I agree on that point. I thought I was going to hate Chip, but I was wrong. Also, I liked Shadow in SA2, but I thought he should have actually stayed dead. Sega intended for him to die there, but due to fan response, they brought him back. In my opinion, that sucked, and shadow now fills the role of "guy who can kick everyone's ass, including the main character", which needn't exist in Sonic the Hedgehog. This is why we can't have nice things...
