  • WHOOOOOOO!!!! Yay go California for banning big cats!!!!!!!! I live there by the way XD I'm happy for that cause even though people find a way around laws, I would seriously be freaked out if one of my neighbors had an big cat as a pet I would also report them too! I would probably yell at them too for condemning another WILD animal to a life in a cage when they would be much happier and free in the wild.

  • Its so sad that people think its acceptable to cage these beautiful animals. They need space and freedom not selfish owners putting them in a cage. Well done Big Cat Rescue for the work you do :-)

  • Does Legal means can have that tiger or cannot? :O

I really wish to have 1

  • @TheSammy15z WTF?

  • I plan on owning a Serval when I'm older, i'm moving to Rhode Island, getting a sizable house with a large backyard for a 10x10 pen which i WILL tend to, and make as comfortable for my baby as possible, he or she will also live inside. I love what you guys do, rescuing animals in need is just simply amazing, but not all private owners are bad, allot of people say they are better for the species. so while I love what you are doing the smaller sub species (some) can be kept as loving happy pets.

  • @PsychicXWolf Do you think a house and a 10ft x 10ft cage is suitable for a wild animal that would usually roam hundreds of square miles in the wild? I understand that many private owners do not have bad intentions but this doesn't make owning these animals right, they deserve much better. Not to mention that they spray and are dangerous and unpredictable, plus what happens to the cat if you are unable to care for it anymore?

  • @BigCatRescue Well said. You wonder when people start to learn. But also when in all the states of the USA keeping wild animals will be forbidden.

  • @PsychicXWolf A serval is a wild animal and doesn't belong in a cage. No matter if you take care of it or not. They can't be kept as loving pets simply because they aren't. And for that one you happen to take care of many are being abused, mistreated, killed, starved, etc.

  • US should learn from Singapore, where laws like these, go to an extreme. If you have a chicken in your backyard, and you don't have a license, and you live in an apartment, you can be jailed and fined! much less a tiger!

  • Banned in Cali!!! i luv tigers but in my opinion owing one is horrible I mean they just get stuck in a cage for years..:(

  • wow i hope you get mauled to death by that cat of yours

  • If you cant fit a collar on it. dont take it

  • Very well done. I wrote my thesis in 2005 (Legislature of Endangered Species as Exotic Pets in the US) and I was shocked at some states that didn't have laws like Deleware (and weren't parts of Deleware trying to ban pitbulls? So people can have a tiger but not a pitbull? Smart move!

  • @BCR just ignore those dumb comments

  • A guy just released 58 exotic animals in Ohio, including lions, leopards and tigers, and so far, around 46 have been euthanized by the police.

  • you guys have way 2 many states....

  • @BigCatRescue I don't understand why it's such a horrible thing to have a cougar or cheetah as a pet if the owner raised it as a cub. If it were an adult taken from the wild that'd be different, but not only are they safe from predators and hunters, they also are put in an environment where they will be nurtured and loved. I'm not "Hating" on organizations like you, in fact I love what you do and I watch your videos frequently, but I don't necessarily agree with you on this.

  • @Djakoby2095 Hi, thanks for your support and for watching our videos! The bottom line is that these wild animals do not belong in backyards and living rooms, they can never be tamed, they will always be wild, they escape enclosures can attack people and sometimes people lose their lives. These animals roam hundreds of square miles in the wild confining them to backyard cages is abuse in itself in our eyes. Not to mention all the cats that are abandoned each year by their owners.

  • @BigCatRescue you're a moron! any animal is better inside than out! you fucking faggot!!! for every exotic cat you dont own im going to own three!!! who cares if they kill people! there are already way to many people on this planet!!!

  • @CaptainNensho This is such a great comment, thank you! I'm not going to respond.....

  • @CaptainNensho IQ of a peanut...

  • @BigCatRescue I completely understand where you guys are coming from: I hear ridiculous stories about fully grown lions or tigers living in someone's tiny apartment, and I feel awful for those poor animals. But what if an exotic cat is actually happy living with it's owner? I'm talking a responsible owner, who knows these animals, and sacrifices the majority of the his/her time every single day to make sure that it stays happy and healthy.

  • @philliesphreak10 These cats roam hundreds of square miles in the wild so no matter what you do or how much you can provide for them they shouldn't be privately owned. Because if one person can, the next person wants to as well, plus there will never be enough money or manpower to enforce regulations. Not to mention the number of escapes and attacks by privately owned "pet" big cats....

  • @Djakoby2095 Because they're wild animals, no matter if they're raised as a cub. I don't understand why you want to lock up an animal that normally needs a LOT of space roaming around. How selfish can you be?

  • Their gonna extinct soon because of all these greedy people who doesnt know the limit ,forget it they wont make good pets

  • Stupid Americans (Only some) Tigers are going to extinct soon

  • These animals belong out in the wild. Not in cages. If you're going to own these pets atleast have a sizeable ranch where they are free to run, and hunt.

  • Yes! Leagal in penslyvania!

  • LEAGAL IN PENLYVANIA! ALRIGHT! :D

  • YES!! Legal in Texas!

  • FUCK YES, I've always wanted my own lion. I'll name him Christian after my brother and that hugging lion.. He'll be bffs with my German Shepherd, Siamese cat, beta fish, and parakeets! :D

  • @ToriTreble Your Germean Shhepherd and your other animal will mostly likely be dinner to the Lion. These animals are not ment for being caged in. There are ment to live in the natural habit. Not in someons backyard or garage or whatever.

  • must move to pensalvana

  • i feel really bad for those cats :'( big cats like that should be free!

  • i feel really bad for those cats :'( THEY SHOULD BE FREE!!!

  • massachuttes banned fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuccccccccccccccckkkkkkkkkkkkkkk i wanted a tiger to put in my bathroom to scare my friend alan

  • AHHHHH!! :O it's legal in Texas?!?!?! What!!! These people are crazy! It's my worst nightmare to see one of those big cats! Texas has a very dumb rule!

  • Damn, its illegal in my state!

  • 2:28 almost made me cry

  • i would love to have a tiger as a pet tho you would have 2 get it as a baby so it gets used 2 u growing up just like i did with my dog

  • @Crazy4SodaGal you are crazy i mean sure tigers are cool but not as pets they belonge in the big cat rescue place and in the wild i think every state in the United States of America should be banned for having big cats (and no i dont mean like large house cats i mean tigers, cougars, lions, ect.) that is what i think

  • Is it really Legal in Maine? I live here and didn;t even know that. Don't get me wrong it would be AMAZING to to keep one of these beautiful animals on my 200 acres of land, but I would ever want to keep a wild animal caged, or in captivity.

  • @cammarkgross Yes, unfortunately :(

  • Notice how most have small cages or try to attack when people are near their cage... :(

  • I can't believe that in Texas it's legal! Still wouldn't want one in my neighborhood whether I own it or not. Big Cats can be unpredictable and dangerous, and I wouldn't be surprised if they can easily jump or climb over fences and go running around. Plus think of the children who would mistaken it for a big kitty cat and then get killed the next second. And as hot as Texas gets(in my residence anyway), the long haired ones would be miserable. Keep them in a good zoo or someplace else.

  • Wow bigcatrescue actualy responds to comments! Now that's called caring :)

  • @eminemishh Add people as friends, too! :D LOVE IT

  • @nan062 MOST of the time owners

one:start not being able to feed the cats.

two :the owner dies from the cat eating them (from not feeding them)or making the cat mad then the CAT is killed .

three:owners (as BCR said) just breed the cats for money like tigers they breed them for the white coated ones and if the coats isn't white the cats are killed.

majority rules none should be able to keep big cats its too risky

  • @minerfamilyrules no, its not legal in canada

  • NO ITS LEGAL IN BAMA!

  • its LEGAL WHERE I LIVE ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!

    sometimes i hate people :P

  • @nan062 People do not have the right to own anything but domestic animals! It´s time people stop thinking they own the world and that they can do anything, because it´s leading to disastrous events. These animals are naturally wild, they stress when feel closed and it would require a lot of money to provide them a decent "home", money that most people do not have, plus would you like a rich man to own you? would you like to be closed in a house (no matter how richly decorated)?

  • Tiger bile is good for treating convulsions, they should breed these tigers to help cure sick people.

  • @nan062 We don't believe people have the right to cage wild animals for their enjoyment, we have to draw the line somewhere and tigers and lions being kept in backyards is simply ridiculous and extremely dangerous. There are not enough wildlife officers to enforce laws and make regular inspections of all the facilities that own/breed/sell these animals and probably never will be. This problem must stop and not continue as it is...

  • @BigCatRescue So why do you get too?

  • @rembot We rescue these cats from horrible situations and provide them with a permanent home for the rest of their lives, without us they would be far worse off or dead. We do not choose to go and buy these cats we rescue them, in a perfect world BCR wouldn't have to exist and this is what we are aiming for.

  • @BigCatRescue great work guys...could you please tell me how much does your largest tiger and largest lion weight and which cat eats most food

  • @sabertooth7777 Our largest tiger (Shere Khan) weighs over 700lbs, our largest lion is probably Nikita (female) and I'd guess her weight at around 450lbs. It's hard to say which cat eats the most.......

  • It is sad but it is the only way to protect the big cats from extinction.... most of the wild areas for them have disappeared...

  • I'm from Illinois and I didn't know it was legal.

  • i couldent have a lion or tiger as a pet me, i would be well scared of feeding it!!

  • i couldent have a lion or tiger as a pet me, i would be well scared of feeding it!!

  • i think this is not a state problem its a federal

  • lol did you see the the tiger jump into the water write in front of the camera lol

  • lol did you see the the tiger jump into the water write in front of the camera lolololol

  • how about canada

  • I think it's sad that so many states allow people to have wild animals as pets! I love big cats but I never wanted to own one because they are "wild" but I love watching shows on them :) I think if these wild animals have to live anywhere but the wild it should be in zoos or sanctuary not people's houses!!

  • Tiger ate the Groom on the wedding date? Bride doesnt look very upset and she isnt even married yet...

  • I hope, I'm guessing here, they're illegal in Canada?? The poor dudes would freeze to death!

  • I'm glad my state is banned to not allowing to have bigs. I wish all the states are like that.

  • 2:28 that's a really sad picture...

I don't understand why people keep these animals in captivity... and why the states don't care about the situation of these exotic animals, which most of the time are kept in awful conditions!

  • Here Comes the Bride and Groom!!!...oh and their big ass tiger!

It upsets me to know that it is legal in FL, Not only is it not fair for the animals but us humans now have to worry about tigers and lions being loose.

  • I can't believe I use to live in Florida (I'm in Georgia now), but even with BCR there, it's still legal.

  • when i saw California = banned i was like YYYYYEEESSS!!! cuz i know atleast my state is doing something about it

  • @XxServalcat24xX now if we would only not ban ferrets...or at least not euthanize seized pets.

  • Cool...I can have a pet lion! But seriously...this is horrible. That is scary that people in Texas can own big cats. Some of those animals look like you've given them a good life. Others look to be in very sad conditions. Why would a bride be walking a tiger? Not enough blood on her dress? Jeez! People are stupid.

  • what about mike tyson's?? lol

  • Oh thank goodness! It's banned in my state! It'd be torture to have a big cat up here. Too cold for the poor things. :(

  • i hate how in my state it's leagel :/

  • @BigCatRescue Even though it is legal in Arkansas to keep lions, tigers, and mountain lions as pets, a permit is required to possess them and no new permits are going to be issued. Also, it is illegal to bring these cats into AR.

  • hii umm yeahh i like comment on most of ur videos ok that was random but is it banned or leagal in portugal?

  • @horses4ever20101 I have no idea to be honest?? Is this where you live?

  • @BigCatRescue yes i do live there but to be pastific i live in albufeira how could i find out if it is banned or leagal in portugal?

  • why the hell would anyone want a wild giant cat as a pet?

  • @marcy300 I think they see it as "status" and a form of luxury and wealth. A guy I went to high school with had a pet monkey. It's legal in my state, but he took such bad care of it. It eventually died before we even graduated. And he ended up buying another one.

  • id love to vist the place!is it public to vistors? What state is it in?

  • @sporeguy101 Yes, you can visit the sanctuary, we have se tour times if you want to visit our website BigCatRescue*org for times and prices, we are located in Tampa Florida :)

  • Well, I'd love to have one as a pet ofcourse, but I'd rather be someone that lives in the wild myself too, wouldn't wanna be asleep and get killed, and it ain't good for the poor cuty either

  • Dear BigCatRescue,

I just found out my state allowed big cats to be pets. How do I stop that?

  • @KlissaVideos You can visit our website CatLaws*com, here you will find all the contacts for your particular state and send them either pre written letters form our site or write to them yourself and voice your opinion this way, this is the best way to make a difference :) THANKS!

  • Omg DX AR is legal!! change it, please!!

  • more legal then banned

  • NO CT I'D LEGAL NO^ NO^ CHANGE IT! NO ONE DHOULD HAVE THESE AS A PET!!

  • it shouldnt be legal anywhere to own a wild animal... whether its a big cat or another wild animal its sick

  • I understand your concern. But, who's to say that these cats are kept in poor conditions? If you find that out (and have hard evidence to the fact), then it should definately be taken care of!But, uuummm...you guys own the cats don't you?Just sayin'!

  • @wheeler1 When an animal that roams hundreds of square miles is forced to live in a backyard or garage it's ALWAYS going to be seen as poor conditions to us. We rescue these cats from bad conditions and provide them with a permanent home for the rest of their lives, we don't buy, breed or sell.

  • I tell you, and scary bunch is that BigCatHaven.they promote repeeling the exotic animal ownership laws.thats also VERY sad,all those over/in breed cats as well as other exotics

  • Wait noo! There is people in California that has owned exotic animals. This one guy in Santiago Canyon that had a pet lion until it grew big and he had to be sent up North. There were pictures of him in a General Store in Santiago Canyon, and supposedly he has some exotic animal collection too as well

  • soooo if they dont bann it in lafayette indiana next time i look in my backyard i see a full grown non declawed LION

  • 2:57 adorable and tragic at the same time

  • Its legal in Florida?!?! Crazy! They grow up to be big and dangerous!

  • It is NOT legal in Maryland to keep big cats.

  • louisiana banned?? there's this guy that has big cats..............

  • My husband's infant uncle was eaten by the pigs. Don't interact with big carnivores or omnivores, unless you're BigCatRescue.

  • 1:26 and 2:16 was sad :(

  • that's a lot more than i thought....

  • Very sad to see such beautiful animals languishing in small cages, chained up, as well as sick and malnourished because their owners cannot look after them properly.

  • if i had a tiger i would take him on a walk all around.......=) dont mess with me

  • great video! It makes me angry to see these wonderfull animals behind bars and fances. They belong in the wild, nature. But it happends in europe also. An colleague of my father had an black panther in his house, he lives in a small town. One day a thief came into his house, he put the animal in a clouset. So he could walk easely around the house. Colleague came home and he had to put the cat down because it whas to agressive. Because of the experience in the small clouset. It makes me so angry!

  • When I was growing up our next door neighbor had a lion that he kept in a big cage in his backyard. I used to stand on our playset and watch him. We were too afraid to let our pets out in the back yard!! He always took really good care of him but I know some people get them and are in over their heads. Just don't get one to start with unless you have the proper experience and means to take care of one!!

  • @suneyedgrrl Wow, that must have been scary as a kid to have a lion living next door to you, especially when you're not sure how solid the enclosure is etc.. The best thing, no matter how much experience etc... someone may have is to not own these animals at all, they don't deserve to languish in small backyard cages, doing so just fuels the exotic "pet" trade and the abuse and suffering will continue :(

  • @suneyedgrrl NO! absolutely not! even w/ the 'means' this is pure torture to keep large cat confined! People try to project affections of a house cat on these magnificent animals and R just plain wrong! IF anything - support big cat habitat preservation - support reputable institutions like BCR - and just say NO to animal cruelty.

  • @GtrDudeL

that stuff would never work because when americans discovered USA they were hunting buffaloes with the native indian making the buffaloes go extinct(almost disappeared) when it became legal to breed them there is an overflow of buffaloes it's just they don't live in the wilderness. If that is the problem then try to stop human devellopment or limit it they'll go further anyway.

  • why does people want these cats to be free , them running around the road , when your walking to school you see a person walking his tiger , and finally ONE DAY when your going outside to do something you see a tiger attacking a human in the corner ! , yes tigers and lions are cute , but is it cute enough to die ? i'll love to have a tiger in my house , if only it was complete trained and won't attack anybody , and maybe a tazer , just in case the tiger attacks dont worry tiger will be okay s

  • you could have one , and one that won't attack you , get a baby tiger 1 month old or 1 week old , and then when you raise it , its gonna think your his daddy or mama , but be careful when your friends come !

  • @bleachfan178 This is what breeders want you to believe but WILD cats can never be trained/tamed etc... just look at seigfried and Roy, they will always have their wild instincts no matter what you do.

  • @bleachfan178 most stupid thing ever heared. some folks dont listen at all.....

  • If you live in a banned state is there still a way to have one? What did you mean by there is a way around the law?

  • @messymelon39 Sometimes, ligers for instance people buy these cats or breed them and then claim that laws regarding lions or tigers do not apply to them because they have a liger etc.. Also their are loopholes when it comes to people who exhibit cats etc...etc...

  • You're just a dumbass if you want a tiger or lion for a pet. They can grow accustomed to and tolerate humans to a limited extent, but they cannot be domesticated, and do not enjoy captivity, especially when they have a limited space to roam. If you keep big cats, not only are you hurting the animal, you are endangering yourself, your family, and your entire community.

  • I am shocked and appalled that it is legal to own exotic cats in my state (and so many others) we need to help put a stop to this! These animals are NOT pets!

  • Thanks for adding to the problem. Most people think it's illegal ... You're broadcasting gives an open door to novices. Are you TRYING to sell cubs again? BTW... I know you'll delete my post... Just figured I'd give you something to do other than harass responsible owners. God Bless:)

  • @godessbast Exactly that's why we wanted to make sure people know this is legal in over half of the USA so they can help us put an end to this problem. We've never sold any of our cats and we don't breed, this would be adding to the problem.

  • @godessbast If people wanted a big cat as a pet they could easily google it to see where they are legal and illegal. It doesn't take a genius to use google.

It isn't like they are going to sit there and wait for Big Cat Rescue to make a video before they can figure out whether or not they can get a big cat.

Also what proof do you have of a responsible owner. Most owners simply want to show off there cat without caring about the health of it.

  • Alot of the states that have banned exotic cat ownership have so many rural areas, it would be not hard at all to find a way around the law.

  • @humanpotential7 Every state has a lot of rural areas. Look at a map, what you see that is not "city" is vast open spaces of rural countryside.

  • 0:27 What is that?

  • @SuperJJx A male lion, the dark patch on his nose from rubbing on a cage etc... (not a cat that lives at Big Cat Rescue)

  • @BigCatRescue thx : )

  • I love cats more than any other animal in the world, but somehow that deep growling sound sets off an extremely deep "oh S@#T" response in my guts!! D:

Guess that's why my species lives on to perpetuate! ^_^

  • I've got a question. If we do resolve the private possession problem, where would all the cats go? They would most likely be put in zoo's and circuses. Maybe some of them will be put in sanctuary's like the Big Cat Rescue, but not all of them. Could you please my question and sorry if it doesn't make sense.

  • @JOEYJORDlS0N It makes sense, we would try and place as many as possible in sanctuaries not circuses, zoos probably wouldn't be interested. Obviously helping the cats in the worst scenarios first and then it would be a case that the owners left would still be allowed to keep the animals until they pass but then cannot own another cat afterwards. ???

  • @BigCatRescue in the case of those "good" owners, people who want to do the right thing, maybe there's some way to train or certify them, thus creating more "professional" keepers...

  • @customcartoons Not really, there's no such thing a s a good owner of a wild cat, you are doing them wrong just by buying them and keeping them captive in the first place for your enjoyment. Then the debate would start..if he/she as a tiger I want one too....etc....

  • @customcartoons Owners who wanted to do something right would have left them in the wild in the first place, and have used that money to instead donate to anti poaching groups, sanctuaries and conservation groups throughout Africa, and Asia.

  • @JOEYJORDlS0Nits called putting them to sleep

  • Umm... We bred house cats for a reason! I wish people would stop trying to tame wild animals.

  • I'm from Serbia, I don't think it is legal (but tigers can buy), but i always wanted to have as a pet one of the big cats (tigers mostly). I would really like to take care of it, and i like big cats.

'Don't make me nervous, i'm gonna let my tiger out to eat you for lunch!'

  • I am sickened by the fact that this is legal in my state (VA).

  • Where I live, it's legal. But the only way I'd EVER own a big cat, is if I had a job raising it when it was lil, and then releasing it. I do not know wha that profession is called though

  • @NamiChanLeafNinja me me me me me i wanna have a tiger!!!!!

  • WOO! go NM. Its strictly illegal to possess big cats in NM because of the ranches and such, and because we have boatloads of wild cougars already...

  • Americans own mexicans whats the differance?

  • this is madness

  • FLORIDA=LEGAL... though i would NEVER EVER own a majesty creature D:

Im begging my mom to let me visit BCR ... maybe an hour away or so (:

  • In a country like Canada, does private possession occur or does it just happen in the U.S?

  • @JoeyJordison12328 I believe it's banned in Canada, although private ownership is legal in other countries :(

  • Same :( I'd love to stop this idiots, house pet are fine, but rlly, a big wild animal? stuck in a cage, no freedom, no excitment, rlly? Man I'd love to have your job ^^

  • I HATE that there are still people in this world that can't realize big cats can't be your pet.

I always loved cats, infact I love all the animals but especially cats and big cats.I would love a job like yours :D

  • yes sadly its legal where i live

  • they all need to be banned.

  • My state bans that. So i guess that's a plus.

    (Incase you're wondering New Jersey).

  • why not try to pass a federal ban on owning wild animals? Maybe, through congress, a Bill or something of that nature?

  • @r8offire Believe us, we try! It's so hard to bring attention and change to the suffering of these animals in the United States and so many loopholes between individual state laws that breeders and owners exploit. Visit CatLaws*com to find out more :)

  • I used to want a pet lion... when I was about 8. I also wanted a giraffe, zebra, elephant & every animal under the sun. Then I grew up and realized that these animals are not pets. It's a shame some people grow up and don't realise this.

  • in IN they only recuse big cats and kill them tigers which is sad for the tigers

  • fail to understand y neone wud want a pet with whom he cant play....

  • that was very informing thanks for that i have something cool to talk about with people now! lol

  • why don't they ban it everywhere? it can possibly hurt the owner and cat. right? why is it legal anyways?

  • @mysterycat84 That would be ideal, that would put an end to big cats suffering in backyard cages. People always want the right to do what they want :(

  • In NC its legal!?!?! O.o

  • I can't believe its banned in only 18 states. I feel that all wild cats should be free and that it should be banned in all 50 states. Maybe it should be banned everywhere. Maybe not zoos or any rescue organization. All people should help wild cats and not torture them in any way. No offense, but those of you who hunt these wild cats for their fur should be punished. Isn't fake fur good enough? How would you feel if you were wearing an animal that was tortured?

  • It would probably be better if people had the sense to realize that these are wild animals at their core. I prefer that there not be laws enacted and that anyone contemplating owning one of these rethink that. Perhaps create a severe tax for anyone who wants to own one to make anyone thinking about it to think long and hard.

  • I'm sorry to anyone who owns a big cat but it's an extremely stuupid idea to get one! First of all the have clws that are the size of nose probably and they have teeth! Also think about it when they get older the waste has to be the size of a dog and talking about waste think about how much you would have to buy to feed them.

  • What, Maryland(my home state), too?? Wow.

  • So all the cats you have were once privately owned at one time. This ownership was likely at a very young age of the cat. So why do they seem so aggressive? I know you can't completely tame any wild animal, but it seems that if they have been around people there entire lives they wouldn't jump at the cages as they do.

Or is this caused by abuse from the previous owners?

Also is there any cat there that is relaxed around people?

  • @b4igetu Many of the clips in this film involved food, it's not like we stick a camera in the face when they are eating all the time, but on a few occasions we do so just to show how aggressive these cats can get very quickly when they are protecting something. The some cats love some keepers and HATE others, either way like you said these cats will always be wild and they are unpredictable no matter how well you think you know them.

  • Ok lets put it this way! Can you own someone! If you are Married do you own your wife/husband! How can you own a animal! Isnt an animal his own owner like you own yourself and nobody els! They are not pets an wild animals suposed to live in the wild! I have a pet cat. I dont own her. She likes me because i feed her and give her shelter. Thats about the only reason why she stays with me. And thats her free choise. These animals have no free choise. They are captured an sold against their will

  • omg! i want a bob cat named bob

  • @1998Kozmo Aparently you totally missed out the point of this video.

  • If you have the right resources, actually love the animal, and can respect how dangerous it can be when grown up then there is nothing wrong with owning one. I will agree that most people who currently own these animals should not because it is an incredibly big responsibility and most people dont understand that until they actually have it.

  • @Kaze446 Or they have the animal while it's still cute, then when it matures and doesn't want to be around people and costs them thousands of dollars a year to feed they still abandon them. Not to mention all the escapes/attacks/deaths each year by privately owned big cats. It should not be legal to privately own these cats...full stop.

  • Whoever filmed all those aggressive cats sure did a good job at making them angry.

There is nothing wrong with keeping these wonderful creatures as pets as long as you know what you are doing. Obviously they are better off in the wild but until someone comes up with a way to reintroduce them to the wild that won't be possible.

Oh btw. Big Cat Rescue started off as private owners too. Gotta love the hypocrisy ;).

  • @TigerXtrm Hi, some cats just don't like certain people or we filmed them when they had food, we never provoke our cats, these short clips just do a great job showing that these cats will always be wild and NEVER make good "pets". Reintroduction to the wild, is not what needs to happen this is pointless if we cannot preserve enough habitat for the cats already living in the wild. We never deny that we started off as owners ourselves, but we have evolved since 1992, unlike other "sanctuaries"

  • @BigCatRescue Don't you think that there are responsible owners out there though? There are plenty of morons who have no clue what they are doing, but at the same time there are plenty of private big cat owners who fully understand what they are dealing with and often do more in terms of security than is required of them by law.

What you guys are doing is a bit like someone else telling you that all sanctuaries are bad and should be banned because there are a few bad ones out there.

  • @TigerXtrm Yeha maybe there is the odd few owners who know what they're doing etc...but this still doesn't change the fact that it's not right to own these animals. Here in lies the problem if one person can own one anybody can own one then there's not strict laws in place or the man power to inspect often enough.
