!

  • If you don't like it, don't watch it. Miho is a artist in best way of the term.

  • Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!! love it!

  • One word for you...

    DUURRRRRRRrrrr.

  • Love this song, so mellow! :)

  • trippy ;)

  • dahora

  • what software program was this video created on?

  • Love it..
