Sweet, I wasnt aware she had any solo material. Still listen a lot to the Cibo Matto classics :) Without having even heard this one all the way through yet I'm being cautiosly optimistic. Same mellow mood, but freshened up beats for the new century. It's officially my second listenthrough now, I decided I DO like it. A much anticipated return for me, and all I can do is the /bow lame web version instead of falling at her feet. Love you Miho!
@slurm1 (Like the name..Which to eat, Frye or Lela?) I Googled Haruka Kuroda and on her site it said she was Noodle and it also had a link to the Gorrilaz site. Are you saying Miho was maybe the first Noodle and Haruka Kuroda was "subsequent" Noodles? Maybe so, I dunno. I saw where someone many pages back said Haruka was Noodle - not Miho, so I checked it out and sure enough - the blurb on the site said it was a popular misconception that Miho was Noodle... Anyway, cool shoeshines for all!
@slurm1 You're right. Miho was Noodle on first album and Haruka Kuroda was Noodle after that on the "Phase 1 Tour". (Not sure why they said "popular misconception" in Haruka's website. Kinda misleading...)
Why the hell are people talking about Bjork on a Miho Hatori video. I mean don't get me wrong, I love Bjork.....but seriously we get it, you like her too. Stop comparing artists. They're both great sheesh....

Plenty of people from different countries have learned how to speak languages foreign to them, and have learned to do it without an accent that muddles what they are trying to say.
As it is, why does she have to use English? Why not just use a language that she's fluent with? Nothing wrong in that, and then you don't have ...this.
I wish I knew portuguese so I could understand the second half of the song! Oh well, at least I know what AntonioMVasques thinks about one of the lines. Cool video!!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I love the song and the movie, but it seems like she's trying to copy Bjork's style and way of singing, doesn't it? Not that I'm saying I don't like it or anything...
PS: Sorry for the two comments, but I just forgot to write this at the other comment XD. I think the last phrase is "Não há perigo", means "there's no danger", if it is what I think, portuguese.
so i do't know if anyoe else has noticed or even remembers, but this is the exact format for the video "leave me alone" by michael jackson. they just animated new shit over the original. fukkin brilliant! and better than whacko jacko!
I`m guessing this has to do with scuba diving... and the animation inspired by splash mountain... one of my favorites... when is next smokey and miho?
I like theorizing about an artists intent as much as the next person. But sometimes with ambiguous things like this i have to wonder wether the artist was thinking as hard about it as we are. Maybe it's just weird.
But i think the life metaphor makes a certain amount of sense. I was personally thinking it was like a dream.
the thing is like life a journey thru the unknown, then in the jungle its like life itself and all the funny things that one encounters, then tthere is her heart which she may have discovered or just noticed and the end cound be seen as dying or as a new beginining after a weird journey
Personally, I think she started with a journey that lead her into darkness, and she was afraid there because it took her too deep. But when she looked into her heart near the end, she escaped her fears and life became beautiful again. She found that things were not so scary, and she was able to begin a new voyage. The last part where she looks back and sees things as good, is like she is remembering what she had learned, so that she can take the lesson with her as she moves forward.
I saw the tigers of the ocean They come to me 'Cuz they can see my fear Losing your love is without sunshine I'd rather burn my heart on the beach I had a dream of Barracuda 'when I lost a line of water my soul starts to draw an oblique line it takes me to the land of Orion in the clouds of methane' Don't bite me now with your teeth of fear I'm searching What I want is pleasure go ahead sing-along
People are confused by emo....if it is mostly black they instantly think it's emo...I know this cuz the goth scene gets mistaken with the same thing.....stupid people out there....
I don't understand why people keep saying this song is emo. It doesn't sound like emo music at all. Unless emo music suddenly shifted to using brazilian rhythms and japanese accents in there songs.
