Yeah, I should have... The front is fairly scratch proof. Anyway, i assure you none of this would have scratched at all. It is made of a material that takes pressure to scratch it, so I could pretty much shake anything around in there and it wouldn't affect it. (I might even be daring enough to shake around some knives in there)
